      • Three-dimensional morphological evaluation of the hard palate in Korean adults with mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate differences in threedimensional(3D) morphology of the hard palate between Korean adults with and without mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) using conebeam computed tomographic (CBCT) data. Methods: The protocol for the twodimensional(2D) and 3D mathematical modeling was established by analyzing CBCT images of 30 adults with OSA and 30 matched controls without OSA, using MIMICS software. The linear and angular measurements were also determined using this software. The measurements were repeated for 30 palates, by the same operator, to assess reliability. Results: The palates of OSA patients were higher in the posterior part and narrower in the anterior-superior part than those of the control group (p < 0.05). The nasal cavities of patients with OSA were narrower (p < 0.05) than those of controls. The increasing angle of the first molar palatal root is a compensation of the upper dental arch to improve occlusion. However, for most palatal measurements, there were no significant differences between the OSA and control groups (p > 0.05). The results of 2D and 3D mathematical models were consistent for linear and angular measurements, indicating that 2D and 3D mathematical modeling of the palate is a reliable methodology. Conclusions: OSA is a multifactorial disease; the palates of adults with mild-to-moderate OSA do not have specific morphological features distinct from those of healthy controls.

        A Novel Improved Droop Control for Grid-Supporting Inverter Combined with the Virtual Synchronous Generator Control

        To satisfy different dynamic performances for energy storage grid-supporting inverter in both stand-alone (SA) and grid-connected (GC) states simultaneously, the new improved droop control (IDC) strategy is proposed. The control strategy is designed through combining with the virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control, and it incorporates a novel adaptive control. The IDC has good power tracking ability without large overshoot or oscillation. What is more, the IDC has the ability to afford sufficient damping properties, virtual inertia, and it has faster response speed. Moreover, the IDC improves the shortcomings of droop and VSG control. It has excellent performance under both the GC and SA states. In the end, the correctness of proposed control strategy is proven through the control hardware-in-loop (CHIL) experiments.

      • Research and Application of Network Router Link Prediction Method

        Multiple Autonomous systems (ASes) of the network are usually consisted of many routers such as inter-router and intra-router connection each other. In order to detect the network routers connection relationship, many researchers at home or abroad use various methods such as active end-to-end links detection or observing SNMP MIBs to understand the links’ connection relationship among the routers in network’ ASes. In this paper, by using the link prediction algorithm based on the similarity, we tried to predict the links’ connection relationship and got the possible network topology structure among the network’ ASes when the actual connection link don’t be completely detected. Through the experiments, the prediction results can be seen that the similarity algorithm index of ACT, SRW, and SimRank based on the random walk can also achieve better prediction accuracy above 0.95, which prove the similarity index especially the random walk algorithm can realize the higher link prediction accuracy to the network’ ASes under the conditions of missing some known connection link, etc.

        A GLOBALLY AND SUPERLIEARLY CONVERGENT FEASIBLE SQP ALGORITHM FOR DEGENERATE CONSTRAINED OPTIMIZATION

        In this paper, A FSQP algorithm for degenerate inequality constraints optimization problems is proposed. At each iteration of the proposed algorithm, a feasible direction of descent is obtained by solving a quadratic programming subproblem. To overcome the Maratos effect, a higher-order correction direction is obtained by solving another quadratic programming subproblem. The algorithm is proved to be globally convergent and superlinearly convergent under some mild conditions. Finally, some preliminary numerical results are reported.

        <P>Diabetes was associated with a 26% increased risk of death from any cancer in Asians. The pattern of associations with specific cancers suggests the need for better control (prevention, detection, management) of the growing epidemic of diabetes (as well as obesity), in order to reduce cancer mortality.</P>

      • A New Designed Expander Supported by Spike Miniscrews With Enhanced Stability

        <P>Introduction: This article represents a new design of expanderspike expanderto correct transverse maxillary deficiency. This new type appliance is easy to fabricate, more hygienic, and less soft-tissue irritation because of elimination of acrylic plate. In addition, because of the position of mini-implant, it can provide a relatively parallel alveolar expansion, compared with other types of expander. Materials and Methods: The spike expander consists of 2 parts: 4 spike screws and an expansion screw. Four spike screws were placed on the palatal slope. After installation of the spike screws, based on the position of spike screw, the extension arms of expansion screw were bended on the cast model, and connected to the spike screws by adding resin. The expansion screw was turned once a day (0.25mm/d), and the process was terminated at 6 weeks. Results: The stability and design of the spike screw enable widening of maxilla easier. Compared with other expander, spike expander reduces the forces being placed directly on teeth, which can maximize skeletal expansion, minimize dental tipping, produce a relatively parallel expansion, and reduce soft-tissue irritation caused by acrylic pads. Furthermore, the teeth can be aligned and leveled simultaneously using the fixed appliance because teeth are free of contact by the expander. And the best point for spike expander is that it is simply fabricated and removed. Conclusions: The design of spike expander is combining spike screws and an expansion screw, which can provide a good and easy treatment method for transverse maxillary deficiency.</P>

        A Primary Research on Legislation of Leading Maritime City Development of Xiamen

        Based on the relatively comprehensive evaluation system and definition constructed by Menon Economics and DNV in "The leading maritime cities of the world"[1], the government needs to consider shipping, finance and law, maritime technology, attractiveness&competitiveness when building a global leading maritime city five dimensions. This article will study from a legal point of view, taking Xiamen as a case study. If Xiamen wants to build a leading maritime city of the world, the legislation of the sea is an area that cannot be ignored. The Xiamen Municipal Government is very concerned about areas that can significantly increase GDP, such as maritime technology and marine industries. While, insufficient attention has been paid to the Legislation of the Sea. Like Shenzhen's political status, Xiamen is a "Special Economic Zone" and "Independent Planning Status". The Xiamen government enjoys legislative powers beyond that of general cities. However, due to the late start of constructing the Maritime legal system in Xiamen, there are many shortcomings: marine lack of collaboration mechanism, lack of soft power of the maritime rule of law, etc. Therefore, the Xiamen Municipal Government should first understand the importance of the legislation of the sea and then make up for the shortcomings as soon as possible. While reasonably learning from advanced international experience such as British law, we should promote the process of China's "Basic Law of the Sea" legislation and promote the progress of Xiamen's legislation of the sea to promote Xiamen's relevant laws such as sea-related dispute settlement. The establishment of service institutions enables Xiamen to actively participate in the governance of the global marine legal system, enhance the public's awareness of marine legal affairs, and cultivate specialized marine legal elites. (Independent Planning Status: Municipalities with Independent Planning Status under the National Social and Economic Development. ) Under the background of Xiamen's concentrated resources to build the world-leading maritime city, this paper analyzes the challenges faced by Xiamen's marine economic development, combined with China's national strategy. It analyzes the current situation of Xiamen from the perspective of law construction. Learn from experience with U.K. marine-related law. The feasibility of legislation in Xiamen is analyzed. The path of law construction is put forward: ① Constructing the legal system of the maritime rule of law; ② Constructing a settlement center for maritime disputes; ③ Paying attention to the global maritime rule of law governance; ④ Enhancing the soft power of the maritime rule of law. Legislative suggestions for local governments are put forward: ① Clarify the development orientation of the marine economy; ② Form a planning system and structural layout; ③ Establish an incentive mechanism and supporting measures; ④ Form a financial support service system; ⑤ Formulate safeguard measures for coordinated development; ⑥ Clarify the content of Taiwan cooperation and international development.
