      • Internship Evaluation to Improve Students’ Employability Skills in Culinary Art Department, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University

Dewi Eka Murniati 한국직업자격학회 2017 한국직업자격학회 학술대회 Vol.2017 No.10

This study aims to analyze the internship implemented in Culinary Art Department, Faculty of Engineering, Yogyakarta State University (PT B Indonesia_Dewi E Murniatioga FT UNY) to improve the students employability skills. Based on preliminary observations of researchers, there are several things that need to be attentive to the implementation of the Internship in PT Boga FT UNY. This study is expected to be one of Internship evaluation in PT Boga FT UNY to improve students’ employability skills as a responsibility of education institutions to students as its main consumer. This type of research was ex post facto with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected by structured interviews will be used to obtain qualitative data. The study population was student supervisors in the Internship location, especially in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas totaling 16 hotels in Yogyakarta, Magelang and Surakarta. The research sample was a number of 6 hotels 4 and 5 in Yogyakarta and Magelang. Data was collected at the time of execution of the internship program in July-September 2016. The method used in the study was an evaluation study using a model approach Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP). The result shows that the internship program in PT Boga FT UNY cannot improve student employability skills yet. This is because there is a gap between the findings of Internship guidance of FT UNY (the standard criteria) with facts on the ground. To overcome these issues, industry provides some considerations which are relevant to: (1) Context, includes the internship debriefing related to: the understanding and agreement on objectives PI, the technical execution as the application petition, and the procedure of resume writing, interviewing, training interpersonal skills, matching the interest and competence of students with industry requirements, (2) input, includes a database system of integrated internship location, and MoU or agreement with industry, (3) Process, including curriculum and mentoring PI, (4) Product, covering students’ assessment and internship reports.

Effect of ethylene inhibitor, type of auxin, and type of sugar on anther culture of local East Java aromatic rice varieties

Dewi Puspa Arisandi,Fragaria Vesca Paradisa,Bambang Sugiharto,Sholeh Avivi,Wahyu Indra Duwi Fanata 한국작물학회 2020 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.23 No.4

Breeding using the double haploid approach has been used in accelerating the rice breeding process. However, the main obstacle in the application of this technique in rice is the low level of callus formation and their regeneration into haploid plants. Based on these issues, this research is aimed at developing the best method for obtaining double haploid plants through anther culture using three kinds of aromatic rice of Indonesian local varieties. Anthers of Pendok, Genjah Arum, and Merah Wangi varieties were cultured in callus induction media which were either supplemented with different types of carbon sources, or auxins and ethylene inhibitors. However, the application of different sugar types did not significantly affect callus formation of Pendok and Genjah Arum. However, auxin treatment showed NAA to be more efficient for the callus induction of Pendok, while 2,4-D had no eff ect on callus induction in all tested varieties. The addition of ethylene inhibitor successfully induced callus formation of Merah Wangi varieties, while the rates of Pendok and Genjah Arum were not signifi cantly aff ected. Callus of three plant lines were then regenerated into plantlet in regeneration media. Of the three callus varieties used, only Pendok could regenerate into plantlets and grow into adult haploid plants.

      • The Typologies of Unit Plans in Indonesian New Town

        Dewi Ratih Megawati(라띠),Sokly Yam(얌속리),Seo Ryeung Ju(주서령) 한국실내디자인학회 2014 한국실내디자인학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2014 No.11

Recently, the cosmopolitan cities of Indonesia have started to attract global interest due to the rapid economic development and urbanization process of the country based on this great potential of the population and natural resources. The development of new towns has emerged as one solution to reduce urbanization problems in Indonesia and the concept of new town planning originated from E. Howard"s Garden City. But new towns in Asian countries constituted unique regional characteristics because they were modified in accordance with their climatic conditions and housing cultures. Kenneth Frampton (1998) and others discussed Asian regionalism and described this phenomenon in terms of "contextual modernization” (Ju et al, 2012). Under the ultimate goal of this study, to identify the uniqueness of Indonesian contemporary houses, this study analyzed the 63 unit plans collected from the representative six new towns supplied by major housing development companies in Jakarta and Surabaya. As a result, this study extracts the representative unit typologies of landed properties and discuss about the regional characteristic of unit designs in Indonesian new towns.

Detection of Enteropathogens in Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Non-Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Infected Children with Acute Diarrhea in an Indonesian Tertiary Hospital Using Multiplex Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction

        Dewi Wulandari,Rivaldi Febrian,Pramita Gayatri Dwipoerwantoro,Nia Kurniati 대한소아소화기영양학회 2024 Pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology & nutrition Vol.27 No.2

Purpose: Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of mortality in children living in developing countries. The etiology of acute diarrhea in each healthcare center varies depending on place, time, and population. This study aimed to identify pathogen patterns in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected and non-HIV children suffering from acute diarrhea, using multiplex real time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), in an Indonesian tertiary hospital. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National Hospital from March 2019 to April 2020. Results: The study showed that multiplex RT-PCR results were positive in 58.9% of the specimens, with more positive results in HIV-infected children than in non-HIV-infected children (70% vs. 54.7%). Altogether 72 enteropathogens were detected from all specimens. Enteropathogens in non-HIV children with acute diarrhea consisted of bacteria (70.6%) and viruses (29.4%) with a predominance of enteroaggregative Escherichia coli (25.4%), followed by Campylobacter spp. (11.8%), enteropathogenic E. coli (9.8%), Norovirus GII (7.8%), and Clostridium difficile (7.8%). Enteropathogens in HIV-infected children consisted of viruses (57.1%), bacteria (28.6%), and parasites (14.3%) comprising Norovirus GII (24%), Cryptosporidium spp. (14.3%), Campylobacter spp. (14.3%), Norovirus GI (14.3%), and Astrovirus (14.3%). Cryptosporidium spp. was the only parasite found in this study and was found only in HIV-infected children. In non-HIV children with acute diarrhea, most pathogens were invasive bacteria, while in HIV-infected children, more viral and parasite infections occurred, primarily caused by opportunistic pathogens. Conclusion: The pattern of enteropathogens can help clinicians determine further examinations and appropriate empirical antimicrobial therapy for the patient.

Joy Harjo’s Perspective on Native Americans Reconciliation for Identity: A Study on Joy Harjo’s In Mad Love and War

Dewi Handayani 건국대학교 아시아·디아스포라 연구소 2019 International Journal of Diaspora&Cultural Critici Vol.9 No.1

This paper ascertains how Joy Harjo illustrates historical events from a Native American perspective by exploring the portrayal of atrocities Native Americans have experienced for centuries. Not only have Native Americans historically been marginalized ethnically by the white society, they have also suffered from traumatic experience resulting from their past history. Joy Harjo in In Mad Love and War induces prose poem with its storytelling ability as a means of empowering Native Americans through language that enables them to speak historically and culturally. In her collection of poems, Joy Harjo proposes reconciliation as the effort for Native Americans to struggle for establishing their identity amidst American society. Since all the data used in this research are written text, library research methodology is applied. This analysis employs Lucien Goldmann’s Genetic Structuralism as Joy Harjo perceives that reconciliation is considered as the attempt to free themselves from the miserable life in which Native Americans are tightly bound and to rebuild Native Americans devastated life into a brighter future. Reconciliation by fostering love and eliminating hatred brings assurance to Native Americans for hope in the future. Joy Harjo redefines American literature by calling attention to one of the marginal voices that are rapidly becoming the centre in the United States.
