        The Missing Features of Alternants after Spell-Out

        Yu, Chong-Taek. 1997. The Missing Features of Alternants after Spell-Out. Linguistics, 5-2, 1-19. An alternant of for with FF, PF and SF (= full features) Φ (forFPSF) assigns governed Case (GC) to PRO and a lexical infinitive subject before Spell-Out (S-O). The missing SF of for and both missing SF and PF of D(f,rFPSF) vanish like bubbles after S-0, meeting the condition of inclusiveness. An alternant of a PL to Φ (toFPSF) misses SF and PF after S-0, and an alternant of a complementizer (comp.) that Φ(thatFPSF) does so. The missing features disappear without leaving any traces. It seems that all the lexical items and alternants never miss their FF in the computational system. (Chonbuk Sanup University)

INF checks off its IPM-feature against an INP feature of PL. A head of InfP, GerP, or ParP covertly checks off its feature against the FF of null- q' verb with a null-suffix, -ing, or -en. Inf checks off its an EPP feature against a D feature of DP. Ger covertly checks off its GPM-feature against a GEP-feature of gerundial part. Par checks off its PAM feature against a PAP feature of participial park A head of Par-ProP Par-Pro checks off its PAPRM-feature against a PAPRP-feature of been.         On Multiple Spec-CP Structures

The [+wh]-features of wh-words should be checked against the [+Q]-feature of C in the computational system (C_HL) in order to obey both the Last Resort (LR) and the Condition on the Feature-checking of Multiple Wh-words (CFM). Bulgarian, Serbo-Croatian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and English languages are sure to obey the CFM in the multiple Spec-CP structures. According to the Condition on the (Multiple) Spec-CP Structure of an English Question (CSEQ), an English question should contain a (multiple) Spec-CP structure at least such. as NQ: [cp a wh-word ([c'-FF_(a. wh-ward) [_c' …) (an aux.)         Verb-Raising and Case-Agreement

        Chong-Taek Yu(1993). Verb-Rasing and Case-Agreement. Linguistics. Vol 1. This paper follows the Johnson's (1989) assumption that verbal inflection is always mediated by verb raising. All the verb heads-main verb, modal, be/have and participle heads-raise to the inflectional head positions and amalgamate with the fusible affixes. While the verb heads undergo a head-to-head movement, VP-internal subject(SU) and object(OB) raise to the Spec positions of AgrP by means of the Mutually Agreement-resisting Properties(MAP). This paper assumes that MAP makes SU and OB skip over the minimal domain. The raising SU and OB are always assigned agreement Case(AC). Even Genitive NP and indirect object(10) in the double object construction are also assigned AC, but direct object(DO) in it and prepositional object are assigned governed Case(GC). Besides, this paper proposes that the Stowell's (1981) CRP be refined in relation to Case agreement.

        The Deletion of Q-Feature of C

        Yu, Chong-Taek. 1999. The Deletion of Q-Feature of C. Linguistics 7-2, 143-162. The Q-feature of C checks the Q-feature of a non-wh- or (a) wh-phrase(s) through the Attract or Agree in syntax, deleting there right after the new whole syntactic structure was copied into phonology. The Q-feature of a non-wh-phrase is covertly Attracted from inner C to outer C in C^omax. All the non-wh- or wh-phrases move covertly or overtly to C or Spec-CP for checking their Q-features. An EQ seems to have double Specs-CP-inner Spec and outer Spec. English never permits more than one lexical wh-phrase in the same CP. Nevertheless, the Q-feature of C can Attract the Q-features of multiple wh-phrases. (Howon University)

        On Infinite Functional Categories

        Yu, Chong-Taek. 2000. On Infinite Functional Categories. Linguistics 8-2, 1-24. An infinite phrase is assumed to contain a functional head FH, which is a head of an InfP Inf, that of a GerP Ger or that of a ParP Par. Besides both quasi- and selectional features, Inf contains an uninterpretable ψ-incomplete, i.e., a [person]-feature, Ger a [number]-feature, and Par a [number]- and [gender]-feature, and a Case-feature. An InfP is selected by C or v^*. The C seems to contain v-complete (including a Case-feature) by which the T -complete of an infinitival subject can be deleted in narrow syntax. The v^* is a light verb containing ψ-complete in a construction with full argument structure. A FH C selecting a GerP does not contain a [+Q]-feature to Attract a wh-feature unlike an InfP. Besides, a ParP is selected by not C but V. (Howon University)

