      • 선인장 양심실 보조장치의 설계 및 임상적용을 위한 평가

        현재 개발되고 있는 맥동형 이식형 인공심장은 완전이식형 인공심장과 좌심실보조장치 뿐이다. 좌심실보조장치를 장착한 환자의 10~15%가 우심실의 보조를 필요로하고 완전이식형 인공심장의 장착을 위해서는 자연심장을 제거해야하는 상황에서 이식형 양심실보조장치에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 연구진은 완전이식형 인공심장으로 개발된 한국형 인공심장을 개선하여 양심 실 보조장치를 개발하였다. 양심실보조장치는 이동형 작동기식 미케니즘을 이용하고 있으며 에너지 변환장치와 감속기로 구성된 작동기와 혈액주머니, 그리고 내장형 제어기로 구성되어 있다. 선인장 펌프로 명명된 KAH350은 캐뉼라의 연결을 위한 커넥터를 포함하여 길이 177mm, 폭 164mm, 높이 67 이고 무게 780g이며 최대 심박출량은 5L/min 이다. 양심실보조장치로 개발된 선인장펌프는 좌심실보조장치로도 응용이 가능하다. 이식적합성과 생체적합성을 평가하기 위하여 좌심실보조장치로 5회, 양싱실보조장치로 6회의 동물실험을 수행하였다. 각각 최장 28일간 생존하였으며 11회의 동물실험중 장치의 결함에 의한 것이 3회 있었는데 이들은 모두 전자장치의 결함과 방수처리문제였다. 현재 이식적합성과 일박출량을 향상시킨 KAH400모델이 개발중이다. The types of pulsatile implantable artificial hearts that are on the way of development and have been developed are totally implantable artificial heart and implantable left ventricular assist device (LVAD). Approximately 10% to 15% of all patients Implanted with wearable VADs have required right heart support with another device. And it is reluctant to patient who should remove his or her own heart to be implanted with total artificial heart. These situations drive the development of implantable bi-ventricular assist device (BVAD). The Korean BVAD was develophed by modifying the moving actuator type Korean artificial heart. This electro-mechanical BVAD comprises actuator including energy converter and reduction gear train, blood sacs, and internal motor and energy controllers. The KAH350 which is named as 'Cactus Pump' is 177mm in length, 164mm in width, and 67mm in thickness including connectors and nuts. The weight and maximum cardiac output of Cactus Pump is 780g and 5L/min, respectively. The Cactus Pump that was developed as BVAD could be used as LVAD by attaching compliance caps on the 2 ports of one ventricle. The animal experiments were undergone 5 times for LVAD, and 6 times for BVAD. The best records were 28 days survival in both applications. There were 3 times of device failure and they were all associated with electrical connection and hermetic sealing. The KAH400 that has improved anatomical fitting characterisitcs and stroke volume is on development.

        유치화 계승영구치의 근원심 폭경에 관한 연구

        The mesiodistal crown diameters of the decidious teeth and their permanent successors have been studied and analyzed about the mean size, percentage and the correlotion coefficient from the longitudinally collected 104 stone models of E. elementary school children. The results were as follows: 1. The mean values of deciduous teeth and their permanent successors were slightly larger in males than in females and statistical differences of males and females were found in some teeth. 2. In the percentage of deciduous and permanent successors, the smallest were lateral incisor in male, central incisor in female and maxillary 2nd deciduous molar, mandibular 1st and 2nd deciduous molar were larger than their permanent successors. 3. In the percentage of corresponding teeth groups, maxillary incisors were smaller than their successors and in maxillary buccal teeth were similar to their successors, and in mandibular buccal teeth the sum of deciduous teeth were larger than that of permanent teeth about 10%. 4. Individual correlations of deciduous tooth and their permanent successor was relatively low. The same tendencies were found at corresponding teeth groups. 5. In the differences between the corresponding teeth groups, the sum of permanent incisors were largest to their deciduous teeth but the sum of mandibular buccal teeth were the smallest. 6. The correlations for the differences of corresponding teeth groups were negative correlated with high value.

        This study was on the removal of silver ion containing photographic wastewater by BPBE cell. The experiments were performed at different voltage. electrolytic time and pH. When we inverstigated with silver removal efficiency, current efficiency and power efficiency at pH 4, 7, 9, thoese were indicatec most superior values in pH 9. And for the conditions of pH 9, l000mg-Ag/L, 3V, thoese were 93%. 40.4%, 0.54g-Ag/W .hr respectively.

