This study calculated the optimal sampling interval of suspended sediment on storm in terms of Kalman filter method after collected data the discharge and suspended sediment of Museong place, the downstream of the Wi stream basin that is one of the IHP representative basin the Nakdong river water systems. We'll have to study more specifically about the various elements closely related to the discharge with the reasonable and correct standard of the error variance in the future and we finds out the suspended sediment optimal sampling intervals in other basins it will be applied by the characteristic of them.

In this paper we compared and analyzed the Korean and German mathematics textbooks for the middle school students. For the research we investigated only the area of algebra, which is consisted of the three sections-section of numbers and arithmetic operations, section of letters and expressions, and section of rules and functions. We expect that this paper would contribute on the development of the whole area in our nation's mathematical educations, including the organization and exploitation of the curriculums for the middle school students.

Background/Aims To determine the value of salivary pepsin in discriminating sub-types of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and GERD-related disorders. Methods Overall, 322 patients with different sub-types of GERD and 45 healthy controls (HC) were studied. All patients took Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease Questionnaire (GerdQ) and underwent endoscopy and 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring and manometry. Salivary pepsin concentration (SPC) was detected by using colloidal gold double-antibody immunological sandwich assay. Oral esomeprazole treatment was administrated in the patients with non-erosive reflux disease (NERD) and extra-esophageal symptoms (EES). Results Compared to HC, patients with erosive esophagitis, NERD, EES, EES plus typical GERD symptoms, or Barrett’s esophagus had a higher prevalence of saliva and SPC (all P < 0.001). There was no significant difference in the positive rate for pepsin in patients with functional heartburn or GERD with anxiety and depression, compared to HC. After esomeprazole treatment, the positive rate and SPC were significantly reduced in NERD (both P < 0.001) and in EES (P = 0.001 and P = 0.002, respectively). Of the 64 NERD patients, 71.9% (n = 46) were positive for salivary pepsin, which was significantly higher than the rate (43.8%, n = 28) of pathological acid reflux as detected by 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring (P = 0.002). Conclusions Salivary pepsin has an important significance for the diagnosis of GERD and GERD-related disorders. Salivary pepsin and 24-hour esophageal pH monitoring may complement with each other to improve the diagnostic efficiency.

An event-triggered adaptive tracking control problem is investigated for a class of switched nonstrictfeedback nonlinear systems with unknown control directions and switching signals. With a linear observer, the output feedback stabilization is achieved under arbitrary switching. The key advantages of the proposed control strategy are that the tracking prescribed performance is ensured regardless of the unknown control directions. Only one tuning parameter needs to be estimated during the recursive process. Moreover, with a varying threshold, a common event-triggered mechanism is developed. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and the dynamic surface backstepping technique, the developed control method theoretically proves that under arbitrary switching, all signals of the resulting closed-loop switched system are bounded and the tracking error can converge to a small neighborhood of the origin within the prescribed bounds. The Zeno behavior is also avoided. The effectiveness and feasibility are demonstrated by two examples.

This paper focuses on the output tracking problem for a class of uncertain switched nonlinear systems with arbitrary switching signal and unavailable states. By designing a proper reduced-order observer and introducing fuzzy approximation, a systematic adaptive domination recursive method is presented to explicitly construct a common smooth dynamic output feedback controller, such that under arbitrary switching, all error variables of the corresponding closed-loop switched systems are semi-globally, uniformly, and ultimately bounded (SGUUB), as well as the tracking error may be adjusted to a small neighborhood of the origin. Compared with the existing results, the proposed control scheme overcomes the restrictions on nonlinear functions of systems only relating to the output variable and switching signal subjecting to certain dwell time. Its effectiveness and feasibility are demonstrated by both a numerical example and a chemical system.

본 논문은 선충 포식성 곰팡이에 대한 선충의 영향을 조사한 연구로, 소나무 기생곰팡이인 E. vermicola에 미치는 소나무 선충의 영향을 체계적으로 분석하였다. 선충 대사물과 선충 균질액 모두 E. vermicola의 성장을 빠르게 촉진하였으나, 선충 대사물이 선충 균질액보다 약간 높은 효과를 보였다. 또한 소나무 선충이 생성하는 휘발성 물질이 E. vermicola 성장에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 새로운 실험방법을 개발하였다. 본 연구결과에 따르면, 선충의 휘발성 물질은 E. vermicola에 아무런 영향을 끼치지 않는다는 재현성 있는 결과를 도출하였다. 본 연구는 소나무 선충의 생물학적인 조절인자로서 E. vermicola을 적용할 수 있는 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것이다. The influence of nematodes on nematophagous fungi has seldom been investigated. In the present study, the influence of pinewood nematode on its endoparasitic fungus, Esteya vermicola, was investigated systemically. Although both nematodal metabolite and nematodal homogenate could stimulate and speed up the growth of E. vermicola, the impact of nematodal metabolite was slightly higher than that of nematodal homogenate. In addition, a method was developed to investigate the influence of volatiles, discharged by pinewood nematodes in their metabolic process, on the growth of E. vermicola. Reproductive results were given and confirmed that nematodal volatiles have no influence on the cell growth of E. vermicola. This study may provide information for the application of E. vermicola as biological control agent of pinewood nematode.

<P>It has been reported that young animals are less vulnerable to brain ischemia. In the present study, we compared gliosis in the hippocampal CA1 region of the young gerbil with those in the adult gerbil induced by 5 min of transient cerebral ischemia by immunohistochemistry and western blot for glial cells. We used male gerbils of postnatal month 1 (PM 1) as the young and PM 6 as the adult. Neuronal death in CA1 pyramidal neurons in the adult gerbil occurred at 4 days post-ischemia; the neuronal death in the young gerbil occurred at 7 days post-ischemia. The findings of glial changes in the young gerbil after ischemic damage were distinctively different from those in the adult gerbil. Glial fibrillary acidic protein-immunoreactive astrocytes, ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule (Iba-1), and isolectin B4-immunoreactive microglia in the ischemic CA1 region were activated much later in the young gerbil than in the adult gerbil. In brief, very less gliosis occurred in the hippocampal CA1 region of the young gerbil than in the adult gerbil after transient cerebral ischemia.</P>

<P>Earthworm extract has shown anticancer characteristics. In the present study, we examined the effect of chronic treatment with a high dose of earthworm (Eisenia andrei) extract (EE) on cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation in the hippocampal dentate gyrus (DG) of 3-week-old mice using 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) and Ki-67 immunohistochemistry for cell proliferation and doublecortin (DCX) immunohistochemistry for neuroblast differentiation, respectively. BrdU-, Ki-67-, and DCX-immunoreactive cells were easily detected in the subgranular zone of the DG in vehicle (saline)-treated mice. However, BrdU-, Ki-67-, and DCX-immunoreactive cells in the 500 mg/kg EE-treated mice decreased distinctively compared to those in the vehicle-treated mice. In addition, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) immunoreactivity and its protein level decreased markedly in the DG of the EE-treated group compared to those in the vehicle-treated group. These results indicate that chronic treatment with high dose EE decreased cell proliferation and neuroblast differentiation, and that BDNF immunoreactivity decreased in the DG of EE-treated mice.</P>
