      • Identifying Topic-Sensitive Influential Spreaders in Social Networks

Donghao Zhou,Wenbao Han,Yongjun Wang 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.2

Identifying influential spreaders is an important issue in understanding the dynamics of information diffusion in social networks. It is to find a small subset of nodes, which can spread the information or influence to the largest number of nodes. The conventional approaches consider information diffusion through the network in a coarse-grained manner, without taking into account the topical features of information content and users. However, for messages with different topics, the target influential spreaders may vary largely. In this paper, we propose to harness historical propagation data to learn the information diffusion probabilities on topic-level, based on which we use a greedy algorithm to iteratively select a set of influential nodes for a given topic. Specially, we design a three-stage algorithm named TopicRank to mine the most influential spreaders with respect to a specific topic. Given observed propagation data, we first use Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model to learn a topic mixture for each propagation message. Then, the topic-level diffusion probability of an edge is computed by exploiting the propagation actions occurred to it and the topic distribution of these propagation messages. Last, based on the learned topic-level diffusion probabilities, we apply optimized greedy algorithm CLEF to identify influential nodes with respect to a specific topic. Experimental results show that our method significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods when used for topic-sensitive information spread maximization.

      • Exploiting Historical Diffusion Data to Maximize Information Spread in Social Networks

Donghao Zhou,Wenbao Han,Yongjun Wang 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Database Theory and Appli Vol.8 No.2

Information spread maximization is to find a small subset of nodes in social network such that they can maximize the expected spread of information. In this paper, we attempt harnessing historical information cascades data to learn how information propagates in social networks and how to maximize its spread. In particular, we proposed a voting algorithm to learn diffusion probabilities of edges from cascades data. Then a pruning method is developed to remove trivial edges whose weights are smaller than a threshold. Moreover, motivated by the social influence locality, we propose a Local Influence Model to evaluate node's influence within a local area instead of the whole network, which can effectively reduce the computational complexity. Based on Local Influence Model, we use greedy algorithm to find an approximate optimal solution. Experimental results show that our method significantly outperforms state-of-the-art models both in terms of information spread and algorithm runtime.

Life-Cycle Economic Evaluation of Batteries for Electeochemical Energy Storage Systems

        Zhang Donghao,Cai Xiangyu,Song Chunyan,Liu Jie,Ding Jia,Zhong Cheng,Hu Wenbin 대한전기학회 2021 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.16 No.5

Batteries are considered as an attractive candidate for grid-scale energy storage systems (ESSs) application due to their scalability and versatility of frequency integration, and peak/capacity adjustment. Since adding ESSs in power grid will increase the cost, the issue of economy, that whether the benefi ts from peak cutting and valley fi lling can compensate for the cost input of adding energy storage system or not, is particularly concerned. Here we show how the cost of battery deployment can potentially be minimized by carrying out an economic assessment for the cases of diff erent batteries applied in ESSs. To make this analysis, we develop a techno-economic model and apply it to the cases of ESSs with batteries in applications. Our results show that batteries could be attractive for investors even now if appropriate batteries are selected for ESSs applications. Valve regulated lead acid batteries has a lower cost of initial investment, which is suitable for the situations that are sensitive to the initial investment cost. Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO 4 , LFP) battery can be applied in the situations with a high requirement for service life. While zinc-air batteries still have great application prospects to cope with resource depletion due to excellent performance, low cost and low pollution. The current policy debate should therefore be refocused so as to promote technological development and to encompass the removal of such barriers.

Simultaneous Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometric Determination of Total and Individual Phthalic Esters Utilizing Alkaline Hydrolysis and Silyl Derivatization Technique

        Minseon Kim,Donghao Li,Won-Joon Shim,Jae-Ryoung Oh,Jongman Park* 대한화학회 2007 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.28 No.3

Environmentally important phthalic esters have been analyzed by GC-MS in terms of individual phthalic esters or total phthalic esters directly or after derivatization. Derivatization improves the chromatographic characteristics of the highly polar phthalic esters. This study focused on the GC-MS determination of the total phthalic esters and the individual phthalic esters simultaneously. The phthalic esters were hydrolyzed to phthalate and corresponding alcohols in 1 M NaOH solution at 90 oC for 30 min followed by extraction with ethyl acetate after acidifcation. The phthalic acid and alcohols were simultaneously silyl derivatized using bis(trimethylsilyl)trifluoroacetamide (BSTFA) to their corresponding silyl ester and ethers in the mixture of 60% acetone and 40% ethyl acetate at room temperature within 30 min. Because of the high reactivity of BSTFA with the phthalic acid and alcohols effective silyl derivatization was possible simultaneously. GC-MS analysis of the silyl derivatives of phthalic acid and alcohols was performed. The total phthalic ester content was estimated from the analytical result of phthalic silyl ester, while the individual phthalic ester was quantified from the analytical results of alcoholic silyl ethers. This technique was applied to spiked tab water and real seawater samples from the Lake Shihwa in Korea. The results were checked against the results from the direct GC-MS analysis of the phthalic esters and reasonable recoveries with high sensitivity were achieved. The recoveries were higher than 75% with low relative standard deviation (below 10%).

