韓國型出血熱은 出血性傾向, 急性腎不全等의 臨床像을 보이는 急性熱性 바이러스疾患으로서 1951年 비무장지대에서 유엔군에 衣해 처음 발견 報告된 疾病이다. 韓國型出血熱은 여러 장기에 紫斑 및 出血性 傾向이 나타난다고 되었으나 생체에서 胃粘膜下의 出血性 病變에 對해서 아직 報告된 바가 없다. 著者는 臨床所見 및 患者의 血淸에서 Korea antigen 陽性으로 判明된 12名의 出血熱患者에 對해 胃內視鏡 檢査를 施行하였다. 出血熱患者 12名 全例에서 胃粘膜下의 出血斑이 發見되었으며 이 出血斑의 樣狀은 胃粘膜 部位에 따라 여러 크기와 모양을 다르게 나타내었다. 胃皺壁部에는 주로 線狀 또는 紡垂狀의 出血斑을 보이며 기타 胃粘膜部位의 出血斑은 대개 불규칙적인 모양을 나타내고 있었다. 胃粘膜下의 出血部位와 臨床症狀의 時期에 따른 特徵的인 연관은 없었으나 臨床症狀이 심할수록 胃粘膜과 皺壁의 出血斑은 部位가 넓고 심한것이 觀察되었다. 著者는 韓國型出血熱에 있어 胃內視鏡 檢査로서 特徵的인 所見을 發見하고 臨床經過에 따른 差異를 比較檢討하였으며 이 疾患의 診斷에 도움이 된다고 思料되었기에 文獻考察과 함께 報告하는 바이다.
Extracting the Weak phases phi_2 and phi_3 from the amplitude parametrization

We determine the weak phases and the amplitudes by proposing parametrization to each topology of amplitudes in powers of the Wolfenstein parameter 0:22. Comparing this parametrization with available measurements, we can obtain the phase 3 from the B ! K data up to a theoretical uncertainty of O(3) 1%. We nd that the recently measured B0 d ! 00 branching ratio implies a large color-suppressed or penguin amplitude, and that the extraction of the phase 2 from the B ! data may suer a theoretical uncertainty of more than the expected one of O(2) 5%.

Generally, the standard sizes of military combat fatigues should be determined by considering the coverage rate in order to minimize the military personnel who can't put on the ready made military combat fatigues. The coverage rate should be increased by the longer interval of the standard size but the satisfactory rate will be decreased due to the longer interval of size. This study develops a method selecting optimal standard sizes of the military combat fatigues in order to maximize the satisfactory rate that insures the coverage rate to meet a given level for ready made military combat fatigues. This method selects candidate standard sizes at first, normalizes the coverage and satisfactory rate for the selected candidate standard sizes at second and finally, establishes a 0-1 integer programming model. The result shows that the method increases both coverage and satisfactory rate more than those of the previous method.

We study the off-equilibrium effects of the in aton field on the dynamics of primordial perturbations in the O(N) model. A self-consistent off-equilibrium formalism is employed to investigate the evolution of the in ationary background eld and its uctuations with the back-reaction effects. We nd two observable remains left behind after the off-equilibrium processes: the running spectral index of primordial density perturbations and the correlations between perturbation modes in phase space, which can serve as the imprints to probe the epoch of in ation, and beyond.

Baizhi (Angelica dahurica) has been widely used as a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, functional food and cosmetic product ingredient, mostly because of the high furanocoumarin compounds in roots. Because the fresh root is perishable, drying techniques are needed to maintain a higher-quality product. Freeze-drying is the best method but energy-consuming and costly. The aim of this study was to analyze the quality (antioxidant and furanocoumarin content) of Baizhi roots after freeze-drying (the control) and in-the-shade, 40 and 70 C drying. Antioxidant activity was revealed by 2,2-diphenyl-1- picrylhydrazyl and Fe2? chelating assay, and the content of six furanocoumarin compounds, including xanthotoxin, bergapten, oxypeucedanin, imperatorin, phellopterin and isoimperatorin, was analyzed by liquid chromatography. Antioxidant activity was greater in roots with in-the-shade, 40 and 70 C drying than freeze-drying. The furanocoumarin content pattern was similar with 70 C drying and freeze-drying. A. dahurica roots dried at 70 C may be an alternative method for maintaining high quality.
Estimating the Flaw Size in Drilled Shafts Using an Impulse Response Method

Flaws could occur in drilled shafts due to improper quality control, poor workmanship, and unexpected construction mistakes,and thus seriously decrease the loading capacity. This paper proposes a flaw size estimation formula for use in the impulse response test of drilled shafts. Numerical models were built to develop the estimation formula. The experimental cases also validate the estimation. The flaw depth ratio and stiffness ratio are two key parameters to accomplish the estimation. With the evaluation results of the formula, one can know the possible minimum flaw size in the drilled shaft and further remedial measures can be taken immediately. Furthermore, the detectable shaft slenderness ratio is shown to vary from 10 to 30, depending on the stiffness ratio.
