1920년대 경성(京城)의 역사(歷史)/인문자원(人文資源) 아카이브 구축(構築)의 사례(事例) -『경성백승(京城百勝)』을 중심으로-

『경성백승』은 1924년 6월 25일부터 8월 16일까지 <東亞日報> 문화면에 게재되었던 ‘一百洞町, 一百名物, 내 동리 名物’ 연재물을 재정리하여, 1929년 10월에 동아일보사 출판부에서 단행본으로 출간한 것이다. 1910년에서부터 1920년대 사이에는 朝鮮半島 전역을 다룬 案內書나, 국내주요 도시의 도시 안내서가 많이 출간되었다. 특히 경성의 지역 안내서는 타 도시와 비교해 볼 때 압도적으로 많았는데, 『경성백승』은 이 책들과 여러 면에서 차이가 있다. 이 책은 발간 및 기획주체가 宋鎭禹, 洪命熹, 鄭寅普 등의 민족지도자가 참여했고, 무엇보다 경성의 역사/인문자원의 원고를 당시 경성에 거주하면서 동아일보를 구독했던 독자들이 작성했다는 점에서 구분된다. 즉, 『경성백승』은 다른 경성 안내서와 다르게 ‘조선인에 의해서, 조선인이 선별한 경성의 주요 역사/인문자원이라는 것이다. 이 글에서는 이러한 『경성백승』의 전반적인 내용과 특성, 이 책에 수록된 1920년대 경성의 역사/인문자원의 아카이브의 특징 및 활용 방안에 대해서 살펴보았다. In this article, we looked at the character of “Gyeongseong Baekseung” published by the Dong-A Ilbo in 1929 and the meaning of this book. This book was published in October 1929 by the Dong-A Ilbo Publishing House, summarizing the series published in the Dong-A Ilbo culture section from June 25 to August 16, 1924 Between 1910 and 1920, guidebooks on the entire Joseon Peninsula and city guides for major cities in Korea, Gyeongseong, Busan, Daegu, Pyongyang and Kaesong, were published in a flurry. Among them, the number of 'regional guides' for Gyeongseong is overwhelming compared to other cities. However, “Gyeongseong Baekseung” differs from these books in many ways. Most of the “Gyeongseong Guidebook” and “Regional Guidebook” published during this period were published by the Governor-General of Joseon or published by related organizations. However, the book was organized by the Dong-A Ilbo, which was recognized as a national newspaper at the time, participated in the publication process by national leaders such as Song Jin-woo, Hong Myung-hee and Jeong In-bo, and most of all, it was written by readers who subscribed to the Dong-A Ilbo while living in Gyeongseong. In other words, “Gyeongseong Baekseung” is distinguished in that it is the main historical/human resources of Gyeongseong selected by the Joseon people, unlike other Gyeongseong guides. This article examines the overall contents and characteristics of the “Gyeongseong Baekseung” with these characteristics, and focuses on the characteristics of the 1920s Gyeongseong’s historical/human resources archives in the book, and how to study and utilize them in the future, and intends to proceed with the discussion.

The Knight’s Tale and The Miller’s Tale as One Tale

Lee, Dong-Choon. The Knight’s Tale and The Miller’s Tale as One Tale. The New Studies of English Language & Literature 49 (2011): 103-131. The first two tales-the Knight’s Tale and the Miller’s Tale-of the Canterbury Tales are the representative examples that reflect not only the narrative technique of the “juxtaposition of opposites,” but also Chaucer’s narrative tendencies. The special poetic achievements (and limitations) of each are seen most clearly when the two tales are read together, one in the light of the other, as their juxtaposition invites. The Knight’s Tale and the Miller’s Tale, when read together, are the representative examples which tell what Chaucer attempts to show through his narrative technique of the juxtaposition of opposites and what attitude he expects from a reader. Chaucer does not mechanically indoctrinate an unique view of the world to the readers. He, avoiding his authorial stance on a certain limited view embodied in each tale, forces the specific views of the narrative onto the reader. It is through the juxtaposition between the completely different two tales in such things as tale-teller, plot, character, language, and the narrative voice that Chaucer creates the multiplicity of voice and the plurality of theme, and he trains a reader to grope for meaning from various sides. We studied the origin and development of the code of Silla chivalry, the Silla people’s idea of the human body, Silla chivalry’s notion of the human body, physical exercises and the meaning of these in the aspects of the history of the modern physical education. So we concluded; 1. The code of Silla chivalry took on the characteristics of the civil youth’s exercises, and was changed into the national organization, and had connection with politics. Thus it could form a powerful and beautiful body and mind through horse riding, the art of riding, swordsmanship, spearsmanship, hunting, sword dance, chukkuk Korean traditional football, and singing and dancing. 2. Silla chivalry’s exercises including singing, dancing, and military arts were performed during their pilgrimage throughout well known mountains and rivers in order to train their bodies. And it became the spirit of our native exercise from which our people’s tradition and ideals were also generated. The significance lies in the fact that based on this strong spirit, the great work of the Unification of the Three states was accomplished, and the spirit established and influenced our people’s tradition of physical education.

This paper addresses the extended RED to be adapted in various network conditions for congestion control. RED has some problems in various network conditions due to the fixed operation of parameters. P_max and TH_min. That is, if the traffic load is relatively small the link utility can be too low and if the load is too large the management of queue can result in various difficulties. In this paper we propose the long-term queue average method in which those parameters of P_max and TH_min can be automatically adjusted based on the variations of network load. The experimental result shows that the proposed method can overcome the problems caused by RED.

In this paper, a novel current control strategy for PWM current source converter is proposed, applying a multivariable state feedback control. In this converter system, a sinusoidal input current, unity power factor, low current ripple are obtained. In addition, fast transient response of dc link current is achieved.

Background: Pathogenic fungi infect humans, especially immunocompromised patients, with superficial or deeply invasive pattern. In the past 20 years, fungal infections have been increased dramatically resulted by increment of organ transplantation, cancer, AIDS patients, or use of broad-spectrum antibacterial agents. Fungal infections are now important causes of morbidity and mortality of hospitalized patients. but there is no effective antifungal antibiotics as well as antibacterial antibiotics Objective: Effective new antifungal antibiotics are needed for the treatment of mycosis. So in an effort to develop effective antifungal antibiotics, we screened over 600 isolates of Streptomyces spp. from soil. Methods: Antifungal producing strain was selected using disk diffusion method, An antifungal substance (AF1) was purified with ethyl acetate extraction, silica gel column chromatography and reverse phase HPLC. MICs of AF1 were detected by agar dilition method. Results: The compound showed UV maxima of 307, 321, 340, 359 nm indicating methylpentaene. Minimum inhibitory concentrations of the AF1 were 3.7 ㎍/ml against mold, and 3.7 - 7.4 ㎍/ml against Candida species. AF1 was also active against Cryptococcus neoformans, with MIC of 0.9 ㎍/ml. The concentration of AF1 for K^+ ion release from human red blood cell and hemolysis were 5 ㎍/ml. Conclusion: The antibiotic purified from culture broth of Streptomyces sp. WCM-9 was a polyene antifungal antibiotic which have broad spectrum antifungal activity.
