This study has been focused on the development of automatic bottle air rinser. It is designed to rinse clean empty bottles prior to filling. The bottles are automatically indexed beneath an air nozzle that has both a clean airjet and vacuum source. The bottle is first given a burst of clean air to loosen any particles from the wall of the bottle. A vacuum sequence follows which removes all particulates into a self contained filter unit. In order to the provide the desired function, analysis is carried out by FEM simulation using FLUENT and CATIA software. The final results of analysis are applied to the design of automatic bottle rinser and the machine is successfully developed.

A thermo-viscoplastic finite element analysis is made for axisymmetric electro-upsetting process which is used for production of preforms of engine valves, flanged shaft and so on. The analysis of deformation and heat transfer are carried out for the process by decoupling the two analysis. An automatic remeshing technique is proposed by employing specially designed mesh structure. Process parameters, such as, heart transfer coefficient, upsetting temperature, heating current, feedrate of billet bar are discussed to obtain properly deformed shape.

This research simulated static state estimations by modelling the practical electric power system u korea. The static state estimator was designed by using the admittance and shunt capacitance of each bus. Voltage of each bus and its phase angle in the model network were estimated using the decoupling method based on the weighted least squares theory. After selecting bus 1 for the basis bus, average error of voltage estimation in each bus is 6.76(%)and that of phase angle is 2.95(%). Since average error is very small, this research can provide useful information to perform on-line control and economic load dispatching for the interconnected electric power system.

Amongst mechanical elements, a ball screw is the most important for feeding system. The ball screw requires high precision during machining process because a machine tool demands high accuracy. The high quality ball screw can be obtained by sustaining the lead accuracy, pre-load torque, and constant ball screw center diameter (BCD), etc. In this study, we are focused on the measurement of BCD and development of precision measuring instruments for the evaluation high quality ball screw. Finally, we can control the quality of a ball screw through the measurement of BCD.

A machining center is a complex dynamic system whose behavior influences the machining stability and machined surface quality. This paper focused on establishment of a measurement system and experimental study on static, dynamic, and modal analysis of a machining center. The dynamic stiffness result by the analysis showed the weak part of the machining center. The results provided structure modification data for getting better dynamic behaviors.

전기점성유체는 전기장내에서 유변물성이 빠르게 증가하는 현탁액이다. 전기장에 대한 물성의 응답속도가 매우 빠르고 전기장을 제거하면 원래의 유변물성을 가역적으로 가지는 특성이 있다. 그러므로 실용적인 측면에서 많은 응용분야가 있다. 전기점성유체는 자동변속기 오일에 전분입자를 첨가한 무게분율 35wt%의 분산계 ER유체를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 ER유체의 유량과 압력강하를 스트레인 게이지를 이용하여 계측하는데 있다. Electro-Rheoloical(ER) fluids are suspensions which show an abrupt increase in rheological properties under electric fields. The rheological response is very rapid and reversible when the electric field is imposed and/or removed. Therefore, there are many practical applications using the ER fluids. The ER fluid manufactured here is cousisted of starch particles dispersive ER fluid of weight fraction 35% in a automatic transmission oil. The purpose of the present study is flow rate and pressure drop measurement of an ER fluid by using strain gage.

A laser cutting M/C is designed for the precise fabrications in the machine recently. The cutter is a gantry type one with specified functions of movability and strength in order to satisfy the workability. The gantry frame should move with a certain velocity in a relatively short time for the proper cutting of the object materials. The gantry is fitted with rank and pinion and the acceleration field is formed by actuating this rack and pinion. The relative displacement should be within the allowable design criteria to make sure the precise cutting of the materials by the laser. In this paper, modal and structural analysis for a laser cutter which is commonly used in the fabrication of machine, is carried out to check the design criteria of the system. The system is modeled by placing the proper shell and solid finite elements and fictitious mass properties to represent the real one.

마이크로 열전센서는 마이크로히터와 열전소자로 구성된다. 열전도율이 낮고 내부응력이 최소화된 NON절연막 다이아프램을 LPCVD법, APCVD법 및 실리콘 이방성식각법을 각각 활용하여 형성하였다. Si_3N_4 및 SiO_2의 두께가 각각 1500Å 및 3000Å의 조합인 NON막이 가장 양호한 응력특성을 나타내었다. 고주파 스퍼터링법으로 형성된 백금박막을 이용한 히터와 온도감지기로 형성된 마이크로 가스유량센서를 제조하고 그 동작특성을 측정하였다. 유량센서의 동작특성은 100∼500sccm의 유량범위에서 양호한 선형성을 보였다. CMOS공정기술과 호환성을 갖는 마이크로 유량센서의 마스크패턴과 공정을 각각 설계하였다. A micro thermosensor is composed of a microheater and a thermo element. NON insulator diaphragm with low thermal conductivity and minimum internal stress was fabricated^by using LPCVD, APCVD and silicon anisotropic etch techniques. The deposited NON film represented the best stress characteristics when the thickness of Si_3N_4 and SiO_2 are 1500Å and 3000Å, respectively. A micro gas-flow sensor was fabricated and characterized that is consist of platinum thin film heater and temperature detector. The performance characteristics of the micro gas-flow sensor shows a good linearity within 100-500sccm flow rate range. Mask pattern and CMOS process of micro gas-flow sensor have been designed according to CMOS process technology.

Developmental anomalies of the aortic arch, commonly known as vascular rings, are relatively rare congenital vascular anomalies which can compress the trachea and esophagus. One routine chest film of a patient who was checked and hepatoma-diagnosed in Internal Medicine, Chosun University Hospital left the room for doubt of mediastinal mass. But no subjective symptoms for the mass was told by the patient. This is to report our experience of a patient having right side aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian artery, as proved by diagnosis, but none of congenital heart disease. This right side aortic arch with aberrant left subclavian artery is the most frequent type among right aortic arch, the anomaly of which is usually detected from the incidental suspicion for mediastinal mass at routine chest film; because no symptoms are accompanied therewith.

In this paper, the pole-placement method is used in order to design a self-tuning controller for a system represented by a discrete stochastic state equation. In designing a discrete adaptive controller, the problems faced are that the rules of adaptive control must be suitable in any situation which may be caused by perturbation of the parameters and the algorithms should be simplified so that the sampling time can be shortened as much as possible. It is shown that when the floe-placement method suggested by Beger is used a self-tuning controller can also be applied to a non-minimum phase system and the algorithms are simplified. The extended least-squares identification algorithm is used to obtain an unbiased estimation of the parameters. Though this approach has been applied only to the single input-output system, it can be extended to multi-variable systems.
