        Korean Reflexive Pronoun Caki and Its Referent NP's Point of View

        Reflexivization in Korean by means of caki has been studied by a number of Korean linguists, the most representative ones among them being Chung-Min Lee(1973) and Wha Chun Kim(1975). Regardless of whether any of their works could provide a satisfactory explanation about the phenomenon of Korean Reflexivization or not, one thing that has become increasingly clear is that, unlike English Reflexivization, Korean Reflexivization has no strict clause-bound constraint and its behavior and function when it occurs are extremely complicated. Due to the lack of the clause-bound constraint in Korean Reflexivization, it has been sometimes claimed that Reflexivization in Korean is almost equivalent to the combination of English Pronominalization and Reflexivization (cf. Chung-Min Lee 1973: 106).

        Nanoconfinement-mediated Cancer Theranostics

        Despite various therapeutic or diagnostic developments,cancer is still one of the most lethal diseases due toinsuffi ciently adequate treatments and the delay of the earlystage of disease detection. An image-guided drug deliverysystem (IGDDS), as a real-time noninvasive imagingassessment of therapeutic response, has the strong potentialto improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer becauseits imaging property off ers the quantifi cation of nanomedicineat the intended disease sites, the possible assurance ofadequate treatment and elimination of undesirable delay ofearly-stage diagnosis due to low resolution. One of potentialmodality that overcomes these challenges could be thenanoconfi nement of gold (Au) nanoparticles within othernanoparticles called "Particle-in-Particle (PIP)", which is astrong candidate of cancer treatment because of its "theranostic(therapy + diagnostics)" advantages including imaging(e.g., CT) and therapeutic hyperthermia application. Inthis review, we will elaborate on the current application oftheranostic by nanoconfi nement. Then, we will narrow downthe gold nanoparticle-mediated theranostic application andits nanoconfi nement advantages. Finally, the future directionfor maximum nanoconfi nement mediated cancer therapy willbe included.

        포스트 코로나 대비 항공종사자 건강증진 방안: 싱잉볼 명상을 중심으로

        COVID-19 has severely impacted the aviation industry, with air travel declining sharply and airlines cutting capacity as a result. Additionally, many countries have closed their borders to block spread of the virus. Air traffic controllers and pilots have also experienced negative effects, in that the experience required to maintain proficiency has decreased over the past three years. This has resulted in financial problems for airlines and air traffic control facilities, leading to increased job uncertainty and a manpower imbalance. As air traffic volumes begin to increase again, air traffic controllers and pilots responsible for passenger safety may experience extreme stress and anxiety in new situations. To address this problem, healthcare methods are needed to help aviation professionals to overcome stress and reduce anxiety. Meditation can stabilize the autonomic nervous system, promote relaxation and comfort in the mind and body, and could aid in smooth metabolism by suppressing the sympathetic nerves that cause our bodies to feel tension and activating the parasympathetic nerves. However, achieving the benefits of meditation can require time and effort, and general meditation can be challenging for individuals experiencing physical pain. Therefore, singing bowl meditation is recommended, as it can easily induce a meditative state. The sounds produced by Tibetan singing bowls can promote meditation by tuning the alpha waves, theta waves, and gamma waves of electoencephalography. Singing bowl meditation is a beneficial method for individuals with limited time or physical disabilities due to work schedules, such as air traffic controllers and pilots, to easily access meditation.

        Analysis of wire-drawing process with friction and thermal conditions obtained by inverse engineering

        In cold wire-drawing process, which is performed at room temperature, heat is generated because of plastic work and friction at the workpiece-die interface. Temperature distribution in both the workpiece and the die affects thermal expansion, deformation pattern, and elastic recovery. These effects produce the final dimension of the drawn products. We propose inverse engineering procedures to determine friction and thermal conditions by comparing simple measurements with the computational results of the drawing power and the temperature changes of the die. The conditions were then used to simulate numerically the deformation behavior of the wire and the temperature distribution in the die. The thermal effects on the quality of drawn products were investigated based on the prediction of the final dimensions of the products. Therefore, thermal effects should not be ignored even in cold wire-drawing process because reasonable numerical results were acquired in comparing the experiments.

        Simulation Methods Development for a Plant Unit Master Control Logic Using Simulink in MATLAB

