miR-124 Inhibits Growth and Invasion of Gastric Cancer by Targeting ROCK1

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) act as critical regulators of genes involved in many biological processes. Aberrant alteration of miRNAs have been found in many cancers, including gastric cancer (GC), but the molecular mechanisms are not well understood. Herein, we investigated the role of miR-124 in GC. We found that its expression was significantly reduced in both GC tissue samples and cell lines. Forced expression of miR-124 suppressed GC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Furthermore, the Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK1) was identified as a direct target of miR-124 in GC cells. Finally, silencing of ROCK1 showed similar effects as miR-124 overexpression, while supplementation of ROCK1 remarkably restored the cell growth and invasion inhibited by miR-124. Together, our data demonstrate that miR-124 acts as a tumor suppressor by targeting ROCK1, and posit miR-124 as a novel strategy for GC treatment.
Experimental Feasibility Research on a High-efficiency Cement-based Clay Stabilizer

In many civil engineering constructions, soft clayey soils are often stabilized with Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) whose production process is energy intensive and emits a large quantity of CO2. In this paper, an OPC-based clay stabilizer (CSCN) which contains some eco-friendly materials is studied to compare with OPC by investigating the mechanical properties of the stabilized clays. Microstructural and mineralogical studies using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) are performed to reveal the mechanisms controlling the development of the strength and modulus. The test results indicate that the compressive strength and secant modulus increase with increasing the content of CSCN and curing age. To achieve the equivalent improvement of the strength and modulus, much less CSCN is needed relative to OPC, which illustrates that CSCN can be a more effective and relatively eco-friendly clay stabilizer. The analysis on pH values and moisture consumption indicates that the hydration and pozzolanic reactions in CSCN-stabilized clays may be quicker than those in OPC-stabilized clays. The microstructural analyses confirm the formation of C-S-H gels in stabilized clays and the types of C-S-H gels are dependent upon the Ca/Si molar ratio according to EDX results. The types and amounts of new minerals in stabilized clays are the possible mechanisms controlling the enhancement of mechanical properties.
SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL ALUMINUM NITRIDE NANOSTRUCTURES

This article presents a brief review of the recent research progresses achieved in the field of one-dimensional (1D) aluminum nitride (AlN) nanostructures. It mainly covers three aspects: The first one is to introduce the synthetic strategies for several classic 1D AlN nanostructures (such as nanofibers, nanobelts, nanorods, nanowires, nanotips, etc.) including template-confined reaction, arc discharge, catalyst-assisted growth, and vapor transport and related growth methods. The second is to elaborate some special physical properties, such as field emission and photoluminescence, which associate with the uniqueness of 1D AlN nanostructures. It is revealed that aligned AlN 1D nanostructures have low turn-on and threshold voltages, high emission current and small current fluctuation, and that the photoluminescence of AlN nanobelts are different from those of conventional AlN material. The third is to briefly illustrate the potential application of these 1D AlN nanostructures in composite materials. It is found that AlN nanowire is a good reinforcement for improving the mechanical and thermal properties of metal matrix composites, which can be expected to be utilized as packaging material with high strength and low thermal expansion. Finally, we summarize the major challenges in this field. Among them, a thorough understanding of the growth mechanism of 1D AlN nanostructures is the most important issue, and more precisely controlled growth is required to obtain tailored AlN nanostructures according to device applications.
Research status and development trend of three-dimensional colloidal crystals

The three-dimensional colloidal crystal materials have unique optical properties and spatial structuredue to their ordered arrangement and have great potential to prepare three-dimensionally orderedmicroporous (3DOM) materials. This review outlines various methods for preparing three-dimensionalcolloidal crystals (3DCCs). The preparation methods of commonly used colloidal particles are introducedin detail, and the effects of different parameters on the assembly of 3DCCs are discussed. On this basis,using the colloidal crystal template (CCT) method to prepare 3DOM materials. After that, the commonstacking methods and defects of 3DCCs were analyzed. The latter part of this review discusses the mainapplications of 3DCCs, namely optical materials, adsorption materials, sensors, porous electrodematerials, inverse colloidal crystal (ICC) scaffolds, and other popular applications in recent years.

Purpose: Five members of the zinc finger of the cerebellum (ZIC) family—ZIC1, ZIC2, ZIC3, ZIC4, and ZIC5—have been shown to be involved in various carcinomas. Here, we aimed to explore the clinicopathologic and prognostic roles of ZIC family members in invasive breast cancer patients using immunohistochemical analysis, western blotting analysis, and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Methods: A total of 241 female invasive breast cancer patients who underwent radical mastectomy between 2009 and 2011 were enrolled. ZIC proteins in 241 pairs of breast tumors and corresponding normal tissues were investigated using immunohistochemistry and the clinicopathologic roles of proteins were analyzed using Pearson’s chi-square test. Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox regression analysis were also used to analyze the prognostic value of the ZIC proteins. In addition, 12 pairs of fresh-frozen breast tumors and matched normal tissues were used in the western blotting analysis and RT-qPCR. Results: Only ZIC1 expression in normal tissues was obviously higher than that in tumors (p<0.001). On multivariate analysis, ZIC1 expression (in overall survival analysis: hazard ratio [HR], 0.405, 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.233–0.702, p=0.001; in disease-free survival analysis: HR, 0.395, 95% CI, 0.234–0.669, p=0.001) was identified as a prognostic indicator of invasive breast cancer. Conclusion: ZIC1, but not the other proteins, was obviously decreased in breast tumors and associated with clinicopathologic factors. Thus, ZIC1 might be a novel indicator to predict the overall and disease-free survival of invasive breast cancer patients.
刍论民事执行监督程序之立法修正 - 以法院自我监督模式为研究视角

With the implementation of civil enforcement supervision procedures, laws and regulations have been introduced, the legislative amendments of the civil enforcement supervision procedures have gradually been concerned by the jurists and scholars. Provisions on civil enforcement supervision procedures have been optimized, but for the people s court at the same level of self-supervision procedures still have some problems in the relevant provisions and the application of justice in the practice is also very different in China. In order to enable the people s court to supervise itself under the sun , the relevant legislation should be improved, at the same time, we also need to consider the drawbacks of my supervision made from the court, we should focus on solving the following two issues: firstly, after the Executive Board achieves walking on two legs , how to curb the breeding of corruption. Secondly, the question of the insufficient number of judges in the implementation of the staffing system. The introduction of the escort supervisor system will be a new initiative to solve the above two problems. 随着有关民事执行监督程序的法律、法规的相继出台, 民事执行监督程序之立法修正也逐渐进入法学家及学者们的视野, 并受到了各界的广泛关注。就目前的立法现状来看, 我国已对民事执行监督程序作出了较为详细的规定, 但对于本级人民法院自我监督程序的相关规定尚存在漏洞, 各地在司法实践中的适用也大相径庭。为了使人民法院自身监督程序能够在“阳光”下运行, 在完善相关立法的同时, 还需考虑法院自我监督模式存在的弊端, 应当着重解决以下两个问题:第一, 执行局实现“两条腿走路”后, 应如何抑制腐败滋生的问题。第二, 员额制执行法官人数不足的问题。引入“陪执监督”制度将成为解决以上两个问题的新举措。
