Curcumin and its analogues have been reported to exert anti-cancer activity against a variety of tumors. Here, we reported A501, a new curcumin analogue. The effect of A501 on cell viability was detected by MTT assay, the result showed that A501 had a better inhibiting effect on the four non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells than that of curcumin. Moreover, Colony forming experiment showed A501 significant restrained cell proliferation. Flow cytometry displayed A501 can cause G2/M arrest and induce apoptosis. Western blotting showed that A501 decreased the expression of cyclinB1, cdc-2, bcl-2, while increased the expression of p53, cleaved caspase-3 and bax. In conclusion, curcumin analogues A501 played antitumor activity by inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis of NSCLC cells. And it was likely to be a promising starting point for the development of curcumin-based anticancer drugs.

Wang Chao,Chen Juan,Jia Hongguang,Shi Baosong,Zhu Ruifei,Wei Qun,Yu Linyao,Ge Mingda 한국광학회 2015 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.19 No.2
Image deblurring by a deconvolution method requires accurate knowledge of the blur kernel. Existingpoint spread function (PSF) models in the literature corresponding to lens aberrations and defocus are eitherparameterized and spatially invariant or spatially varying but discretely defined. In this paper, aparameterized model is developed and presented for a PSF which is spatially varying due to lens aberrationsand defocus in an imaging system. The model is established from the Seidel third-order aberrationcoefficient and the Hu moment. A skew normal Gauss model is selected for parameterized PSF geometrystructure. The accuracy of the model is demonstrated with simulations and measurements for a defocusedinfrared camera and a single spherical lens digital camera. Compared with optical software Code V, thevisual results of two optical systems validate our analysis and proposed method in size, shape and direction. Quantitative evaluation results reveal the excellent accuracy of the blur kernel model

<P>We report ambient electrochemical N2 fixation at low overpotentials by using two-dimensional (2D) β-boron. The metal-free catalyst afforded both an excellent NH3 yield rate and faradaic efficiency, approximately two times higher than those of bulk boron. We found that several binding sites, especially those involving icosahedral boron in the 2D material, can indeed catalyze N2 reduction efficiently with strong N2 adsorption, thus benefiting initial activation.</P>

A fast gamma-ray dose rate assessment method for complex geometries based on stylized modelreconstruction and point-kernel method is proposed in this paper. The complex three-dimensional (3D)geometries are imported as a 3DS format file from 3dsMax software with material and radiometric attributes. Based on 3D stylized model reconstruction of solid mesh, the 3D-geometrical solids are automaticallyconverted into stylized models. In point-kernel calculation, the stylized source models aredivided into point kernels and the mean free paths (mfp) are calculated by the intersections betweenshield stylized models and tracing ray. Compared with MCNP, the proposed method can implementcomplex 3D geometries visually, and the dose rate calculation is accurate and fast.
Predicament, Opportunity and Path: Reflections on the Development of Tai Chi in the New Era
LI Qun,FENG CHAO-Hai,LEI Tao,WU Zh-iheng,SU Jian-jiao 아시아건강운동학회 2021 Journal of Asian Society for Health & Exercise Vol.3 No.2
The new era has entrusted the era mission of high-quality development of Tai Chi. Standing in a new historical position, this thesis uses the method of literature and logical analysis to explore the realistic difficulties, opportunities of the times and breakthrough paths in the development of Tai Chi, which is a reflection on the breakthrough of the development of it. The research believes that the development of Tai Chi in the new era has the predicament of slow domestic and international development, the gradual dissipation of martial arts functions, and the gradual weakening of cultural attributes. However, the new era has also brought a new opportunity for the Tai Chi movement to have a clearer development blueprint, a more stable social foundation, and a healthy concept deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. The development of Tai Chi in the new era should be guided by a new pattern of domestic development and international promotion. The development of Tai Chi in the new era should be guided by the construction of a new dual-cycle pattern of domestic development and international promotion, the strategy of coordinating the balance of Tai Chi sports competition and fitness functions, and the means of the integration of school education and cultural exchange, so as to realize the high-quality development of Tai Chi.

