GA has a fast convergence speed in searching the one point around optimal value. But it's convergence time increase in searching the region around optimal value because it has no regional searching mechanism. BP has the tendency to converge the local minimum because it has global searching mechanism. To overcome these problems, a method in which a genetic algorithm and a back propagation are applied in turn is proposed in this paper. By using a genetic algorithm, we compute optimal synaptic strength and offset value. And then, these values are fed to the input of the back propagation. This proposed method is superior to each above method in improving the convergence speed.

The expression of in-house DNA topoisomerase I (Topo1) was optimized in order to develop a gel-based DNA relaxation assay for the screening of potential bioactive compounds. Results showed that nearly 4-fold increment in total protein level was achieved in the culture supernatant with 1.0% (v/v) methanol feeding every 24 h and cultivated for 72 h at 28°C. Crude recombinant TopoI was shown to relax the supercoiled plasmid DNA completely in the developed gel-based assay and reactions were not affected by DMSO addition and the features on electrophoresed gel could be improved by chloroform: isoamylalcohol extraction. The recombinant protein was then purified and the enzymatic activity of the recombinant TopoI in the crude and purified culture supernatant was studied and compared with a commercial TopoI. DNA relaxation assay showed that the purified recombinant TopoI is a more reliable source with an activity of approximately 20~30 U/μl. The developed assay was finally evaluated by determining the inhibitory effects of flavonoids and positive control Camptothecin on the recombinant TopoI catalytic activity. The efficiency of the gel-based assay using purified recombinant TopoI was further evaluated against a cell-based cytotoxicity assay in which the inhibitory effects on cell growth by the flavonoids and Camptothecin were assessed. The similar inhibitory trends shown by both assays demonstrated that potential inhibitors can be preliminarily screened using a gel-based assay prior to identification of the inhibitors using a cell-based assay to detect the DNA intercalating agents that interrupt the TopoI catalytic activity.

본 연구는 육계사료에 무기태 또는 유기태 형태의 미네랄 프리믹스 첨가가 생산성 및 분변내 미네랄 배설에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 수행하였다. 총 750수의 1일령 ROSS 308 (Initial BW = 42.32±0.32g)을 공시하여 3처리 5반복으로 반복당 50수씩 완전 임의 배치하여 자유 섭식케 하였으며 28일간 전기(0~14일), 후기(15~28일)로 나누어 실시하였다. 처리구들은 대조구(프리믹스 무첨가), 무기태 미네랄(대조구 +무기태 미네랄 프리믹스 1.0 g/kg), 유기태 미네랄(대조구 + 유기태 미네랄 프리믹스 1.8 g/kg) 총 3처리구 였다. 전기(0~14일) 및 후기(15~28일) 및 전기간(0~28일) 생산성에는 처리구간에 유의적 차이는 나타나지 않았지만, 폐사율은 무기태 및 유기태 미네랄 처리구가 대조구와 비교하여 유의적으로 (p<0.05) 낮았다. 분변 내 철, 구리, 아연, 망간, 마그네슘 함량은 처리구간에 차이가 유의적으로 나타났으며 (p<0.05), 무기태 처리 그룹에서 가장 높은 함량을 보여주었다. 비장과 간에서 철, 구리, 아연, 망간, 마그네슘의 함량은 유기태 처리그룹에서 유의적으로 (p<0.05) 가장 높은 함량을 보여주었다. 결론적으로 유기태 미네랄 프리믹스의 첨가는 육계의 생산성에 영향을 미치지 않으며, 환경오염을 유발하는 분변 내 미네랄 함량을 낮출 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. This study examined the effect of diets supplemented with organic and inorganic mineral premixes on growth performance and mineral excretion. Seven hundred and fifty one-day-old ROSS 308 (initial BW= 42.32±0.32 g) were assigned randomly to one of three dietary treatments, repeated five times: mash-type basal diet supplemented with an inorganic mineral premix (1.0 g/kg) and a basal diet supplemented with an organic mineral premix (1.8 g/kg). In the starter period (0 to 14 days), grower period (15 to 28 days), and overall periods (0 to 28 day), no significant differences were observed between any of the performance parameters measured. On the other hand, the mortality rate was lower (p < 0.05) in the inorganic and organic mineral premix groups than in the basal diet group. The concentrations of iron, copper, zinc, manganese, and magnesium in the fecal were different (p < 0.05) among the treatment groups, with the highest values reported in the inorganic mineral premix group. The concentrations of iron, copper, zinc, manganese, and magnesium in the spleen and liver were different (p < 0.05) among the treatment groups, with the highest values reported in the organic mineral premix group. In conclusion, replacing inorganic mineral premix with organic mineral premix does not adversely affect the productivity of broilers and can reduce the concentration of minerals in feces that cause environmental pollution.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Virus-like particles (VLPs) are multi protein complexes mimicking the structural properties of the native virus. The development of freeze-dried formulations of such complex protein structures remains a challenge. Red-spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus (RGNNV) causes mass mortality in fish culture, and RGNNV VLPs have been suggested to be promising vaccine candidates. In the present study, the stability of RGNNV VLPs in the liquid state was investigated over a 4-week period, along with the influence of freeze-drying on VLP stability. RGNNV VLPs were completely degraded after one week at 37 °C followed by 3 weeks at ambient temperature, and they were partially degraded after 4 weeks at 4 °C. Therefore, the inherent stability of RGNNV VLP in an aqueous milieu is insufficient for long-term storage. When RGNNV VLPs were freeze-dried in the presence or absence of sugar stabilizers, sorbitol was found to improve VLP stability whereas mannitol reduced it. VLP preparations freeze-dried with sorbitol or without stabilizer were as immunogenic as control (non-freeze dried) VLPs, whereas VLPs freeze-dried in mannitol were less immunogenic. These results indicate that freeze-dried RGNNV VLPs have potential as vaccines.</P>

<B>Purpose</B><P>This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of a computerized surveillance system for adverse drug events (ADEs) reinforced with mandatory reporting of all past drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHSRs) and supervision of the processes by allergy specialists in a university hospital.</P><B>Methods</B><P>All information on both prior and newly developed DHSRs was collected via the surveillance system described above and compared with the data from previous system based on voluntary reporting of DHSRs by attending physicians.</P><B>Results</B><P>The report rate of past DHSRs was greatly increased and the estimated incidence of new events decreased under the new system. The occurrence rate of new DHSRs during hospitalization, which were caused by the repeated administration of the agents previously suspected as culprit drugs enormously, decreased from 15% of previous system to 1% of new system.</P><B>Conclusion</B><P>The mandatory reporting system for past DHSRs and the supervision by allergy specialists appear to be important in improving the management of patients with drug hypersensitivity and in preventing the occurrence of DHSRs in a general hospital. In 1999, Geographical Indication(GIs) was introduced by EU. About 10 years have passed since the GIs were adopted, but consumer awareness is still very low, and GIs cannot offer the desired benefits for consumers. My research question is that ‘why is GIs not so successful in Korea’. In our study, we investigated the impact of regional brand association, a PR message’s concreteness, and involvement level on consumers’ purchase intention and WTP. The results of the analysis show that there is no significant impact of regional brand association on consumers’ purchase intention and WTP. However, the PR message’s concreteness has a positive impact on purchase intention and WTP. We also found that the impact of message concreteness has a more powerful influence with low-involvement products.
