This study was carried out to develop the core technology for the manufacturing the flat floor panel with the bamboo grown in Damyang region maintaining its indigenous merits. Using capital bamboo(Phyllostachys bambusoides) of Damyang with superior physical and working properties, Authors have standardized the core technologies for the integrated production of flat floor panel using this superior bamboo i.e, washing, splitting, flattening, blasting, and overlaying over plywood. It is expected to increase the income from bamboo forest and to enhance the image of the eco-city, Damyang with this technological development. Additional quality assuring test and economical analysis for the industralization as building material will be performed.

Hydrogen Heat Treatment of Hydrogen Absorbing Materials
Park, Choong Nyeon 대한금속재료학회(대한금속학회) 2000 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.6 No.6
This study introduces the hydrogen heat treatment of hydrogen absorbing materials and its applicability for practical use. This treatment is somewhat different from normal heat treatment because of the interaction between metal atoms and hydrogen. Since hydrogen can be removed very fast by pumping it out the hydrogen-induced new lattice phase which can not be obtained without hydrogen can be preserved in a meta-stable state. A thermodynamic interpretation of the hydrogen heat treatment established previously was reformulated for graphical and analytical methods and applied to Pd-Pt-H and Pd-Ag-H alloy systems and a fair correlation between the calculation and experimental results was shown. The feasibility of applying the thermodynamic interpretation to intermetallic compounds-hydrogen systems was also discussed.

Electroless copper plating method was employed in copper coating of the (LM)Ni_(4.5)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.2)Al_(0.2) hydrogen storage alloy powders for the preparation of a hydride electrode by using an acidic bath containing only CuSO₄ and H₂SO₄. The coating characteristics and the electrode properties were examined by SEM, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and electrochemical measurements in a half cell. The coating was being performed very fast within 5 min. without any pretreatment at room temperature. It was shown that the maximum discharge capacity was 250mAh/g in all electrodes and was degraded with increasing number of cycles. As the alloy powder used was finer, the electrode reaction was faster. However the degradation of electrode was larger. It can be suggested that this electroless copper plating method could be applied to the preparation of the rare earth-nickel based alloy electrode.

The anomalous hydrogen solubilities in the deformed palladiums were analyzed by employing modified Kirchheim's model with considering the partially coherent strain energy which would induced during hydride precipitation around edge dislocations. The dislocation densities, obtained by this model, of the various cold worked and/or α↔β transformed palladium samples were the order of 10^(11)㎝^(-2) The partially coherent strain energies were about 3 kJ/㏖H and nearly same in the various samples. This value could be compared with the incoherent strain energy, 0.4kJ/㏖H, which was obtained from the hysteresis on, P-C isotherm, and the coherent strain energy calculated, 9.6kJ/㏖H.

The pulverization and alloy degradation phenomena in Nd_(15)Fe_(77)B_8 and Nd_(12)Fe_(70)Co_(10)B_7Ga₁ alloys upon the hydrogen absorption and desorption cycling have been investigated by measuring hydrogen solubility changes, microstructure observation and DSC thermal analysis. The cycling was performed by varing the temperature from 25℃ to 400℃ at a constant hydrogen pressure. As the number of cycles increased upto 15 cycles, the hydrogen solubility decreased markedly implying severe alloy degradations in both alloys, whereas the pulverization progressed small. The degadation could be attributed to the segregation of Nd or the precipitation of Nd-rich phases on the alloy surface and to the oxidation of those phases.
A Study of Hydrogen-Induced Metal Atom Rearrangement
Hak Noh,Choong Nyeon Park,Ted B . Flanagan 한국수소및신에너지학회 1996 한국수소 및 신에너지학회논문집 Vol.7 No.1
Metal atom rearrangement has been shown to take place under the influence of hydrogen-induced atomic diffusion(HIAD) in initially homogeneous fcc palladiumalloys by electron microprobe analysis, optical microscopy, mechanical property tests and hydrogen isotherms. HIAD takes place in palladium alloys at moderate to elevated temperatures leading to phase segregation under conditions where segregation does not normally occur, i.e., in the absence of H over the time scale of the experiments. From these results, it is confirmed that dissolved hydrogen plays a dual role in some of these alloys, i.e. it catalyzes metal atom diffusion. This research demonstrates the potential utility of employing H-induced changes for phase diagram determination of Pd alloys and possibly for other alloy system.

A chemical hysteresis and its temperature dependence in the LaNi_5-H system have been investigated by using a Sievert-type apparatus. The initial hydrogenation rate was controlled by the valve opening and the initial hydrogen pressure of a hydrogen gas reservoir. The pressure-composition isothermss in LaNi_5-H measured at 10, 30, and 50℃ varied sensitively with the hydrogenation rate and the temperature, implying an existence of a chemical hysteresis and its temperature dependence in this alloy. The chemical hysteresis decreased with increasing the temperature. By an annealing treatment of the activated LaNi_5 the temperature dependence of the chemical hysteresis decreased remarkably.
