        저자들은 65세 남자 환자의 위 중부체부 대만부 전벽에 발생한 점막하 종양에 대하여 3년간 추적관찰 중 크기증가소견으로 쐐기 절재술을 시행하였으며, 조직검사 및 면역 조직 화학 검사에서 위 신경초종으로 진단한 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Gastric schwannoma is a very rare gastrointestinal benign tumor, which represents only 0.2% of all gastric tumors and 4% of all benign gastric tumors. We report a case of gastric schwannoma with enlargement of size through serial endoscopic examination. Endoscopic examination showed a hard mass of 4 x 3 cm in size with normal overlying gastric mucosa on the great curvature of the mid-body of stomach. The pathological finding revealed a picture of spindle cell tumor. Immunohistochemical stain was strongly positive for S-100 protein and non-reactive for CD34, C-kit and smooth muscle actin, thus leading to the diagnosis of gastric schwannoma.

      • 위 MALT 림프종에서 다발성 림프절 전이로 오인된 동시성 림프절 결핵 1예

        28세 남자가 내시경적 점막절제술을 통해 저등급 위MALT 림프종으로 진단되었다. 병기설정을 위해 18F-FDG PET 검사를 시행하였고 우측 쇄골상부, 우측상/하부 기관주위, AP window 부위에 강한 섭취가 관찰되어 전이성 림프절로 판단하였다. 그러나, 우측 쇄골상부 림프절에서 시행한 절제생검에서 만성육아종성염증소견이 관찰되었고 조직의 결핵 중합효소연쇄반응에서도 양성 반응을 보였다. 2개월간 항결핵제의 사용 후 시행한 추적 컴퓨터단층촬영 검사에서 림프절 크기의 감소를 보여 최종적으로 위 MALT 림프종에서 광범위 림프절 전이로 오인된 동시성 림프절 결핵으로 진단되었다. A 28-year-old man was diagnosed as gastric MALT lymphoma in diagnostic EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection). He subsequently underwent an 18F-FDG PET. 18F-FDG PET showed intense multifocal uptake in right supraclavicular, right upper and lower paratracheal, and AP window areas that was considered radiologically to represent widespread metastatic lymphadenopathy. Excisional biopsy of a supraclavicular lymph node, however, revealed chronic granulomatous lymphadenitis with a positive reaction of Tb-nested PCR. After antituberculosis treatment for 2 months, a follow-up CT scan showed complete resolution of the lesions. Intense 18F-FDG uptake could be due to an infectious process such as synchronous tuberculous lymphadenitis. Therefore, this could mimic a malignant condition such as lymphoma with extensive lymph node metastasis due to a false-positive finding, which may lead to a misdiagnosis.

      • Quality characteristics of pH indicator film containing purple sweet potato extract and the color change during kmichi fermentation

        Recently, a lot of attention has been paid to food packaging that can change the color to show the quality or freshness of the food in real time. As the demand for safe and high-quality food increases, smart packaging with natural pigments and biopolymers was introduced as the latest technology. In this study, a biopolymer PVA film containing purple sweet potato powder (70% EtOH extract, PSP film) was prepared and the pH stability and color change of the extract were examined. FT-IR data showed the relationship between anthocyanin pigments and PVA in the film. The morphology of the film was also investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Finally, the indicator film was applied to kimchi in order to check acidity and the color change of the film during storage at 4℃ was observed. Our data showed that the acidity and freshness of kimchi can be easily identified using the pH indicator PSP film.

        목질계 폐기물의 에너지 자원화 기술 개발

        Interests have been focused to the renewable energy because energy cost of fossil fuel increased and global climate change caused by CO₂ evolution became severe. To overcome these problems, it is essential to develop the energy conversion technologies of renewable resources. Therefore, production and utilization state of wood and woody waste was firstly investigated and then various technologies (pyrolysis, gasification, and combustion) converting the wood and woody waste to energy were summarized. Some case studies of woody waste utilization in europe was introduced with the policy of EU countries, Economical aspect of woody waste was compared with the current fossil fuels and the energy policy of wood and woody waste was suggested.

