Surface Hardness Prediction of CrN Thin Film Coating on AL7075-T6 Alloy Using Fuzzy Logic System

Erfan Zalnezhad,Ahmed Aly Diaa Mohammed Sarhan,Mohd Hamdi 한국정밀공학회 2013 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.

In recent years, CrN coating has been identified as one of the most promising protective layers on surfaces of tools and dies due to its excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and surface hardness. This study presents the predicting of chromium nitride (CrN) coating surface hardness on AL7075-T6 using fuzzy logic technique. First, Al7075-T6 was coated with CrN at different parameter conditions, after which the surfaces hardness of the CrN-coated specimens was measured using a micro hardness machine. Next, a fuzzy logic model was established to predict the surface hardness of CrN coating on AL7075-T6 with respect to changes in input process parameters, DC power, temperature, and nitrogen flow rate based on the trained data obtained from the micro hardness test. Three membership functions were allocated in connection with each model input. Finally, five new experimental tests were carried out to verify the predicted results achieved via the fuzzy logic model. The results indicate an agreement between the fuzzy model and experimental results with 94.664% accuracy.

Assessment of Anticholinergic Use After Fading of BTX-A Effects in Refractory Idiopathic Overactive Bladder: A Prospective Blinded Randomized Trial

        M.A. Elbaset,Diaa-Eldin Taha,Ahmed S. El-Hefnawy,Mohamad H. Zahran,A.A Shokeir 대한배뇨장애요실금학회 2019 International Neurourology Journal Vol.23 No.3

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of re-treatment with anticholinergics on refractory idiopathic overactive bladder (OAB) previously treated with intravesical botulinum neurotoxin type A (BTX-A) injections. Methods: One hundred patients were initially managed by intravesical injections of 100 IU of BTX-A. After the effects of BTX-A faded, patients were randomized into 2 groups: group A patients received solifenacin (10 mg) for 12 weeks (study group), while group B patients received placebo treatment for 12 weeks (control group), then subsequently received solifenacin (10 mg) for another 6 weeks. All patients underwent preoperative urodynamic testing. Patients were asked to complete the validated overactive bladder symptoms score (OABSS) and incontinence quality of life (I-QoL) instruments after the effects of intravesical BTX-A faded and at 12 weeks of follow-up. Univariate and multivariate analyses of the factors affecting treatment response were conducted. Results: At 12 weeks of follow-up, in group A, all OABSS items, including the total score, had improved significantly (P<0.0001). Group A had lower frequency and amplitude of detrusor overactivity and detrusor leak point pressure (P<0.0001, P=0.03, and P=0.01, respectively). Cystometric capacity also increased significantly (P=0.007), as did all I-QoL parameters. In a comparison of patients with failed treatment and patients with successful treatment, female sex, repeated intravesical BTX-A injections, and increased bladder capacity were statistically significant (P=0.001, P=0.0001, and P=0.002, respectively). Repeated intravesical BTX-A injections and increased bladder capacity were independent factors predicting treatment success. Conclusions: In patients with refractory idiopathic OAB, reuse of anticholinergics could be an effective treatment option in patients after the effects of BTX-A fade. Repeated intravesical BTX-A injections and increased cystometric capacity could affect treatment response.

      • Masked Face Recognition via a Combined SIFT and DLBP Features Trained in CNN Model

Aljarallah, Nahla Fahad,Uliyan, Diaa Mohammed International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.6

The latest global COVID-19 pandemic has made the use of facial masks an important aspect of our lives. People are advised to cover their faces in public spaces to discourage illness from spreading. Using these face masks posed a significant concern about the exactness of the face identification method used to search and unlock telephones at the school/office. Many companies have already built the requisite data in-house to incorporate such a scheme, using face recognition as an authentication. Unfortunately, veiled faces hinder the detection and acknowledgment of these facial identity schemes and seek to invalidate the internal data collection. Biometric systems that use the face as authentication cause problems with detection or recognition (face or persons). In this research, a novel model has been developed to detect and recognize faces and persons for authentication using scale invariant features (SIFT) for the whole segmented face with an efficient local binary texture features (DLBP) in region of eyes in the masked face. The Fuzzy C means is utilized to segment the image. These mixed features are trained significantly in a convolution neural network (CNN) model. The main advantage of this model is that can detect and recognizing faces by assigning weights to the selected features aimed to grant or provoke permissions with high accuracy.

