        This study was carried out to investigate of physico-chemical status of drinking ground water near by the Gum-ho river basin, from February, 20 to March, 20, 1986. The ground water for testing was sampled 26 sites which are eleven wells, twelve electric pumps, and three simple piped water. Out of 23 kinds of phsico-chemical factors investigated, hydrogen ion, alkalinity, nitrate nitrogen, sulfate, copper, zinc, hexavalent chromium, arsenic, mercury, and lead were within allowable values for drinking. However, total hardness (sites Ⅴ-1 and Ⅵ-1), turbidity(site Ⅴ-2), ammonia nitrogen(site Ⅲ-2), chlorine(sites Ⅲ-2, Ⅲ-4, Ⅳ-1, Ⅴ-1 and Ⅵ-6) iron (site Ⅳ-2), manganese(sites Ⅱ-1 and Ⅲ-2) cadmium(sites Ⅰ-1 and Ⅲ-2), were higher than allowable value. The shorter straight distance from Gum-ho river side to sampling points, the higher concentration of alkalinity, carbon dioxide and sulfate(p<0.05). The concentration of sulfate, arsenic, and lead were negatively correlated with depth of ground water (p<0.05). In comparision of water supplying style and chemical contents; ammonia nitrogen, sulfate, lead, arsenic and mercury were higher in the well water than in the simple piped water(p<0.05). The pollution of ground water was high negative correlation with the distance of contamination sources such as toilet, cattle shed, rice field, etc.

        Under the influence of pregnancy, the β-cells of islet undergo major long term up-regulatory structural and functional changes in response to the increased demand for insulin. Histo-morphometry studies indicated that during pregnancy, islet mass was increased from 1.4-fold to 3-fold and insulin secretion was also increased. this study was focused the change of β -cells of pancreas in streptozotocin-induced diabetic pregnant rat. And we compare this result with β -cells of pancreas in normal pregnant rat. Sprague-Dawley rat divided four group: normal control, normal pregnancy, diabetes group, and diabetic pregnancy group. The rats of diabetes and diabetic pregnaney group were injected amount of 40 mg/kg of streptozotocin. All rats of four groups were tested oral glucose tolerance test on days 10 after streptozotocin injection and on days 18 of pregnancy. On 18 days of pregnancy, we observed islets of pancreas under the light microscopy with insulin immunohistochemical stain, and under the electron microscopy. Streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat had higher fasting glucose and integrated glucose area under the curve (GAUC), and lower fasting insulin level than normal rat(p〈0.05). But there was no significant difference of integrated areas under the insulin secretion response curve (IAUC). During pregnancy fasting glucose and GAUC were decreased insignificantly, but fasting insulin and IAUC were increased significantly in normal rat. But in diabetic rat, there were no significant difference in fasting insulin, glucose and GAUC during pregnancy except IAUC. Under the light microscopy, the area of β -cells by insulin immunohistochemistry was increased insignificantly in pregnant rat than in non-pregnant rat. The estimate far the increase in β -cells area during pregnancy in diabetic rat was 7.09% compare to 20.22% in normal rat. And the estimate for the increase in the number of islets in diabetic rat was 14.9% compare to 29.4% in normal rat. In conclusion, the area of β -cells and number of islets of pancreas in both normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat during pregnancy were insignificantly increased. But the rate of increase in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat was a half or one thirds to normal. So It was supposed that the structural change of endocrine pancreas during pregnancy was insufficient. In future, the mechanism of increase of endocrine pancreas mass during pregnancy was further studied. So it will indicate the way of treatment in pregnant diabetes and give a remedy of gestation diabetes.

        Yeats in his youth strived to reinstate the idealism of Celtic oral traditions in the national consciousness. "The Wanderings of Oisin" was the result of this effort to idealize literarily the original Celtic spirit he admired in his early poetic career. He treated and transformed Irish myth and legend in a characteristic way and made the long narrative of an ancient Fenian hero Oisin revealed in various work into a starting point of his own literature. "The Wanderings of Oisin" is an epic narrative of the title hero traveling with his fairy wife Niamb through the Otherworld or the Land of the Young: the Island of Living, the Island of Victories and the Island of Forgetfulness. The three islands they experience for three hundred years also represent vain gaiety, vain battle and vain repose. This poem of quest reveals a predominantly antithetical thematic structure: Oisin and Patrick, pagan and Christian, warrior and saint, this world and the next, the past and the present, mortals and Immortals. The poem also dramatizes tensions that were to preoccupy Yeats for the rest of his life: dreams and responsibilities, youth and age, innocence and knowledge, sensuousness and asceticism, the infinitude of desire and its constantly changing objects. Mary subjects and images begun in this poem are repeated throughout his later works. A movement into a kind of paradise or fabulous region, thoughts on age and death and cyclical way of life, imagination transcending time and this world, as well as the use of bird and tree imagery are all seen in the epic. Also, the repeated appearance of spirits in each beginning of the journey every one hundred years is reminding us of the various inner desire of human beings such as everlasting youth and triumph over hardships of life. There phantoms reappear and play similar roles in Yeats's later poems and dramas.

