청소년 스포츠활동 지도자의 성별, 유형별 지도역량 탐색

        김동은 ( Kim¸ Dong-eun ),이미리 ( Lee¸ Meery ) 미래를 여는 청소년학회 2019 미래청소년학회지 Vol.16 No.4

The purpose of the present study is to test the moderating effect of satisfaction in adolescent experiential learning activities with regards to the effect of school adjustment on adolescent career identity. The research problems are, first, “Are there, depending on gender, differences in school adjustment, satisfaction in experiential learning activities, and career identity?”; second, “What are the effects of school adjustment and satisfaction in experiential learning activities on adolescent career identity?”; and third, “What is the moderating effect of satisfaction in experiential learning activities on how school adjustment affects adolescent career identity?” The research subjects were taken from 3rd year middle school year 1 panel data from the ‘Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2012’. The study conducted T-test and regression analysis for its analysis methods. The results of the study are as follows. First, the study found male students exhibit higher levels of adjustment than female students in terms of learning activities and school rules, which are sub-factors of school adjustment depending on gender. Second, the study found school adjustment has a significant effect on career identity. Third, an analysis of the moderating effect of satisfaction in adolescent experiential learning activities with regards to the effect of school adjustment on career identity found that school rules and learning activities, which are sub-factors of school adjustment, have a significant effect. These results imply that adolescents acquire a stable career identity involving goals, interests, and skills concerning a career when various experiential learning activities are achieved in addition to fulfilling the original functions of the school. The formation of a career identity during adolescence allows adolescents to understand themselves, their aptitude, and their career as the basis for reasonably choosing a career. Although grades are important factors for adolescents considering the educational reality oriented toward college entrance exams, it is necessary to put forth the effort to change such an environment.

Design and Validation of a Passive Motion Scaling Mechanism Prototype for Microsurgery

Dongeun Choi,Tae-Hoon Lee,Jae-Bok Song,Woosub Lee 한국정밀공학회 2022 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.23 No.9

Since the advent of the commercial da Vinci surgical system, microsurgical robotic systems have been increasingly investigated. These systems improve the accuracy and dexterity of surgeries using a computerized motion scaling function between a surgeon’s hand and surgical instrument. However, the manufacturing process of these systems is expensive owing to the use of multiple sensors, actuators, and controllers. Additionally, certain limitations exist, such as an increase in the size of the operating room to accommodate the robotic system and the absence of tactile force feedback. To address these problems, we propose a passive motion scaling mechanism for microsurgery. Based on the pantograph mechanism, we downscale the linear displacement of the surgeon’s hand and transfer it to the surgical instrument. Furthermore, the rotational displacement of the surgeon’s hand in an actual surgery is transmitted to the surgical instrument on a 1:1 scale by applying a parallelogram mechanism. We designed and fabricated a prototype capable of transmitting linear and rotational displacements (pitch and yaw) of the surgeon’s hand with three degrees of freedom (DOFs) and two DOFs, respectively, by combining the two mechanisms. The obtained experimental results verify the motion scaling function of the developed prototype.

The Effects of Glucose on the Expression of MMP and TIMP in Cultured Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cells

Dongeun Lee,Jae Suk Kim,Ho Kyun Cho,Joo Hwa Lee 대한안과학회 2004 Korean Journal of Ophthalmology Vol.18 No.2

This study evaluated the effects of glucose in human retinal pigment epithelial(RPE) cells to investigate the cause of diabetic retinal complications. Human RPE cells were cultured in media containing 5.5 mM, 11.0 mM, and 16.5 mM D-glucose. The present study performed proliferation and migration assays, and conducted western blotting for the protein expression, as well as RT-PCR for the mRNA expression, of MMP-2 and -9, and TIMP-1 and -2. The results of the western blotting analysis showed that increasing glucose concentration significantly increased the expression of MMP-2 and -9, but significantly decreased the expression of TIMP-1 and -2. Moreover, the RT-PCR results indicated significant increases in the mRNA expression of MMP-2 and -9, as well as of TIMP-1 and -2, by raising glucose concentration. This study provides fundamental data for future research on the mechanism of retinal complication in diabetic patients.

