Objective The Hypomania Checklist - 32 (HCL-32) is a self-assessment instrument developed by Angst et al. (2005) to identify bipolarity in the general population, as well as patients with unipolar depression. The principal objective of this study was to assess the factor structure of the Korean version of the HCL-32 for mood disorder patients, via exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Methods The Korean version of HCL-32 were evaluated in a sample of 608 mood disorder patients, including 210 bipolar disorder patients and 398 unipolar disorder patients, all of whom were diagnosed in accordance with either the Structured Clinical Interview of DSM-IV or Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview They were divided randomly into two groups, and then the EFA was administered to group 1 and the CFA was administered to group 2. Results A 3-factor structure for the HCL-32 was generated, which explained 44% of the total variance from EFA. Factor 1, comprising 18 items, was designated as ‘elated mood/increased energy’; factor 2, comprising 8 items, was designated as ‘risk-taking behavior/irritability’; and factor 3, comprising 2 items, was designated as ‘increased sexual activity’. Researchers confirmed the 3-factor solution derived from group 1 by the CFA. Conclusion The primary findings of this study were the replication and confirmation of the 3-factor structure in Korean mood disorder patients; our results were consistent with previous EFAs.
ASSESSMENT OF WALL-THINNING IN CARBON STEEL PIPEBY USING LASER-GENERATED GUIDED WAVE
DOYOUN KIM,조윤호,JOONHYUN LEE 한국원자력학회 2010 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.42 No.5
The objective of this research is to estimate the crack location and size of a carbon steel pipe by using a laser ultrasoundguided wave for the wall thinning evaluation of an elbow. The wall thinning of the carbon steel pipe is one of the most serious problemsin nuclear power plants, especially the wall thinning of the carbon steel elbow caused by Flow-Accelerated Corrosion (FAC).Therefore, a non-destructive inspection method of elbow is essential for the nuclear power plants to operate safely. The specimensusedin this study were carbon steel elbows, which represented the main elements of real nuclear power plants. The shape ofthe wall thinning was an oval with a width of 120mm, a length of 80mm, and a depth of 5mm. The L(0,1) and L(0,2) modesvariation of the ultrasound guided wave signal is obtained from the response of the laser generation/air-coupled detection ultrasonichybrid system represent the characteristics of the defect. The trends of these characteristics and signal processing were usedto estimate the size and location of wall thinning.
Base extrusion is found at helical junctions between right- and left-handed forms of DNA and RNA
Kim, Doyoun,Reddy, Sanjith,Kim, Dong Young,Rich, Alexander,Lee, Sangho,Kim, Kyeong Kyu,Kim, Yang-Gyun Oxford University Press 2009 Nucleic acids research Vol.37 No.13

Base extrusion is a major structural feature at the junction between B- and Z-DNA (the B–Z junction) where a base pair is broken, and the two bases are extruded from the double helix. Despite the demonstration of base extrusion at the B–Z junction, it is not clear whether a similar base extrusion occurs at other types of junctions involving the left-handed Z conformation. Here, we investigate structural changes of bases at three Z-form junctions: DNA B–Z and Z–Z and RNA A–Z junctions. By monitoring fluorescently labeled duplex nucleic acids using 2-aminopurines at various positions relative to the junction point, we show that base extrusion occurs not only at the DNA B–Z junction, but also at the RNA A–Z and DNA Z–Z junctions. Our data suggest that base extrusion is a general feature of Z-form nucleic-acid junctions.

Sequence preference and structural heterogeneity of BZ junctions
Kim, Doyoun,Hur, Jeonghwan,Han, Ji ,Hoon,Ha, Sung ,Chul,Shin, Donghyuk,Lee, Sangho,Park, Soyoung,Sugiyama, Hiroshi,Kim, Kyeong ,Kyu Oxford University Press 2018 Nucleic acids research Vol.46 No.19

Abstract

BZ junctions, which connect B-DNA to Z-DNA, are necessary for local transformation of B-DNA to Z-DNA in the genome. However, the limited information on the junction-forming sequences and junction structures has led to a lack of understanding of the structural diversity and sequence preferences of BZ junctions. We determined three crystal structures of BZ junctions with diverse sequences followed by spectroscopic validation of DNA conformation. The structural features of the BZ junctions were well conserved regardless of sequences via the continuous base stacking through B-to-Z DNA with A-T base extrusion. However, the sequence-dependent structural heterogeneity of the junctions was also observed in base step parameters that are correlated with steric constraints imposed during Z-DNA formation. Further, circular dichroism and fluorescence-based analysis of BZ junctions revealed that a base extrusion was only found at the A-T base pair present next to a stable dinucleotide Z-DNA unit. Our findings suggest that Z-DNA formation in the genome is influenced by the sequence preference for BZ junctions.

In order to increase the accessibility of dental care for people with disabilities, National Health Insurance Service has implemented an additional point system of National Dental Insurance for dental treatment of patients with a special health care need (AID). The purpose of this study is to investigate the types and status of AID in Korea using data of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service from 2011 to 2017. The basic consultation fee is increased by 9.03 points (713 won) for brain disorder, intellectual disability, mental disability, or autistic disorder. From 2011 to 2015, the number of claims with a basic consultation fee increased from 90,456 to 141,179. Dental treatment and surgical treatment fee is increased by 100% of the defined insurance score for each of the 15 items. During the five years from 2012 to 2016, the number and amount of claims for each item increased steadily. Of the total claims for 5 years, endodontic treatment was highest, with 107,477 cases, followed by 51,641 cases of scaling. There are two types of dental safety observation fee, simple and complex. The simple safety observation fee is 10,370 won per day, and the complex safety observation fee is 20,750 won per day. Dental safety observation fees were charged 34 times in 2015, 14 times in 2016, and 41 times through May 2017. From 2011 to 2017, the number and amount of claims using AID for dental care for people with disabilities increased. However, considering that the number of registered dental users with disability was about 560,000 in 2016, the number of claims using AID is 1-20,000, which is less than 2% of registered dental users with disability. Therefore, it is necessary to expand dental services for people with disabilities including AID.
