        1. This study aimed to explore the effect of recorded auditory prompts on helping an adult with profound mental retardation to take bath independently. 「A-B-C-A-C」design, a kind of single-subject experiment was adopted. Three phases, baseline phase, intervention phase(B): auditory prompt, and intervention phase(C): recorded auditory prompt were included. A female with profound mental retardation participated in the experiment. It took over seven months to finishing the intervention. The results of the experiment indicated that auditory prompts, whether human auditory prompt or recorded prompt, could help the client to take bath more independently. The families of the client also regarded recorded auditory prompt was a feasible solution. Based on the result, there were some suggestions for the further research. 본 연구의 목적은 녹음 구어 제시를 이용해서 극 중도 지능장애 성인 여성 스스로 목욕 동작을 완성 할 수 있도록 도와주는 효과에 대한 연구입니다. 본 연구에 사용하는 연구법은 ⌜A-B-A-C-A-C⌟역 설계이다. 기선기의(A)개입一(B)인공구어제시 개입二(C)녹음 구어 제시로 나누어졌다. 실험기간은 모두 7개월 반이었다. 연구결과는 피 실험자가 스스로 목욕할 때와 비교했을 때 인공구어 제시와 녹음구어 제시는 모두 피 실험자가 목욕 동작을 완성 하는 데에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 외에도 녹음 구어 제시는 피 실험자 가족들도 받아들일 수 있다. 본 연구 결과에 근거해서 연구자들은 미래 응용과 연구에 대한 건의도 제출하였다.

        A highly efficient catalyst for direct synthesis of methyl acrylate via methoxycarbonylation of acetylene

        A non-petroleum approach for the catalytic synthesis of methyl acrylate via methoxycarbonylation of acetylene with carbon monoxide and methanol as nucleophilic reagent has been studied under various conditions. Pd(OAc)2/2-PyPPh2/p-tsa was found to be a highly efficient catalytic system. The types of phosphorus ligands and their concentration was a determinative factor for catalytic activity. Mono-dentate phosphorus ligand such as triphenylphosphine has no activity while 2-(diphenylphosphino)pyridine with a mixed N-P bidentate structure has an excellent activity. Catalytic performance of acids depends on their acidic strength and coordinative property. Among all acidic promoters, p-toluenesulfonic acid displayed an excellent performance. Other parameters such as solvent polarity and initial pressure of carbon monoxide have also important influences on the hydroesterification of acetylene. It is beneficial for the reaction that the solvents have a high polarity. At low pressure of carbon monoxide, to high active palladium catalyst, the reaction easily proceeded. However, at high pressure of carbon monoxide, acetylene will transfer from solution to gas phase,resulting in lower conversion of acetylene. In addition, due to steric hindrance of alcohols, methanol has a highest activity in hydroesterification of acetylene in low carbon alcohols. Under the optimal reaction conditions, 99.5% of acetylene conversion and 99.7% of selectivity toward methyl acrylate as well as 2,502 h−1 TOF were achieved.

        Separative capability of γ-Al2O3 porous ceramic membrane modified by ZIF-8

        Several precursors such as zinc nitrite, zinc chloride, zinc acetate and zinc sulfate were used to synthesize ZIF-8. These zeolitic imidazolate frameworks synthesized from different zinc precursors under different reaction conditions were characterized by XRD, SEM and FTIR. The synthesis of ZIF-8 was not sensitive to zinc precursor and reaction parameter. Subsequently, we used ZIF-8 to modify the γ-Al2O3 porous ceramic membrane, expecting improvement of separation performance in the γ-Al2O3 porous ceramic membrane. The experimental results indicated that the permselectivity of hydrogen/nitrogen was enhanced in the γ-Al2O3 porous ceramic membrane modified with ZIF-8,although the gas permeance through the modified membrane slightly decreased. In addition, the modified γ-Al2O3 porous ceramic membrane was used to separate the binary systems containing ethanol-water and acrylic acid-water. The separation factor of ethanol to water is 3.1, while it is 2.6 as for acrylic acid-water. Furthermore, the permeance in the former is about five times than that of the latter.