      • 종양과 구강각질세포주에서 Celecoxib과 Indomethacin의 Cyclooxygenase-2 비의존적 기전에 의한 억제 효과

        Background and Objectives : Overexpression of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), a rate-limiting enyme in the generation of prostanoids from arachidonic acid, has known to be closely related to tumorigenesis, tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Selective or non-selective COX-2 inhibitors have been used for the growth inhibition of cancers with preventative intents ; however, it has been suggested recently that cancer cells have COX-2-independent mechanisms. Materials and Method : Using MTT assat and cell counts, we observed the growth inhibition of SCC VII, CT-26 and B16F10 murine cancer cell lines when treated by celecoxib and indomethacin. SNU-1041 and HOK 16B were used as controls for comparing with the murine cell lines. The COX-2 expression of these cell lines was analyzed by western blotting and compared with the degree of inhibition by the drugs. Results : The growth inhibition of the cell lines by the drugs was clearly demonstrated in a concentration-dependent manner and depended on the type of cell lines and test drug. The in vitro viability assay revealed that CT-26 expressing COX-2 protein was slightly inhibited but SCC Vn and B16F10 without COX-2 expression were moderate-to-highly inhibited by the drug treatment. Celecoxib and indomethacin appeared to have no close relation with the COX-2 expression of cell lines in their growth inhibition, HOK 16B showed a resistance by concentrations less than 25 μM of celecoxib, which implies that celecoxib has a more selective effect on tumor cells and is safer than indomethacin Conclusion : The growth of cancer cells was inhibited by celecoxib and indomethacin treatment, which depends on the type of cancer, treated drug, and its concentration. Their suppressive effect is not closely related to the COX-2 expression of cancer cells. (Korean J Otolaryngol 2004;47:562-8)

        精神分裂病에서의 血小板 Monoamine Oxidase 活性度와 血漿 Estradiol, Progesterone 및 Testosterone의 相關關係에 關한 硏究

        The hypothesis that certain central dopaminergic systems may be overactive in schizophrenia has quite generally accepted by many investigators. Studies of monoamine oxidase (MAO), the major degradating enzyme of biogenic monoamine, have provided a focus for recent biological in schizophrenia. This study was set up to determine the alteration of platelet MAO activity and its sexual differences, the change of plasm sex hormone levels and the correlation between platelet MAO activity and plasma sex hormone levels, in 130 schizophrenics, comparing with 197 normal healthy subjects. Platelet MAO activity was determined fluorometrically by the modified method of Kraml, measuring the deamination of kynuramine to 4-OH quinoline, and was expressed as nanomoles of quinoline produced per milligram of platelet protein per hour. At the same time, plasma estradiol, progesterone and testosterone levels wers determined by radioimmunoassay technique, Following results were obtained. 1. Platelet MAO activity is not different in acute schizophrenics, but is low significantly in chronic schizophrenics (63.7% of normal control group). 2. Platelet MAO activity is lower in male chronic schizophrenics(56.06% of control group) than female(64.69%), and the sex difference is significant. 3. Plasma estradiol level is significantly low in male chronic schizophrenics(71.82%). 4. The correlation coefficient between platelet MAO activity and plasma sex hormone levels reveal negative correlation between platelet MAO activity and plasma testosterone level in female chronic schizophrenics. From the results of the study, it is strongly suggested that the sex difference of platelet MAO activity in chronic schizophrenia is related to the alteration of plasma sex hormone levels.

      • 철근콘크리트 전단벽체와 경계 기둥의 띠철근 보강에 따른 구조성능 평가

        Ten reinforced concrete rigid frames and infill shear wall frames involved bare frames were tested during vertical and cyclic loads simultaneously. Experrimental programs carried to investigate the horizontal strength, crack propagation and ductility etc. All specimens were modeling in one-third scale size. In this experimental program structural performance of reinforced concrete shear wall were focus at the variation of hoop reinforcement. From the above testing, We have the following conclusion. (1) It was not largely varied horizontal stress, in fully rigid frame the specimens(FB-2, 3, A, B, C), when the ratio of hoop bar, in both colums, were varied the horizontal stress and ductility did not varied. (2) The specimens(FB-2, 3) in fully figid frame, as the ratio of hoop bar, both columns, are increased, was caused main bending and shear crack in the capital and the base of column. But the specimens(FB-A, B, C) as the ratio of hoop bar of left columns are not increased, was caused compression failure and concentration of shear crack so that happen sudden collapse in the base of column. (3) In fully rigid babel type shear wall, specimens(FW-B, C) that make increased ration at right column. is larger about 1.5 times than specimens of is not varied specimen(FW-A) in ductility. (4) In fully rigid babel type shear wall specimen as the ratio of hoop bar is varied, the shear stress and the horizontal stress of the specimen that the ratio of hoop bar of boundary column is increased about 1.1∼1.2 times than those of specimens(FW-A, B, C).