In the present work, we isolated and identified Aspergillus sydowii NYKA 510 as the most potent laccase producer. Its medium constituents were optimized to produce the highest possible amount of laccase, which was after 7 days at 31℃ and pH 5.2. Banana peel and peptone excelled in inducing laccase production at concentrations of 15.1 and 2.60 g/l, respectively. Addition of copper sulfate elevated enzyme yield to 145%. The fungus was employed in a microbial fuel cell (MFC). The best performance was obtained at 2000 Ω achieving 0.76 V, 380 mAm-2, 160 mWm-2, and 0.4 W. A project to design a self-sufficient lighting unit was implemented by employing a system of 2 sets of 4 MFCs each, connected in series, for electricity generation. A scanning electron microscopy image of A. sydowii NYKA 510 was utilized in algorithmic form generation equations for the design. The mixed patterning and patterned customized mass approach were developed by the authors and chosen for application in the design.

Poly(DMAEMA-co-MPS) Coated Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles as Smart Drug Carriers with pH-controlled on-off Release

        Mohammad Hegazy,Nahla Rahoui,Ahmed Abou- Elyazed,Diaa Eldin Fouad,Xin Huang,Yudong Huang 한국고분자학회 2019 폴리머 Vol.43 No.3

In this paper, pH-responsive nanocarriers based on mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN) modified with the pH-sensitive polymer: poly(N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) were constructed, characterized and tested to evaluate their efficacy as drug delivery systems (DDS). The hybrid nanocarriers were synthesized successfully via a simultaneous copolymerization reaction between two monomers; 2-dimethylamino-ethylmethacrylate (DMAEMA) and 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS) within the mesopores of MSN. Exploiting the polymerizable moiety of MPS together with its alkoxysilane moity susceptible to condensation with silanols surface onto silica, MPS comonomer can act as a bridge for yielding a robust and simple hybrid consisting of MSN-P(DMAEMA-co-MPS). In addition, the grafted PDMAEMA serves as efficient gatekeeper to adjust the encapsulation and in vitro release of cargos loaded inside the pores by altering pH values of the medium. These hybrid nanoparticles showed a high loading capacity with quick release in acidic pH, which exists mainly in the diseases environments e.g. inflammatory and cancerous sites.

Optimizing the Cutting Parameters for Better Surface Quality in 2.5D Cutting Utilizing Titanium Coated Carbide Ball End Mill

Nik Masmiati Nik Pa,Ahmed Aly Diaa Sarhan,Mohd Hamdi Abd Shukor 한국정밀공학회 2012 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol. No.

The 2.5D cutting operations are intended for creating NC programs for components with pockets, lugs, flat sections etc, for which,it is too time consuming to produce a 3D volume model of the component. A 2.5D machining processes can perform the cutting operation only in two of the three axes at a time, the movement of the cutter on the main planes before moves to the next depth produced a terrace-like approximation of the required shape. However, adopting the right cutting parameters could be an ideal solution to improve the product quality. This study focused on optimizing the cutting parameters for higher surface quality in 2.5D cutting utilizing titanium coated carbide ball end mill. These parameters include; machined surface inclined angle, axial depth of cut, spindle speed and feed rate. Taguchi optimization method is the most effective method to optimize the cutting parameters, in which the most significant response variables could be identified. The standard orthogonal array of L9 (34) is used, while the signal to noise (S/N), target performance measurement (TPM) response analysis and analysis of variance (Pareto ANOVA) methods are carried out to determine which parameters are statistically significant. Finally, confirmation tests are carried out to investigate the optimization improvements.