        발전소 유닛마스터제어(UMC)용 시뮬레이터는 국내 및 해외에서 운전원 훈련 목적으로 개발되어 왔다. 일반적으로 UMC 시뮬레이터는 발전소 건설 마지막에 구축되는데, UMC 로직은 발전설비 내에 있는 많은 신호들 간의 간섭사항들을 사전에 확인하기 위해 시뮬레이션이 필수적으로 필요하지만 공정 일정 차이로 인하여 플랜트 로직 설계자나 시운전 엔지니어들이 UMC 로직을 시뮬레이션 하기는 쉽지 않다. 이러한 배경으로 본 논문에서는 발전소 로직 설계자와 운전원들이 매틀 랩에서 제공하는 시뮬링크 환경에서 손쉽게 구현할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 방법을 제안한다. UMC의 핵심기능이 수학적 분석과 기능 블록 조합이 기본으로 구성된 독특한 시뮬레이션 알고리즘을 통해 구현된다. 또한, 로직 내 설비 목표값 제어를 위해 정수기반 구성도가 제안된다. 이러한 시뮬레이션 기법들을 통해 부하 분배, 상·하한치 제한, 주파수 보상 등의 기능들이 시뮬링크 내에서 성공적으로 구현될 수 있음을 보이고, 결과적으로 우리는 UMC 로직을 플랜트 시뮬레이터 없이도 시뮬링크에서 구현할 수 있음을 보인다. 본 논문에서 제시한 다양한 시뮬레이션 기법들은 발전소 건설 기간 중 플랜트 로직 설계자 또는 시운전 엔지니어들을 위한 시뮬링크 기반의 시뮬레이션 설계 관련한 양질의 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. The simulators for a plant unit master control (UMC) developed by domestic or overseas researchers have been developed for operator-training purposes. UMC simulators normally constructed at the end of the plant construction, despite the UMC logics, should be simulated to pre-check many signal interfaces within the power generation systems. Because of the differences in construction schedule, it is difficult for logic designers or commissioning engineers to simulate the UMC logic during the design or commissioning stage. In this background, this paper proposes a simulation method that can be used easily by plant logic designers or operators in the MATLAB Simulink programming environment. The core of the UMC is realized with a unique simulation algorithm based on mathematical analysis and functional blocks combination. In addition, an integer-based configuration was proposed to realize the plant target value control for the equipment in the logic. With these simulation methods, functions, e.g., load distribution, high-low limitations, frequency compensation, etc. were simulated. The results showed that the plant UMC logic can be simulated in Simulink without a plant simulator. The various functions proposed in this paper can provide useful information about Simulink-based simulation design for plant logic designers or commissioning engineers during the power plant construction period.

        지리산권 촌락 가옥의 유형과 특성

        이 연구는 지리산권 촌락을 연구지역으로 설정하여 촌락 가옥의 유형과 특성에 관해 지붕 형태를 중심으로 고찰하는 연구이다. 지리산권 45개 촌락의 연구대상 가옥(1,862호)을 분석한 바에 의하면, 기초단위지붕(정형화된 틀을 가진 지붕)은 ‘팔작지붕’, ‘맞배지붕’, ‘우진각지붕’, ‘외쪽지붕’, ‘꺾인지붕’, ‘모임지붕’, ‘반원지붕’, ‘단순평지붕’, ‘눈썹평지붕’과 같이 아홉 가지 종류로 나타난다. 연구대상 가옥은 일차적으로 한 종류의 기초단위지붕으로만 구성되는 ‘단일양식지붕’ 가옥(1,753호)과 두 종류 이상의 기초단위지붕으로 나타나는 ‘결합양식지붕’ 가옥(109호)으로 구분된다. 그리고 단일양식지붕은 ‘경사지붕’(1,327호)과 ‘평지붕’(426호)으로 구분되고, 결합양식지붕은 ‘경사·평지붕’(59호)과 ‘경사·경사지붕’(50호)으로 구분된다. 연구대상 가옥의 지붕 형태를 살펴보면, 팔작지붕이 723호(38.8%)로 가장 많고, 다음은 단순평지붕이 376호(20.2%), 맞배지붕이 317호(17.0%), 우진각지붕이 262호(14.1%), 눈썹평지붕이 50호(2.6%)로 그 뒤를 잇는다. 나머지 지붕 형태는 연구대상 가옥 중에서 차지하는 비율이 1.4% 이하로 매우 낮다. 연구대상 가옥 중에서 평지붕 가옥의 옥상에 경사 지붕을 증축한 가옥은 109호이고, 2층 혹은 3층의 복층 가옥은 185호이다. 촌락 가옥의 지붕 형태는 자연환경 요인이나 정책 요인 등에 영향을 받기도 하지만, 무엇보다도 촌락 가옥의 지붕 형태 그 자체가 바로 문화적 현상이라고 이해할 필요가 있다. This study deals with the types and characteristics of rural housings in Mt. Jirisan Area with special reference to their roof types. The analysis of the 1,862 houses in the study area reveals that there are nine types of the basic roof: hip-and-gable roof, gable roof, hip roof, shed roof, folded roof, one-summit hip roof, barrel roof, simple-flat roof, and eyebrow-and-flat roof. The roof types of rural housing are first classified into single-style roof (1,753 houses) and combined-style roof (109 houses) according to the number of the basic roof. The single-style roof is further divided into pitched roof (1,327 houses) and flat roof (426 houses), and the combined-style roof is divided into pitched-and-flat roof (59 houses) and pitched-and-pitched roof (50 houses). Among the houses in the study area, there are 109 houses which have extended the pitched roof over the original flat roof, and 185 houses which have multi-storied layers. The roof types adopted by houses in Mt. Jirisan area are not only influenced by the location of the city or county of the houses, but also by environmental factors as well as governmental policies. However, the cultural factor should be considered as the most important determinant of roof type adopted by the houses. Therefore, the research on the types and characteristics of rural housing may help us understand the regional and the cultural characteristics of Korean rural area.