        Sustainable production of acetaldehyde from lactic acid over the carbon catalysts

        The synthesis of acetaldehyde from lactic acid over the carbon material catalysts was investigated. The carbon materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy for morphologic features, by X-ray diffraction for crystal phases, by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy for functional group structures, by N2 sorption for specific surface area and by ammonia temperature-programed desorption for acidity, respectively. Among the tested carbon catalysts, mesoporous carbon displayed the most excellent catalytic performance. By acidity analysis, the medium acidity is a crucial factor for catalytic performance: more medium acidity favored the formation of acetaldehyde from lactic acid. To verify, we compared the catalytic performance of fresh activated carbon with that of the activated carbon treated by nitric acid. Similarly, the modified activated carbon also displayed better activity due to a drastic increase of medium acidity amount. However, in contrast to fresh carbon nanotube, the treated sample displayed worse activity due to decrease of medium acidity amount. The effect of reaction temperature and time on stream on the catalytic performance was also investigated. Under the optimal reaction conditions, 100% lactic acid conversion and 91.6% acetaldehyde selectivity were achieved over the mesoporous carbon catalyst.

        Evaluation of Galactomannan Enzyme Immunoassay and Quantitative Real-Time PCR for the Diagnosis of Invasive Pulmonary Aspergillosis in a Rat Model

        Since there is no consensus about the most reliable assays to detect invasive aspergillosis from samples obtained by minimally invasive or noninvasive methods, we compared the efficacy of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for galactomannan (GM) detection and quantitative real-time PCR assay (qRT-PCR) for the diagnosis of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis. Neutropenic, male Sprague-Dawley rats (specific pathogen free; 8 weeks old; weight, 200 ± 20 g) were immunosuppressed with cyclophosphamide and infected with Aspergillus fumigatus intratracheally. Tissue and whole blood samples were harvested on days 1, 3, 5, and 7 post-infection and examined with GM ELISA and qRT-PCR. The A. fumigatus DNA detection sequence was detected in the following number of samples from 12 immunosuppressed, infected rats examined on the scheduled days: day 1 (0/12), day 3 (0/12), day 5 (6/12), and day 7 (8/12) post-infection. The sensitivity and specificity of the qRT-PCR assay was 29.2% and 100%, respectively. Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis indicated a Ct (cycle threshold) cut-off value of 15.35, and the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.627. The GM assay detected antigen in sera obtained on day 1 (5/12), day 3 (9/12), day 5 (12/12), and day 7 (12/12) post-infection, and thus had a sensitivity of 79.2% and a specificity of 100%. The ROC of the GM assay indicated that the optimal Ct cut-off value was 1.40 (AUC, 0.919). The GM assay was more sensitive than the qRT-PCR assay in diagnosing invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in rats.

        Research on Crossing Tunnels' Seismic Response Characteristics

        A large-scale shaking table test system and corresponding numerical model are designed to study the seismic characteristics of crossing tunnels. The calculated results are in good agreement with experimental data, both the results suggest that: Loading the El-Centro seismic wave, the maximum acceleration in upper tunnel’s crossing center section is located in the crown, the maximum strain is located in the haunch; meanwhile, the maximum acceleration and strain in underpass tunnel’s cross center section are both located in the crown. Affected by the underpass tunnel, at the side wall bottom of the upper tunnel, tests data reveal that the crossing center’s maximum acceleration is reduced for 30.9% and the strain was enlarged 170% than the normal section. Affected by the upper tunnel, at the haunch of the underpass tunnel, tests data reveal the crossing center’s maximum acceleration is enlarged by 10.0% and the strain is 27.2% reduced than the normal section.

      • Disruption of endothelial barrier function is linked with hyposecretion and lymphocytic infiltration in salivary glands of Sjögren's syndrome

