This study aims to compare and analyze the trends of research on mobile learning conducted in Korea and China to suggest future directions and multifaceted subject areas in its study field. To achieve this purpose, 620 Chinese papers from CNKI (CSSCI and CSCD) database and 205 Korean papers from RISS database (KCI and KCI candidate) published between 2009 and 2018 were selected to be analyzed through applying the frequency analysis and visualized semantic network analysis. The criteria for analysis used in this study are four types: publication years, research subjects, research methods, and keywords. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, in relation to the year of publication, Korea entered the peak of mobile learning research in 2016 (33 papers), and China reached high publications (94 papers) in 2017. Secondly, with regard to the research subjects, the most frequently studied subjects in Korea and China were targeted to college students, followed by general adult groups. Thirdly, in terms of research methods, quantitative research accounted for a high proportion in Korea, but in China, documentary research showed a high frequency. Fourthly, the high frequency keywords appearing in mobile learning research in the two countries were mainly reflected in language learning. Based on the findings, several directions of future research for both countries were suggested.
Family vs. Non-family Firm Behavior and Performance: A Study of Korean High-Technology Industries

Family businesses (FBs) are said to treat their employees with unusual consideration to form a cohesive internal “community”. They are also said to form more extensive “connections” or relationships with outside stakeholders. Both behaviors may increase the viability of a business intended to support an owning family and its later generations, and relate to the age-old notion of gemeinschaft. This study of Korean high technology businesses suggests that: 1) relationships of community and connection will be more common in FBs than in non-FBs, 2) these relationships will enhance performance, and 3) the performance of FBs will benefit more from these relationships than the performance of non-FBs.

Background/Aims: Screening for hepatitis B virus (HBV) is recommended in populations with anticipated prevalence ≥2%. This study surveyed HBV screening and vaccination practices of Asian American primary care providers (PCPs). Methods: Approximately 15,000 PCPs with Asian surnames in the New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, and Chicago areas were invited to participate in a web-based survey. Asian American PCPs with ≥25% Asian patients in their practice were eligible. Results: Of 430 (2.9%) survey respondents, 217 completed the survey. Greater than 50% followed ≥200 Asian patients. Although 95% of PCPs claimed to have screened patients for HBV, 41% estimated that ≤25% of their adult Asian patients had ever been screened, and 50% did not routinely screen all Asian patients. In a multivariable analysis, the proportion of Asian patients in the practice, provider geographic origin and the number of liver cancers diagnosed in the preceding 12 months were significantly associated with a higher likelihood of screening for HBV. Over 80% of respondents reported that ≤50% of their adult Asian patients had received the HBV vaccine. Conclusions: Screening and vaccination for HBV in Asian American patients is inadequate. Measures to improve HBV knowledge and care by primary-care physicians are critically needed. (Gut Liver 2013; 7:450-457)

Here, we report a large, overhanging cystic bleb that compromised vision and induced a foreign body sensation in a patient who underwent a trabeculectomy surgery with anti-metabolite therapy 4 years prior. Ultrasound biomicroscopy revealed multiple loculations with thin septa inside the bleb and a high risk of damage to the bleb was anticipated with a straight forward surgical excision. We injected autologous blood and placed a compression suture 6 weeks prior to surgical excision of the overhanging portion of the bleb. The operation was successful in preserving excellent bleb function, restoring visual acuity, and alleviating symptoms in our patient with up to 9 months of follow-up.

Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) — a combination of a P2Y12 receptor inhibitor and aspirin — has revolutionized antithrombotic treatment. Potent P2Y12 inhibitors such as prasugrel and ticagrelor exhibit a strong and more consistent platelet inhibition when compared to clopidogrel. Therefore, ticagrelor and prasugrel significantly reduce ischemic events, but at an expense of an increased bleeding risk in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). These observations have engaged intensive clinical research in alternative DAPT regimens to achieve sufficient platelet inhibition with an acceptable bleeding risk. Our review focusses on P2Y12 receptor therapy de-escalation defined as a switch from a potent antiplatelet agent (ticagrelor or prasugrel) to clopidogrel. Recently, both unguided (platelet function testing independent) and guided (platelet function testing dependent) DAPT de-escalation strategies have been investigated in different clinical studies and both switching strategies could be possible options to prevent bleeding complications without increasing ischemic risk. In light of the still limited data currently available, future large-scale trials should accumulate more data on various DAPT de-escalation regimens with both ticagrelor and prasugrel in unguided and guided de-escalation approaches. In the current review we aim at summarizing and discussing the current evidence on this still emerging topic in the field of antiplatelet treatment.