Published data have shown that the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and soluble VEGF receptor-1 (sVEGFR-1) in plasma and pleural effusion might be usefulness for lung cancer diagnosis. Here, we performed a prospective study to investigate the utility of VEGF and sVEGFR-1 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) for differential diagnosis of primary lung cancer. A total of 56 patients with solitary pulmonary massed by chest radiograph or CT screening were enrolled in this study. BALF and plasma samples were obtained from all patients and analyzed for VEGF and sVEGFR-1 using a commercially available sandwich ELISA kit. The results showed that the levels of VEGF in BALF were significantly higher in patients with a malignant pulmonary mass compared with patients with a benign mass (P < 0.001). However, no significant difference of sVEGFR-1 in BALF was found between malignant and non-malignant groups (P = 0.43). With a cut-off value of 214 pg/ml, VEGF showed a sensitivity and specificity of 81.8% and 84.2%, respectively, in predicting the malignant nature of a solitary pulmonary mass. Our study suggests that VEGF is significantly increased in BALF among patients with lung cancer than in benign diseases. Measurement of VEGF in BALF might be helpful for differential diagnosis of primary lung cancer.

When manufacturing axial piston pumps, mass difference of piston-slipper assembly is inevitable because of manufacturing precision limits. Small mass difference may not cause problems when the pump operates at low speeds, while it cannot be ignored at high speeds. One problem related to high speed is the cylinder block tilt resulting from the inertial effect of piston-slipper assembly. Recently, the speed of electro-hydrostatic actuator (EHA) pump in aircraft can reach more than 10,000 rpm. Therefore, mass difference of pistonslipper assembly should be taken into account in future EHA pump design. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of the mass difference of piston-slipper assembly on the cylinder block tilt in a high-speed EHA pump. A detailed set of relevant equations is developed to establish the relationship between the mass difference of piston-slipper assembly and cylinder block tilting moment. It is found that a tighter control over the mass difference of piston-slipper assembly should be guaranteed when it comes to high-speed EHA pumps.

Objective: To explore the mechanism of Toll-like receptor (TLR4) inhibition in the delay of formation of atherosclerosis by herb-partition moxibustion. Method: Seventy-five rabbits were randomly assigned to one of five groups: blank, atherosclerosis (AS) model, direct moxibustion, herb-partition moxibustion, and drug treatment. With the exception of the blank group, all rabbits were given a high-fat diet in addition to immunologic injury to create the AS model. The experiments were carried out for 16 weeks, at which time the aorta was removed from each rabbit. Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the gray level of the aortic TLR4 to observe the immunologic competence of its antigens. Fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction was used to detect the expression of TLR4 messenger RNA (mRNA) in the aorta. Results: The gray-scale value of TLR4 and the TLR4 mRNA expression significantly decreased (p < 0.05) in the direct moxibustion, herb-partition moxibustion, and drug treatment groups. Furthermore, the effects of the herb-partition moxibustion and drug treatment were superior to those of the direct moxibustion. Conclusion: Herb-partition moxibustion inhibits aortic TLR4 activity and mRNA expression, showing that herb-partition moxibustion delays the formation of atherosclerosis through the inhibition of TLR4 expression.

This paper applies a modified structural vector autoregressive (SVAR) model to explore whether explicit structural oil price shocks affect investor sentiment in China’s stock market. The results indicate that China’s investor sentiment responds significantly positively to OPEC supply shocks, while it responds significantly negatively to oil-specific demand shocks. However, China’s stock investor sentiment does not respond to aggregate demand shocks and non-OPEC supply shocks. In addition, OPEC supply shocks and oil-specific demand shocks have greater explanatory power for variations in stock investor sentiment through variance decomposition.
