The extracted dye from the dried fruit hulls of mangosteen was used as a natural dye for the dyeing of cotton and silk yam. The optimal conditions for dye extraction were to extract the dried fruit hulls of mangosteen at $80^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour with a 15 % w/v citric acid solution in a 1:4 ratio of mangosteen powder to solvent. Cotton dyeing with the extracted dye from the dried fruit hulls of mangosteen was carried out at $60^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes with a material to liquor ratio of 1:25. The effect on dyeing of mordant type with different mordanting methods was studied. The results showed that the dyeing of cotton using the post-mordanting method with ferrous sulfate and calcium hydroxide not only provided better depth of shade but also provided better wash fastness and light fastness than with other mordants (alum; zinc tetrafluoroborate) or without a mordant. Good fastness properties were also obtained using a post-mordanted silk with calcium hydroxide.
Analysis of EMU-Sync: A Time Synchronization Protocol for Underwater Mobile Networks

This paper presents analysis of Enhanced Mobile Underwater Synchronization (EMU-Sync) protocol, which is a derivative Mobile Underwater Synchronization (MU-Sync) protocol for underwater mobile networks. The analysis assume that sensor nodes move only in one direction and have no acceleration. Furthermore, jitter and response time of sensor nodes are also ignored. From the results, it can be observed that the mathematical modelling of the protocol and their simulation results are in good agreement with each other.

Anorectal malformation or imperforate anus is a congenital anomaly of rectum and anus. Mullerian duct anomalies are abnormal development of uterus, cervix, and vagina. Imperforate anus with double uterus is extremely rare and cannot explain by normal embryologic development. Moreover, guideline in treatment is inconclusive. We report an extremely rare case of a young adult female who presented with recurrent pelvic inflammatory disease caused by rectovaginal fistula in congenital imperforate anus and didelphys uterus, and successfully neoanal reconstruction with gracilis muscle flap. Aims for treatment are closed rectovaginal fistula, and anal sphincter reconstruction. To our best knowledge, the imperforate anus with double uterus is extremely rare anomaly. Furthermore, successfully anal sphincter reconstruction with functional gracilis muscle in the imperforate anus with double uterus has never been reported in English literature.

Genetic algorithm (GA) has been shown to be an alternative for achieving suitable subcarriers in subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) on multimode fiber. Because of the relatively-flat frequency response at high frequency range of the multimode fiber, the suitable subcarriers can be determined by applying GA to many divided frequency ranges simultaneously; that is, Parallel GA. In this paper, parallel GA is adopted for searching suitable subcarriers in SCM on multimode fiber. Thirty suitable subcarriers, which are not located at any nulls in the frequency response of multimode fiber, are determined. These subcarriers are then used for transmitting many subcarrier signals through the high frequency bands of multimode fiber resulting in a total data rate of 15 times larger than the data rate obtaining from the 3-㏈ intermodal bandwidth.

Red-spotted tokay geckos, Gekko gecko, are distributed mainly in Southeast Asia. They are a traditional Chinese medicine, with the massive hunting for exports dramatically decreasing their numbers. Information on the genetic diversity of these geckos in Southeast Asia is very limited. This study aims to explore intrapopulation and interpopulation genetic variation and the genetic structure of 16 populations collected from different localities in Thailand, Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Cambodia using multilocus enzyme electrophoresis. Relatively high genetic diversity occurred at both the intrapopulation and interpopulation levels. Genetic differentiation with FST values ranging between 0.006–0.892 was found. Five distinct genetic groups of the red-spotted tokay populations could be classified. A group of populations from northern Thailand showed the highest genetic differentiation from the other groups. Moreover, there was a substantial genetic subdivision depending on the genetic groups with FCT = 0.664 and FSC = 0.185. This genetic structure is related to geographical distribution and distance between populations, R2 = 0.5614, p < 0.001. Our findings of pronounced genetic structuring and the concomitant conservation genetic consequences if further population loss occurs mean that management actions should therefore focus on the conservation of all of the main sites where tokay geckos still occur.

PURPOSE This study evaluated the effect of chemical surface treatment using methyl formate-methyl acetate (MF-MA) solution on the tensile bond strength between acrylic denture teeth and auto-polymerized acrylic resin. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy maxillary central incisor acrylic denture teeth for each of three different brands (Yamahachi New Ace; Major Dent; Cosmo HXL) were embedded with incisal edge downwards in auto-polymerized resin in polyethylene pipes and ground with silicone carbide paper on their ridge lap surfaces. The teeth of each brand were divided into seven groups (n=10): no surface treatment (control group), MF-MA solution at a ratio of 25:75 (v/v) for 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 120 seconds, 180 seconds, and MMA for 180 seconds. Auto-polymerized acrylic resin (Unifast Trad) was applied to the ground surface and polymerized in a pressure cooker. A tensile strength test was performed with a universal testing machine. Statistical analysis of the results was performed using two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and post-hoc Dunnett T3 test (α=.05). RESULTS The surface treatment groups had significantly higher mean tensile bond strengths compared with the control group (P<.05) when compared within the same brand. Among the surface treatment groups of each brand, there were no significantly different tensile bond strengths between the MF-MA groups and the MMA 180 second group (P>.05), except for the Yamahachi New Ace MF-MA 180-second group (P<.05). CONCLUSION 15-second MF-MA solution can be an alternative chemical surface treatment for repairing a denture base and rebonding acrylic denture teeth with auto-polymerized acrylic resin, for both conventional and cross-linked teeth.

The effectiveness of simultaneous calcium glu- conate (0.5% w/v) (Ca-G) and ultrasonication (Ca- G ? US) on physicochemical quality of pink guavas under room temperature (27 ± 1 C) was monitored. The fruits were sonicated for 2, 4, 6 and 8 min and the untreated fruits were defined as control. Peel discoloration and black spot disease were evidently controlled by Ca-G ? US for 4 min. The treatment delayed the loss of acidity and total chlorophylls content and the increase in total carotenoids content. The fruit softening and cell membrane perme- ability and peroxidation were retarded by Ca-G ? US for 4 min. Ca-G ? US for 4 min enhanced ascorbic acid content and maintained total phenols content and antioxi- dant activity. In conclusion, the application of Ca-G ? US for 4 min is feasible approach maintaining physicochemi- cal quality such as peel color, texture and nutritional value of pink guavas during the short-term storage.