        W. B Yeats established his status as one of the greatest elegists in the English speaking world with group elegies, and among his superb elegies are those he wrote for his own death. The term self-elegy contains contradictions and para-doxes as the elegiac act in thus genre deals lamentation for the very person who is the poetic object as well as the poet Also it gives an impression that the poet himself Is divided into the mourner and the mourned in a specifically versified situation. In Yeats's poetic realm, however, these paradoxical expressions are sublimated through the brilliant versification of the subtle personal subjects He treats his own death and posthumous aspect in several essential peoms, such as "Under Ben Bulben", "The Tower", "The Circus Animals' Desertion" and "Man and the Echo" by means of completing his own tombstone inscription earlier, speaking from or beyond the grave with a subterranean voice, reviewing the way of living in the light of death, writing a will to 'make my soul,' evaluating the fruitful outcome of existence against the closing moment, and searching for the sources of confession and repentance in the past. Thus, it is significant to grasp poet Yeats's varied perspectives and contemplations on the last stage of life symbolized as inescapable death and decrepitude of body, and to look into his unique attitude towards the whole life journey he took in these poems. He accomplished his own mourning over himself in verse by expressing preparatory gestures towards the final destination with exceptional peculiarity. In a sense, he lived the entire life again through the act of creation without temporary limitations and experienced the last in advance before the real time would come. So it can be assumed that he exerted himself to reveal the meaning of living in this world by using the prism of death. In this respect, Yeats is a poet of vision with foresight and prophetic power

        치과용 콘빔CT영상에서 총의치 장착 후 하악과두의 위치변화

        Purpose : The aim of this study was to evaluate the change in the position of the mandibular condyle within articular fossa by a CBCT after wearing complete denture (CD). Materials and Methods : CBCT of 34 temporomandibular joints were taken from 9 male and 8 female patients with CB Mercuray (Hitachi, Japan) before and after wearing a CD for rehabilitation. Position of mandibular condyle within articular fossa at centric occlusion was evaluated with Vimplant2.0(CyberMed, Korea) on the central parasagittal view and curved panoramic coronal view of the condylar head. A statistical evaluation was done with SPSS. Results : The range of anteroposterior positional rate (AP) of condylar head within articular fossa was -16-5 and -10-12 respectively on the right and left sides. Before wearing CD, the AP rate showed discrepancy between right and left sides (p<0.05). After wearing CD, both condyles showed a tendency to decrease in posterior condylar position (right side; p<0.05). The average discrepancy between right and left side in mediolateral positional rate (MD) was 15.5 and 4.5 respectively before and after wearing CD. The improvement was observed in mediolateral relationship of both condylar heads after wearing CD (p<0.01). Before wearing CD, the average horizontal angle of long axis of condylar head was 79.6±2.7˚and 80.1±5.7˚ respectively on the right and left sides. After wearing CD, both condyles were rotated in the same direction in average on axial plane. Conclusion : We observed with CBCT the significant clinical evidence in case of positional change of mandibular condyle after wearing complete denture.