      • 효소처리 찹쌀 전분의 이화학적 성질 및 유과제조 특성

        유과 제조 시 제조 시간을 단축할 수 있는 소재를 개발하기 위하여 찹쌀 전분을 4가지 상업용 α-amylase 효소와 반응시켜 효소처리 찹쌀 전분을 제조하고 이들의 이화학적 특성을 연구하였다. 효소처리 찹쌀 전분의 팽윤력 및 용해도는 일반 찹쌀 전분에 비해 많이 증가되는 경향을 보였다. 등온흡습곡선에서는 효소처리에 따른 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았다. RVA특성을 검토한 결과 최대 점도, holding strength, final viscosity, break down, setback은 일반 찹쌀 전분보다 낮아지는 결과를 나타냈다. 열적특성에서는 아밀로펙틴 용해 개시온도, 아밀로펙틴 용해 종결온도 그리고 아밀로펙틴 용해 온도범위(△T)는 각 전분간에 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았으며 아밀로펙틴 용해 엔탈피 역시 유의적인 차이를 나타내지 않았다. X-ray 회절 분석 결과로 볼 때, 효소처리 찹쌀 전분 및 일반 찹쌀 전분 모두 A형의 결정 형태를 나타내었고, 상대적 결정화도의 차이가 나타나지 않는 것으로 보아 효소처리가 찹쌀 전분의 결정형영역에는 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 보여진다. 효소처리 찹쌀 전분을 사용하여 제조한 유과의 경우 과도한 점도손실에 의해 반죽을 제조하지 못하여 본 연구에서 사용한 효소치리 정도가 부적합한 것으로 판단되었다. Physicochemical properties of partially hydrolyzed waxy rice starches with various α-amylases were investigated to reduce processing-time of yukwa (Korean traditional puffed rice snack). Four commercial α-amylases (Fungamyl, Termamyl, Liquozyme, Kleis tase) were used in this work. Waxy rice starches (20% solid content) were treated with same unit of four α-amylases at 40℃ and pH 6.0 for 1 hour. Partially hydrolyzed waxy rice starches showed higher swelling power and solubility than native waxy rice starch. Pasting temperature and peak viscosity of partially hydrolyzed waxy rice starches were lower than those of native starch. DSC thermal transitions of partially hydrolyzed waxy rice starches shifted to higher temperature than native waxy rice starch possibly due to hydrolysis of amorphous region and some double helical structure. X-ray diffraction patterns of both native and partially hydrolyzed waxy rice starches were typical A-type pattern indicating that alpha-amylase cannot disrupt the crystalline structure in this condition.

        Several ?? glasses were prepared in the range of 30-50 molar percent Fe₂O₃with BaO contents varying from 0 to 10 molar percent. Resistivity measurements of these glasses as a function of temperature from 30 to 210℃ showed that the resistivity decreases with increasing Fe₂O₃contents and temperature, and the resistivity measurements on these glasses reveal a sharp break in the slope of the dependence of log resistivity upon reciprocal temperature. From the chemical analysis of ??, ?? contents in the glasses, it was confirmed that the electrical conduction in the glasses is attributed to the electron hopping process between ?? and ??.

        A study is to divide consumer's spending pattern into life style and fashion behaviour, analyzing the interrelation of fashion behaviour according to life style, which brings about the following summarized results. First, as a result of the analysis of consumer's life style, most reveal to be an independent pioneering group and there is no significant difference between clients and staffs. Second, by analysis result from consumer's fashion behaviour pattern, it appears that factors as for sale promotion and quality enhancement have a meaningful variable. In case clients are concerned, buying ability, fashion sense and purchasing method have something meaningful. In addition, as to all customers and staffs, it turns out that a type of spending for pleasure and a type of independent pioneering have something to do closely with fashion sense.