Development and Preclinical Trials of a Surgical Robot System for Endoscopic Endonasal Transsphenoidal Surgery

        Dongeun Choi,Sun Ho Kim,Woosub Lee,Sungchul Kang,김계리 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.3

In endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery, for the treatment of deep brain tumors, such as craniopharyngiomas, an endoscope and surgical instruments are inserted through a nasal cavity into the lesion to remove the tumor. This has recently become the preferred technique because there is less likelihood of neural damage and a low complication rate. Manually controlled rigid surgical instruments are available for this procedure, but they provide limited dexterity and field of view. Therefore, some areas remain inaccessible when these surgical instruments are used. To solve these problems, we propose a surgical robot system for endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery. We defined a target surgical space based on an analysis by a surgeon and designed surgical instruments to reach this target space. The system consists of two robot arms, end-effectors, surgical instruments, a master device, a control device, and a robot base. The robot arm has an end-effector exhibiting two degrees of freedom (DOFs) and an inner channel, into which flexible surgical instruments are inserted. The flexible surgical instrument can reach the target space by steering the robot arm and end-effector. The outer diameter of the end-effector is 4 mm, and the diameter of the instrument channel, into which commercial surgical instruments can be integrated, is 2 mm. We motorized the motion of the robot arms, end-effectors, and instruments and included motion capability with thenecessary precision, and developed a master device and control device to operate them. The surgical robot base is used to place the surgical robot before the operation and allow for manual operation. In a cadaver experiment, it was confirmed that the robot system can reach a larger area than is accessible with current surgical instruments, and it can support or remove tissues in the target surgical space. We received productive feedback from the surgeon conducting the experiment, and further research is underway to improve the robot system.

A Scalable and Flexible Repository for Big Sensor Data

        Dongeun Lee,Jaesik Choi,Heonshik Shin IEEE 2015 IEEE SENSORS JOURNAL Vol.15 No.12

<P>Data generation rates of sensors are rapidly increasing, reaching a limit such that storage expansion cannot keep up with the data growth. We propose a new big data archiving scheme that handles the huge volume of sensor data with an optimized lossy coding. Our scheme leverages spatial and temporal correlations inherent in typical sensor data. The spatio-temporal correlations, observed in quality adjustable sensor data, enable us to compress a massive amount of sensor data without compromising distinctive attributes in sensor signals. Sensor data fidelity can also be decreased gradually. In order to maximize storage efficiency, we derive an optimal storage configuration for this data aging scenario. Experiments show outstanding compression ratios of our scheme and the optimality of storage configuration that minimizes system-wide distortion of sensor data under a given storage space.</P>

Understanding tourists’ urban images with geotagged photos using convolutional neural networks

        Dongeun Kim,강영옥,Yerim Park,Nayeon Kim,Juyoon Lee 대한공간정보학회 2020 Spatial Information Research Vol.28 No.2

This study aims to track down representative images and elements of sightseeing attractions by analyzing the photos uploaded on Flickr by Seoul tourists with the image mining technique. For this purpose, we crawled the photos uploaded on Flickr and classified users into residents and tourists; drew 11 region of attractions (RoA) in Seoul by analyzing the spatial density of the photos; classified the photos into 1000 categories and then 14 categories by grouping 1000 categories by utilizing Inception V3 model; analyzed the characteristics of the photo image by RoA. Key findings of this study are that tourists are interested in old palaces, historical monuments, stores, food, etc. and those key elements are distinguished from the major sightseeing attractions in Seoul. More specifi- cally, tourists are more interested in palaces and cultural assets in Jongno and Namsan, food and restaurants in Shinchon, Hongdae, Itaewon, Yeouido, Garosu-gil, and Apgujeong, war monuments or specific artifacts in War Memorial and the National Museum of Korea, facilities, temples, and pictures of cultural properties in Samsung Station, and toyshops in Jamsil. This study is meaningful in three folds: first, it tries to analyze urban image through the photos posted on SNS by tourists. Second, it uses deep learning technique to analyze the photos. Third, it classifies and analyzes the whole photos posted by Seoul tourists while most of other researches focus on only specific objects. However, this study has a limitation because the Inception v3 model which has been used in this research is a pre-trained model created by training the ImageNet data. In future research, it is necessary to classify photo categories according to the purpose of tourism and retrain the model by creating new training data set focusing on elements of Korea.