        말하기·듣기 수업에 나타난 대화연속체의 양상과 그 교육적 활용 방안 : '질문-대답-평가'로 이뤄진 대화연속체를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is that we inquire the various aspects of dialogue sequence that the teacher's question is initial utterance in primary school. The Initial utterance is used in listening·teaching. The results is as follows. The typology of dialogue sequence that the teacher's question is initial utterance is elliptic, basic, and expanded dialogue sequence. The elliptic dialogue sequence has questions. But answer or evaluation has not existence apparently. The basic dialogue sequence has teacher's question-student's answer-teacher's evaluation. The expanded dialogue sequence has repeated basic dialogue sequence and the contents and forms are details in question and answer. The key of the elliptic dialogue sequence is composed of the construction of question. Because the answer does not existence apparently. So we uses the question techniques as follows: understanding about question's role and statement, the elaboration of questions, the construction of questions, the reflection of situation, the elaboration of question order. And at the same time, the method of elliptic dialogue sequence are used basic, and expanded dialogue sequence. The key of basic dialogue sequence is affirmative evaluation. Because by affirmative evaluation teacher progress dialogue smoothly. The key of expanded dialogue sequence is the elaboration of question contents and quality. The methods of question elaboration is achieved as follows: formally the use of question that the structure is made of inserted statements, contently the use of question that is dependent upon reason and argument, logically the use of question that is reflected the process of logical thinking. 이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 저학년 말하기·듣기 수업에서 교사의 질문을 개시발화로 하여 이뤄지는 대화연속체의 양상이 어떻게 구현되는지를 분석하고, 이를 수업에 활용하는 방안을 마련하는 것이다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 질문을 개시발화로 하여 이뤄지는 대화연속체는 '생략형 대화연속체, 기본형 대화연속체, 확장형 대화연속체'로 유형화할 수 있다. 생략형은 질문은 있지만 대답이나 평가가 표면적으로 드러나지 않는 대화연속체를 말하고, 기본형은 '교사의 질문-학생의 대답-교사의 평가'로 이뤄진 대화연속체를 말하며, 확장형은 질문자가 기본형 대화연속체를 두 번 이상 반복하면서 질문과 대답 내용을 상세화하는 대화연속체를 말한다. 생략형 대화연속체는 질문을 했을 때 대답을 못하는 경우가 일반적이기 때문에 이 과정에서 질문자가 어떻게 질문을 하느냐가 핵심이다. 이 때 질문은 '질문의 역할과 진술에 대한 이해, 질문 내용의 명료화, 질문의 재구성, 상황의 반영, 질문 순서의 명료화' 등에 초점을 맞춰 이뤄져야 한다. 또한 생략형에서 논의된 질문의 활용 방안은 기본형과 확장형에도 동일하게 적용된다. 기본형 대화연속체도 앞의 생략형 대화연속체에서 언급한 질문의 활용 방안이 바탕이 되지만, 질문자인 교사가 학생의 대답을 평가하여 마무리를 짓고 다른 대화로 나가야 하기 때문에 이 과정에서 교사의 긍정적 평가가 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 교사가 긍정적으로 대화를 마무리해야 그 이후의 대화가 원활하게 진행될 수 있기 때문이다. 확장형 대화연속체도 기본형 대화연속체에서 언급한 질문의 활용 방안이 바탕이 되지만 이 대화 유형에서 더 중요한 것은 질문 내용과 대답의 상세화이다. 질문의 상세화는 '형식의 측면에서 각종 진술이 삽입된 진술삽입구조의 활용, 내용의 측면에서 사실 확인을 바탕으로 한 '이유와 근거'를 말할 수 있게 하는 질문의 활용, 논리의 측면에서 논리적 사고 과정(특히 귀납적 추론과정)이 반영되는 질문의 활용'을 통해서 이뤄질 수 있다.

        Recent efforts on syntax-directed programming systems have shown the incremental parsing technique is basic and essential part of the system. We extended a conventional LR Parsing table to accept nonterminal symbols as well as terminal symbols, and also to accept incomplete sentences as input string. We use a parse tree to store the parse sequence and to retrieve previous parse sequence. With the extended parsing table and incremental parser driver, we can generate an efficient incremental parser automatically.

        Teaching British and American short stories written in English as a liberal arts course is related to two important aspects: promoting linguistic skills as well as literary understanding. Short stories have been used widely as useful linguistic tools for the advanced English readers in college. But the literary, imaginative and cultural aspects of the genre have sometimes been ignored. Yet college instructors ought to encourage students to recognize these aspects and try to teach them every factors of a short story such as plot, style, theme, characters, narration or point of view, atmosphere and autobiographical background. In advanced English courses for college freshmen and freshwomen, short stories are widely used. Because the language is easy and compact, the story isn't complicated but simple and short, and the style is usually ideal prose literature. Short story teaching in the college classrooms should go beyond the level of simple language training to the level of basic literary program aiming at discussing human experiences as well as cultural influences and insights through creative works. Lessons of a short story should combine language and cultural background ideally. So, objectives of teaching a short story are to have students acquire reading skills, understand messages underlying the story, broaden their own imaginative life and attain cultural insights. To accomplish these objectives, every instructor should utilize all the possible educational methods with creative spirit and sincerity.
