A heavy rainfall in July 2018 caused sediment disasters in West Japan. In this disaster, some debris flow were occured on slopes that were not recognized the potential of the occurence of sediment disasters. In this report, based on the results of the sediment disaster emergency survey conducted in several cities in West Japan, we will report the distribution and examples of slopes where these disasters occurred. In addition, regarding the occurrence of debris flow, the features related to topography and weather were examined. In Japan, the hazards of sediment disasters are recognized based on whether the topography of the slope has the same conditions as the topography of sediment disasters that occurred in the past. In this report, we focused on the debris flow occured on the slope that was not recognized as a valley where the debris flow occurs(the valley depth is wider than the valley width). As a result of this survey, we were able to understand the characteristics of the debris flow that occurred at a slope that was not recognized dangerous of sediment disaster. We believe that this report will help improve the warning and evacuation system for future sediment disasters in Japan.

Cleft lip is a birth defect that occurs when the lips are not completely formed during healing of the face of the fetus. In Japan, it occurs in about 1 in 500 people. Although treatment is performed to form a symmetrical outer nose, it is necessary to evaluate the degree of symmetry of the surgical site quantitatively because it is based on the judgment criteria that depend on the doctor"s subjectivity. In this paper, we propose a method to detect the plane which is the symmetry basis of the face to analyze the symmetry of the operation site. In the proposed method, the face organ is detected as points from 3D point cloud of the face. Then, the mirror image inversion excluding the area affected by shape change due to cleft lip is aligned with the original point cloud. Next, a symmetric plane is set by finding a plane that bisects vertically between one point in the original point cloud and the corresponding point in the mirror image. As a result of applying the proposed method to real 3D point cloud, we could detect the symmetric plane with good accuracy.

Magnetization and electrical resistivity measurements were carried out for polycrystallineMn2Sb1−xGex (0.05 ≤ x ≤ 0.2) in magnetic fields up to 16 T in the 4.2 - 600 K temperaturerange in order to investigate the magnetic and the electrical properties under high magnetic fields. Mn2Sb0.92Ge0.08 showed a Curie temperature, TC, of 532 K and a first order magnetic transitionfrom a ferrimagnetic (FRI) to an antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase at Tt = 230 K with decreasingtemperature in a zero magnetic field. With increasing x, TC decreased and Tt increased. ForMn2Sb0.92Ge0.08, a matamagnetic transition from an AFM to a FRI phase was observed at 215 K. The magnetic phase diagram of Mn2Sb1−xGex is presented.
Enhanced Heuristic Algorithms K-LAG-V and K-LAG-S for the Constrained Via Minimization Problem
Daisuke Takafuji,Toshimasa Watanabe,Yuji Suga 대한전자공학회 2008 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2008 No.7
CVM requires finding any layer assignment of wire-segments, whose topology has already been given, so that the total number of vias may be minimized. A given topology of wire-segments is called an initial wiring layout. Let kCVM denote CVM in which k layers are available for routing. In this paper, only rectilinear routing is considered. The subject of the paper is to propose heuristic algorithms K-LAG-V and K-LAG-S that are enhanced versions of K-LAG. Based on experimental results, it is shown that they are promising ones for solving kCVM with k ∈ {4, 12}.