        Purification and Characterization of Biliverdin-binding Protein in Lymantria dispar

        KBr 밀도구배 초원심분리와 gel filtration chromatography, preparative electrophoersis을 이용하여 매미나방의 종령 유충 혈림프로부터 biliverdin 결합단백질을 분리, 정제하였다. 정제된 BP는 SDS-PAGE로 소단위 분자량이 약 80kDa, FPLC gel filtration을 사용한 전체분자량은 480 kDa인 것으로 확인되었다. 중성지질로서 triacylglycerol과 diacylglycerol이 BP에 결합되었고, monoacylglycerol은 존재하지 않았다. BP의 아미노산 조성은 glutamic acid 와 aspartic acid가 상대적으로 높은 비율로 존재하였으나 methionine과 tyrosine는 낮은 함량을 보였고 tryptophane은 존재하지 않았다. 또한 BP는 유충시기는 물론 용시기와 성충시기의 혈림프에서도 발견되었다. Biliverdin-binding protein (BP) was isolated from the last instar larval haemolymph of the gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar and its physicochemical properties were characterized. To purifiy BP from the larva, the haemolymph was subjected to KBr density gradient ultracentrifugation, gel filtration, and preparative electrophoresis. Molecular mass of BP subunits was estimated to be approximately 80 kDa, and native molecular mass found to be 480 kDa by FPLC gel filtration, indicating that BP is a hexamer. BP contains triacylglycerol and diacylglycerol but not monoacylgycerol. Amino acid analysis of BP revealed that this protein is rich in Asp/Asn and Glu/Gln and deficient in Met and Tyr and none of Trp. BP is present in adult haemolymph as well as in larval and pupal haemolymph, but its titre was gradually decreased during postembryonic development.

        Case report: Reinterpretation of Follow-Up, High-Resolution Manometry for Esophageal Motility Disorders Based on the Updated Chicago Classification

        The aim of this study was to assess changes between primary classification of esophageal motility disease and follow-up classification by high resolution manometry (HRM) and to determine whether previously classified diseases could be recategorized according to the updated Chicago Classification published in 2011. We reviewed individual medical records and HRM findings twice for each of 13 subjects. We analyzed primary and follow-up HRM findings based on the original Chicago Classification. We then reclassified the same HRM findings according to the updated Chicago Classification. This case series revealed the variable course of esophageal motility disorders; some patients experienced improvement, whereas others experienced worsening symptoms. Four cases were reclassified from variant achalasia to peristaltic abnormality, one case from diffuse esophageal spasm to type II achalasia and one case from peristaltic abnormality to variant achalasia. Four unclassified findings were recategorized as variant achalasia. In conclusion, esophageal motility disorders are variable and may not be best conceptualized as an independent group. Original classifications can be recategorized according to the updated Chicago Classification system. More research is needed on this topic. (Gut Liver 2013; 7:377 381)

        양서류 피부 상처회복과정 중 각질화세포 cytokeratin의 분포

        The system of wound healing is very complex biological processing that includes inflammatory, reepithelialization, and matrix construction. For identification of the transitional pathway of the keratinocytes, we have employed immunohistochemical analysis using cytokeratin antibody after wounding. Epithelium in skin of the frog(Bombina orientalis) was examined with transmission electron microscopy. Cytokeratin was expressed in normal basal and gland cavity cells. At 3-hour basal layer cells were strong positive, however cells of the upper layer were negative reaction. Day1 and 2 after post-wounding, regenerating epithelial cell layer was positive reaction, especially basal layer cells were strong positive. At day 10 after wounding, the degree of positive reaction to basal cells of regenerating epithelial tissue was equal to day 7 wound tissue. At day of 19th, basal and spinous layer cells were strong positive reaction. Regenerating epithelial cells were positive but some basal cells were strong positive at day 27. From this result, we identified that the migration of the keratinocytes in amphibian skin wounds is initiated from basal layer fells and the keratinocytes migrate into basal and middle of the wound area. 상처회복은 염증, 재상피화 그리고 기질의 재형성등이 관여하는 복잡한 과정이다. 이중 재상피화에 관여하는 각질화세포의 이동경로를 분석하기 위하여 무당개구리 피부 상처유도 후 투과전자현미경과 cytokeratin에 대한 조직면역화학법을 이용하였다. 정상조직의 cytokeratin발현은 기저층의 세포들과 선상피에서 확인되었다. 상처 유도후 3시간 조직에서, 기저세포층에서 강한 반응이 관찰되었고, 1일과 2일 사이에서는 재생되는 각질화세포에서 강한 면역반응이 확인되었다. 상처반응 중기인 7일부터 10일 사이에서도 재생된 세포의 기저층세포에서 강한 반응이 일어났다. 19일경과의 조직에서는 기저층과 유극층의 세포들에서 cytokeratin의 발현이 증가하였다. 따라서, 재상피화에 관여하는 각질화세포는 기저층의 세포로부터 시작하여 상처부위로 이동하여 과립층과 유극층으로 분화됨으로서 재상피가 진행되었다.