      • 혼합입자로 구성된 삼상유동층에서의 기체-액체 물질전달

        In three phase fluidized beds with binary particle mixtures of glass beads, gas-liquid mass transfer characteristics have been studied in a 6.3cm I.D. and 160cm height acryl column. The three phase fluidized beds were consisted of tap water, carbon dioxide mixed with oil-free compressed air and binary mixtures of glass beads, respectively. Then binary mixtures used were five combination of three types of glass beads. Particular attention is paid to the mass transfer characteristics in bubble flow regime. Till now, the study of binary particle mixtures system in three phase fluidized beds have been reported very a few in hydrodynamics, but the study of mass transfer have been not reported. Thus, in this investigation the effects of gas velocity(2.0-10.0cm/sec), liquid velocity(1.26-15.74cm/sec) and particle size(1.3, 3.0, 6.0mm) and weight percent of binary particle mixtures on volumetric mass transfer coefficients along with the various bed height have been determined. Volumetric mass transfer coefficients, K₁a was calculated by using the computer optimization with plus flow model. In result 1. Bed porosity increased with gas and liquid velocity in beds of 3.0mm and 6.0mm single particles respectively. However, bed porosity decreased with lower gas velocity in a bed of 1.3mm single particles so that bed contraction is observed. A bed of 3.0mm single particles showed intermediate phenomena between bed expension and bed contraction. 2. The three phase fluidized beds by binary particle mixtures have been higher minimum fluidized velocity than that by single particles. Then, bed contraction was shown in beds of mixed particle with 1.3mm and 3.0mm. However, when weight fraction of large particles reached to 0.75, a bed of mixed particles was shown similar to a bed of large particles. 3. In three phase fluidized beds by binary particle mixtures bed porosity and liquid holdup were correlated in terms of Froude number of liquid and gas, and Reynolds number of liquid and gas, and Reynolds number of liquid by using harmonic mean diameter. Bed porosity εl +εg = 0.4324Fr₁ 0.0497Fr?? 0.0012Rel 0.0537 Liquid hold-up ε₁=0.1541Fr₁ 0.1917Fr?? -0.0887Re₁ 0.1596 4. In three phase fluidized bed of single particles, liquid phase concentration increased with increasing gas velocity and decreasing liquid velocity. However, in a bed of 3.0mm single particles with intermediate phenomena, liquid phase concentration increased rapidly with gas velocity in grid zone, then decreased slowly and increased again. Therefore, concentration profile of third order curve was shown. 5. In three phase fluidized beds of binary particle mixture, this tendency was similar to a bed of single particles. However, liquid phase of large and small particles had likely transitional values according to weight fraction of mixed particles. 6. Volumetric mass transfer coefficients calculated by plug flow model increased with increasing gas and liquid velocity as well as particle size and weight fraction of large particles. 7. Volumetric mass transfer coefficients, K??a, were correlated in terms of gas and liquid velocity, poarticle size and weight fraction of mixed particles.         The arguments discussed so far can be summarized as follows. First, Paeksu's sijo works have a consistence in poetic enclosure, Most of old sijo works have a closed form of enclosure, which serves as one of the essential devices for making sijo ; while sometimes some of them have an open form of enclosure to give variety to its form. As for Paeksu's sijo, all of them have closed form of enclosure. For 1) he wanted to heighten poctic tension : 2) he intended to resemble old sijo in form : 3) he'd grasped the Poetic enclosure form of sijo as one of the single merits that sijo alone the has, which surpasses other subgenres of poetry Second, Paeksu tried 1) the variety of images, 2)multi-syllable foot(과음수음모) , in order to express a single world of his own. Third, paeksu 1) also adopted chinese words moderately while creating new chinese poetic words : 2) at the same time created new korean poetic words for a better command of poetic language. Though some cases were awkward ones, most eases were successful. Fourth, Paeksu often adopted the couplet form into his sijo works. The couplet form adopted can be sorted into two sorts; 1) if it is A, it is B: 2) if it is A, it is B : if it is C, it is D. Each form sometimes appears within one line or within succeeding two lines. The conclusion drawn from the above is that paeksu can be regarded as one of the influential, important sijo poets who modernized the sijo form.