Objective: Concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) is the primary treatment for locally advanced cervical cancer. We studied prognostic factors for patients treated with CCRT. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed records of 85 consecutive patients with cervical cancer who were treated with CCRT between 2002 and 2011, with external beam radiation therapy, intracavitary brachytherapy, and platinum-based chemotherapy. Survival data were analyzed with Kaplan-Meier methods and Cox proportional hazard models. Results: Of the 85 patients, 69 patients (81%) had International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage III/IV disease; 25 patients (29%) had pelvic lymph node enlargement (based on magnetic resonance imaging), and 64 patients (75%) achieved clinical remission following treatment. Median maximum tumor diameter was 5.5 cm. The 3- and 5-year overall survival rates were 60.3% and 55.5%, respectively. Cox regression analysis showed tumor diameter >6 cm (hazard ratio [HR], 2.3; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.2 to 4.6), pelvic lymph node enlargement (HR, 2.2; 95% CI, 1.1 to 4.5), and distant metastasis (HR, 10.0; 95% CI, 3.7 to 27.0) were significantly and independently related to poor outcomes. Conclusion: New treatment strategies should be considered for locally advanced cervical cancers with tumors >6 cm and radiologically enlarged pelvic lymph nodes.
Analysis of Y-Shaped Self-Balancing Line with Walk-Back and Travel Time
Daisuke Hirotani,Katsumi Morikawa,Katsuhiko Takahashi,Keisuke Nagasawa 대한산업공학회 2018 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.17 No.2
In traditional assembly lines, each worker is usually assigned a fixed work station. However, when an imbalance be-tween workers’ speeds exists, the production rate of the line decreases. To avoid this problem, the “self-balancing line” was introduced. Although typically assumed to be serial, recent studies have assumed a Y-shaped type line (with two sub-lines that then combine). However, as the workers take more time to travel in this arrangement, walk-back and travel time must be considered. Furthermore, when considering more than two workers, the condition that balanc-es the line changes according to the length of the sub-lines. In this paper, the authors first derive the condition that balances the line for three workers, and then analyze the characteristics of this type of line. Finally, the authors find the condition that balances the line for n workers

Purpose: Alpha1-adrenoceptors participate in improving storage symptoms of male lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). However, the mechanism of action of these compounds remains unclear. To clarify the mechanism of the α1-adrenoceptor antagonists, the amplitude of miniature excitatory postsynaptic currents (mEPSCs) was analyzed in the lumbosacral spinal cord in rats. Methods: Male adult Sprague-Dawley rats were used. Blind whole-cell patch-clamp recordings were performed on substantia gelatinosa (SG) neurons in spinal cord slice preparations. The amplitude of mEPSCs was recorded in individual SG neurons to which α1-adrenoceptors (100μM naftopidil, 100μM tamsulosin, and 30μM silodosin) were applied sequentially with intervening washout periods. Individual amplitudes were analyzed. Results: Pearson correlation coefficients (r) for the amplitudes of mEPSCs between the baseline and postadministration of α1- adrenoceptor antagonists indicated changes of the amplitude ranked in the order of naftopidil (r =0.393), tamsulosin (r=0.738), and silodosin (r=0.944). Together, the α1-adrenoceptor antagonists yielded significant increases in the amplitude of mEPSCs in SG neurons (n=108, P=0.012). However, the effects of each α1-adrenoceptor antagonist on the amplitude were as follows (relative to the baseline; n=36 each): naftopidil, P=0.129; tamsulosin, P=0.201; and silodosin, P=0.005. The rate of response to naftopidil for the outward current was relatively high among the α1-adrenoceptor blockers. An inward current was observed only with the naftopidil application. Conclusions: Alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonists changed the amplitudes of mEPSCs in a subset of SG neurons in slices prepared from the L6–S1 levels of rat spine. Although the α1-adrenoceptor antagonists generated inward or outward currents in the SG neurons, different rates of response were observed with each antagonist. These results are important for understanding the mechanisms of action (at the spinal level) of α1-adrenoceptor antagonists for the storage symptoms of male LUTS.

Daisuke Ogawa,Kunihiro Koike,Hiroaki Kato,Shigemi Mizukami,Takamichi Miyazaki,Mikihiko Oogane,Yasuo Ando 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.3
We fabricated α-Fe(100)/Nd2Fe14B(001) bilayer films with different thicknesses values of the-Fe layer on MgO(100) substrates by using an ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) magnetron sputteringsystem. The exchange coupling constant at the heterointerfaces of α-Fe(100)/Nd2Fe14B(001) wasevaluated by analyzing the magnetization curves and the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) spectra. We observed a significant lower shift of the α-Fe resonance field compared to that of the α-Fe singlelayer irrespective of the Fe-layer thickness, which suggests the existence of an internal field owingto a positive exchange coupling between the -Fe(100) and the Nd2Fe14B(001) layers.