Decentralized Constrained Tracking Control for Interconnected Nonlinear Systems with Interconnection and Input Delays

        Zhifeng Gao,Donghao Liu,Moshu Qian 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2022 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.20 No.4

In this paper, a novel decentralized control approach is studied for interconnected nonlinear systems with unknown interconnection delays, uncertain input delays, and asymmetric full state dynamic constraints. The broad learning system (BLS) is introduced to approximate the unstructured uncertainties and a nonlinear observer is designed to identify the unmeasurable states. To guarantee the normal operation of the considered state constraints systems without any feasibility conditions, a unified barrier function (UBF) is developed. By utilized the commandfiltered backstepping control technique, a decentralized constrained tracking control scheme is proposed. It is proved that all signals of the closed-loop stability and tracking performance could be guaranteed by the proposed control method and asymmetric full states dynamic constraints are not violated. Numerical simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

      • <i>RARβ2</i> hypermethylation is associated with poor recurrence-free survival in never-smokers with adenocarcinoma of the lung

        Kim, Yujin,Jin, DongHao,Lee, Bo Bin,Cho, Eun Yoon,Han, Joungho,Shim, Young Mog,Kim, Duk-Hwan BioMed Central 2015 Clinical epigenetics Vol.7 No.-

<P><B>Background</B></P><P>This study was aimed at investigating if the effect of <I>RARβ2</I> hypermethylation on recurrence-free survival (RFS) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) depends on one’s smoking status and specific interacting proteins.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>We retrospectively analyzed the expressions of five proteins using immunohistochemistry in archival formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissues from 578 NSCLC patients who had undergone surgical resection from 1994 through 2004. Promoter methylation of <I>RARβ2</I> was assessed by bisulfite pyrosequencing. Recurrence was found in 268 (46%) of 578 NSCLCs with a median follow-up period of 4.8 years. Overexpression of β-catenin, c-MET, cyclin D1, and EGFR occurred in 55%, 72%, 51%, and 41% of the patients, respectively. E-cadherin expression was negative in 62% of the patients, and <I>RARβ2</I> hypermethylation was found in 37%. The abnormal expression of <I>c-MET</I> (<I>P</I> = 0.002) and <I>EGFR</I> (<I>P</I> = 0.001) was found to be highly prevalent in never-smokers. <I>RARβ2</I> hypermethylation was significantly associated with poor recurrence-free survival (RFS) in 128 never-smokers with adenocarcinoma (<I>P</I> = 0.01) For parsimonious model building, the five proteins were clustered into three groups (β-catenin and E-cadherin; c-MET; cyclin D1 and EGFR) by an unsupervised hierarchical clustering and were included in a multivariate analysis. Cox proportional hazard analysis showed that <I>RARβ2</I> hypermethylation was significantly associated with poor RFS in 128 never-smokers with adenocarcinoma (adjusted hazard ratio [HR] = 2.19, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.28 to 3.47; <I>P</I> = 0.009), after adjusting for interacting proteins.</P><P><B>Conclusions</B></P><P>The present study suggests that <I>RARβ2</I> hypermethylation may be an independent prognostic factor of RFS in never-smokers with adenocarcinoma of the lung.</P>

Research on the dynamic evolution of residual stress in thermal processing of diesel engine blocks based on FEM

        Guizhong Tian,Zhengyu Ma,Donghao Zhao,Honggen Zhou,Xuwen Jing,Zhancheng Xie,Guochao Li 대한기계학회 2021 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.35 No.6

The residual stresses (RS) generated during the thermal processing processes such as casting and heat treatment is one of the fundamental causes of irreversible deformation of diesel engine bodies (DEBs). However, previous studies only focused on the RS generated from casting or the effect of annealing heat treatment on the RS in castings unilaterally, and the analytical results were far from the actual conditions. Therefore, this paper proposes a comprehensive research method to consider the whole dynamic evolution of the casting from the RS generated by casting to the stress relief by heat treatment. Numerical simulation of DEBs casting process is carried out by PROCAST, and the results of casting RS obtained from the simulation are imported into ABAQUS, and then numerical simulation of annealing heat treatment is carried out for the DEB casting model with casting RS, so as to realize the analysis of dynamic evolution of RS from casting to heat treatment.

In situ measurement-based partitioning behavior of perfluoroalkyl acids in the atmosphere

        Seung-Kyu Kim,Donghao Li,Kurunthachalam Kannan 대한환경공학회 2020 Environmental Engineering Research Vol.25 No.3

Environmental fate of ionizable organic pollutants such as perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are of increasing interest but has not been well understood because of uncertain values for parameters related with atmospheric interphase partitioning behavior. In the present study, not only the values for air-water partition coefficient (KAW) and dissociation constant (pKa) of PFAAs were induced by adjusting to in situ measurements of air-water distribution coefficient between vapor phase and rainwater but also gas-particle partition coefficients were also estimated using three-phase partitioning model of ionizable organic pollutants, in situ measurements of PFAAs in aerosol and air vapor phase, and obtained parameter values. The pKa values of PFAAs we obtained were close to the minimum values suggested in literature except for perfluorooctane sulfonic acids, and COSMOtherm-modeled KAW values were assessed to more appropriate among suggested values. When applying parameter values we obtained, it was predicted that air particle-associated fate and transport of PFAAs could be negligible and PFAAs could distribute ubiquitously along the transection from urban to rural region by pH-dependent phase transfer in air. Our study is expected to have some implications in prediction of the environmental redistribution of other ionizable organic compounds.