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Sjögren's syndrome (SS) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease that causes hyposecretion in salivary glands. Endothelial tight junctions (TJs) play crucial roles in salivation and barrier function of blood vessels. However, whether the alteration of endothelial TJs were involved in pathogenesis of SS was still unknown. Here, the ultrastructure and function of endothelial TJs in submandibular glands (SMGs) were detected by transmission electron microscopy and in vivo paracellular permeability assay in different aged NOD mouse model for SS. CFSE-labeled lymphocytes were injected into tail vein to trace the infiltration, while claudin-5 expression and distribution were detected by immunofluorescence, qRT-PCR, and western blot. Results showed that the stimulated salivary flow rate was gradually decreased and lymphocytic infiltration was found as age increased in 12- and 21-week-old NOD mice, but not 7-week-old NOD mice. Blood vessels were dilated, while endothelial TJ width and paracellular tracer transport were increased in 12-week-old NOD mice. Moreover, the injected CFSE-labeled lymphocytes were observed in SMGs of 12-week-old NOD mice. Claudin-5 level was increased and relocalized from the apical portion of neighboring endothelial cells to lateral membranes and cytoplasm in 12-week-old NOD mice. Additionally, the alteration of claudin-5 expression and distribution was further confirmed in labial salivary glands and bilateral parotid glands from SS patients. In cultured human microvessel endothelial cell line (HMEC-1), IFN-γ stimulation significantly increased claudin-5 expression.         An Efficient Model Predictive Control for Trajectory Tracking of Wheeled Inverted Pendulum Vehicles with Various Physical Constraints

        This study presents a robust model predictive control (MPC) strategy to handle the trajectory tracking problem for a underactuated two-wheeled inverted pendulum (WIP) vehicle, in addition to taking various physical constraints into account. To begin with, a saturated trajectory generator is proposed to produce the desired velocities by which all posture tracking errors converge to the compact sets as well as the saturation of velocities being guaranteed. In addition, a MPC approach is put up forward after the approximate feedback linearization is performed to decrease the burden of computation and increase the realtime performance of the control system. Particularly, various physical constraints can be readily assured by the presented MPC method although the equilibrium of WIP vehicle is unstable. Meanwhile, to validate the robustness and availability of the proposed approach, initial errors, pulse disturbance and random noise are introduced to test the control performance of the closed-loop system in the simulation environment. The results from both theoretical analysis and simulation show that the proposed control strategy are effective and feasible for practical implementation.

        Inhibition of Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1-Induced Sebum Production by Bilobetin in Cultured Human Sebocytes

        Background: Sebocytes are the major cells of sebaceous gland. The essential role of sebocytes is the production of sebum, a specific lipid mixture, that covers the body surface and provides the barrier function. At puberty, sebum production increases under the effects of various stimuli including androgens and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). Excessive sebum production changes the microenvironment surrounding hair follicle, often leading to the onset of acne. Objective: We previously performed screening test using cultured human sebocytes, and found that bilobetin had a potential for inhibiting lipid production. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the effects of bilobetin on IGF-1-induced lipogenesis in sebocytes. Methods: We pretreated simian virus 40 T (SV40T)-transformed sebocytes with bilobetin then stimulated with IGF-1. Effects of bilobetin on lipogenesis of sebocytes were examined by thin layer chromatography and Western blot. Results: Bilobetin markedly inhibited IGF-1- induced lipid production in sebocytes, especially in terms of production of squalene and wax ester. Supporting these results, bilobetin showed significant inhibitory effect on squalene synthase promoter activity. In addition, bilobetin significantly down-regulated lipogenic transcription factors such as sterol response element binding protein (SREBP)-1 and SREBP-2. To delineate the possible action mechanism, we investigated the effect of bilobetin on intracellular signaling. As a result, bilobetin inhibited IGF-1-induced phosphorylation of AKT. Conclusion: Together, these results suggest that bilobetin has an inhibitory potential on sebum production in sebocytes, being applicable for acne treatment. (Ann Dermatol 31(3) 294∼299, 2019)

      • Recursive Chaotic Desynchronized Fingerprint for Large Scale Distribution Using Social Network Analysis

        Average collusion attack is a very effective attack for digital fingerprinting system. Moreover, the commercial value of the colluded content is often time-sensitive. The more profit the colluder will make from it when the colluded copy is distributed earlier. This paper presents a new collusion-resilience approach with recursive chaotic desynchronization and social network. It has processed chaotic transformations due to random image grid based on chaos. The experimental results show that collusion even with only two copies results in degradation of the image metric, even if those traitors try to resynchronization using image registration technology. However, it will take expensive computational cost to do that, and the visual quality is degraded expensively with the increase of the number of fingerprinted copies.
