      • 차세대제어반 경보시스템에 대한 하향식 적합성 평가 실험

        This study assessed the acceptability to the Korea Next Generation Reactor (KNGR) alarm system man-machine interface (MMI) that is associated with alarm status coding, acknowledgement of alarms, alarm presentation methods, and alarm priorities. Three subject operations participated an experiment with two test scenarios (LOCA and SGTR). A structured questionnaire asking the suitability of alarm system MMI was given each subject and responses were recorded during debriefing session. The following major issues were identified: (1) when there were a lot of alarms displayed, a batch of alarms could be acknowledged inadvertently; (2) when multiple alarm sounds occurred simultaneously, dominated sound (such as a sound with less intensity) was not clearly audible; (3) alarm priorities were not correctly and promptly discriminated on display panel so that a key hole effect occurred to process the alarm priority discrimination.

      • 시각검사 적성평가에 관한 연구

        This research developed a test predicting success on the CRT inspection job from behaviorial samples of the elemantary tasks. Randomly selected 15 CRT inspectors were given the test under a uniform condition and procedure. There was a significant correlation between the test scores and the job performance measures rated by inspection supervisors. The correlation between test scores and performance measures was not accounted for by the intervening effect of inspection experience. Statistical discriminant analysis showed that the test scores could correctly classify 80% of the testees into good or poor inspectors. To investigate consistincy in test results two equivalent forms of the test were given to another 12 subjects. The two sets of scores were highly correlated.

      • 축소형원자로운전원의 진단전략분류

        Halden Reactor Project(HRP) recently studied what kind of diagnostic strategies were adopted by the operators during reactor disturbances. The diagnostic strategies were classified into Hypothesis Driven, Data Driven, Topographic, and Symptomatic from verbal protocol data analysis. It seems that they did not use any systematic procedure for strategy classification. This study developed a simple classification method depending on the mental models used during the diagnostic process. A pilot test found the same results as that of HRP that complex, not a single strategies were usually adopted by the operators during the diagnostic process.

        Situation awareness is defined as a person's perception of the elements of the environment within a volume of time and space, the comprehension of their meaning and the projection of their status in the near future. Situation awareness is important in attempting human behavior in operating complex systems such as aircraft, air traffic control, flexible manufacturing systems, nuclear power plants, and tactical and strategic systems. From the literatures this study reviews the relationship between situation awareness and numerous individual and environmental factors, and also reviews the methodologies for the empirical measurement of situation awareness. Attention, working memory, workload, stress, system complexity, and automation are presented as critical factors limiting operator's situation awareness. Mental models and goal-directed are hypothesized as important mechanisms overcoming these limits.

      • 인지과정 시뮬레이터 특성에 관한 연구

        This study investigated the characteristics of cognitive process simulator developed by the previous researchers from literature survey. Twenty six articles issued since mid 1980s were reviewed. The purposes of the cognitive process simulators were classified into 7 categories ⑴ human cognitive reliability, ⑵ mental workload/cognitive requirement measurement, ⑶ design of automated cognitive aid, ⑷ evaluation of cognitive behaviors, ⑸ evaluation of individual differences in cognitive behaviors, ⑹ evaluation of man-machine (computer) interface, and ⑺ cognitive process training. It was concluded that the Model Human Processor(MHP) suggested by Card et al, would be more useful be more useful than any other cognitive process models to build a cognitive simulator for explaining the complex user behavior during human-computer interactions in a simplified manner.

      • 리스크 관리 관련 제품안전 한국산업규격 용어에 대한 연구

        Korean government has developed a lot of product safety regulations in the form of industrial standard since the year 2000 to give some guidelines to small to middle sire corporations preparing for product liability defence and product liability prevention systems. Among those guidelines issued by Korea Standard Association(KSA), there are the 22 draft documents related to product liability risk management system. Some of them have already passed the approval of the standard review committees. The others are waiting the review process. This study surveyed those draft documents to look for drawbacks which can be any obstacles for the drafts to be titled to the Korean Standards. We found out some inconsistency in the definition of terms used in the standards which have already been approved in the review committee. This inconsistency may be the results of the inconsistent review process where the committee members with different discipline background suggested the terms used in their own majors. It was concluded that the standard review committee for the product safety should be organized to review all the standards concerning product safety to obtain the consistency in the terms of this field.

        When we select the Enterprise risk management (ERM) system based on the Commission of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission's (COSO) we need tools to treat 7 moduls of ERM: ERM context setting, risk identification, risk assessment, risk control, risk communication, and ERM monitoring. This paper deals with what to display on the user interface of the ERM modules to conform with the recommendations of COSO ERM framework. Monitoring risk issues in wide range and early warning to CEO or executive board of the corporation Is the key feature of the user interface of COSO ERM framework.

This study suggested the elements of safety design for product. To be a successful product safety management system we need product safety policy, product safety program, product safety design, and product safety design review. It is also desirable to have a continuous check system for data for accident, misuse, or customers' complaints.

        The small size factories producing flexible tubes are concerned about scrap producing processes due to inefficiency and lack of proper technologies. The major scrap producing processes consists of argon welding process, cutting process, and strength testing process. This study analyzed the scrap producing factors of these processes and proposed various alternatives for scrap reduction technologies for flexible tube manufacturing processes.

      • 차세대 원자로 주제어실 설비 배치에 대한 적합성 평가 실험

        Main control Room (MCR) of Korea Next Generation Reactor (KNGR) is provided with various Man Machine Interface (MMI) systems such as information Flat Panel Display (FPD), soft control FPD, Large Display Panel (LDP), trackball, reactor trip/ESF system level switch board and other equipments for the safe and reliable operation of the nuclear power plant. The purpose of top-down suitability verification is to evaluate the task performance using MCR MMI features with respect to functional requirements and evaluation issues compiled from previous studies. This study performed an experiment for the top-down suitability verification for layout of MCR equipments. Twelve experienced operators took part in the experiment and gave opinions for the design problems, Layout of workstations (WS), size and location of trackball, configuration of reactor trip/ESF system level switch board, visual angle for LDP, writing space of deck, and knee space under deck revealed some design deficiencies.
