        An image retrieval system based on image content is a key issue for building and managing large multimedia detabase, such as trademarks, copyrights, art galleries, museums, picture archiving and communication system. This paper proposes a feature-based image database system where a compound feature vector representing both the color and shape of an image is used. Color information for the feature vector is obtained using the algebraic moment of each pixel of an image based on the property of regional color distribution. Shape information for the feature vector is obtained using the Improved Moment Invariant(IMI) which reduces the quantity of computation and increases retrieval efficiency. In an experiment, we have compared our methods with previous methods using a database consisting of 150 automobile images, and the results of the experiment have shown that our method has a better performance on retrieval effectiveness.

        The main purpose of this study is in the examination of concept of Hu-Chun-Gae-Byuk. The problem of dukkha and diease has alway played an important part in the attitude of Dae Soon and Buddhism. One of the Cardinal and noble truths of Buddhism was that everything was sorrow. And all regrets was of moral origin and the culmination of morality is in theory of Hae-Won. Man is asked to proceed on the course of moral struggles for the removal of diease and sorrow. And so the object of actions and feelings, Charity are the stimulation of moral progress. Conclusionally the concept of Hu-Chun-Gae-Byuk define in terms of its highest ideals and perfection of its moral culture. in Dae Soon thoughts.

        Theisticand atheistic philosophies in India have often been mixed up with theological discussions which throw some light on the existence and nature of God. The idea of God is almost universal and instinctive also in India. India have a variety of pictures of God. This variety is easily intelligible when we realise that each religious genius spells out the mystery of God. In Rg-Veda these descriptions of God often conflict with one another But these descriptions depends on the concept of lower self and the concept of the Supreme Self in B.G. which may be outlined as below. 1) The lower self and the Supreme Self are both eternal. 2) The Supreme Self is an Infinite Unit. 3) The Supreme Self in the universe is omnipresent 4) Within a limited range, the lower self is allowed to function. 5) The Supreme Self is perfect in all respects. In this structure, Conclusion is that The formula 『Sat』alone could not have distingushed 'Him' from the two other entities that 『Cit』. Sat-Cit would confuse him with the souls, as they both 'are and know' Sat-Cit-anand brings out both his similarities with and points of difference from souls and matter.

        The main purpose of this study is in the examination of the Karma theory. The theory of Karma has played a very important role in philosophical, religious discourses and in the lives of Hindu, for over 4000 years. Karma is an extension of the vedic conception of rta and istapurta (ChⅡ). Rta in the thought of the Rg-Veda is the principle of Cosmic order which controls, unifies all phenomena. The origin of Karma is also traced to the ritualistic tradion of the Vedic Indians to ista purta. Dosa is the Rg-Veda (ChⅡ-2) is understood as the violation of the moral law and as ritualistic pollution. Karma is the apprehension and expression of the moral order of the universe and dosa is an expression of man's need for purity and the supreme good. The Jain theory of Karma (Chⅲ) is the most comprehensive of all in providing us with details of Karmic processes of its operation. Like Buddhism, Jainism also does not believe in the existence of a monotheistic God. What distinguishes Jaina conception of Karma from ancient India is its conception of Karma from ancient India is its conception of Karma as material As I descrived in outline above, Karma is in the center of all the conception in the Jaina, and Buddhism.

        In this paper, the dynamic stability of a cantilevered beam partially attached to elastic foundations and subjected to a follower force is studied. The beam has a concentrated mass at an arbitrary position on it. Governing equations are derived by extended Hamilton's principle and the finite element formulations are applied to obtain discretized equations. The influence of some parameters, such as the elastic foundation parameter, the position of partial elastic foundations, mass ratios and rotary inertia of the concentrated mass on the critical flutter load is investigated. Finally, the optimal attachment ratio of partial elastic foundation which maximizes the critical flutter load is found.

        토사자류의 抗酸化作用에 對한 硏究

        Cuscutae Semen extracts( Cuscuta japonica Choisy and Cuscuta australis R. Brown) were biologically evaluated in vitro and in vivo for the effects on anti-lipid peroxidation, the activities of free radical scavenging enzymes, and the content of carbonyl compound in rat liver tissues, In general, both Cuscutae Semen extracts decreased the lipid peroxides and carbonyl content in a dose-dependent manner and increased the enzyme activities dose-dependently, however, the effects of Cuscuta australis R.Brown is stronger than those of Cuscuta japonica Choisy. The obtained results are summarised as follows: 1. Cuscutae Semen extracts were decreased significantly the lipid peroxides in a dosedependent manner. The anti-lipid peroxidative effect of Cuscuta australis was stronger than that of Cuscuta japonica. Among the various extracts, methanol fraction is most effective and butanol fraction showed a weakest effect. 2. The radical scavenging effect of Cuscuta australis was stronger than that of Cuscuta japonica. The methanol fraction was most active, however, hexane and chloroform fractions exhibited practically no effect. 3. The inhibitory effect of Cuscuta australis on catalase activity was stronger than that of Cuscuta australis. 4. The inhibitory effect of Cuscuta australis on superoxide dismutase activity was somewhat stronger than that of Cuscuta japonica 5. The inhibitory effect of Cuscuta australis on the activities of GSH peroxidase, GSH S-transferase, and GSH-reductase were highter than those of Cuscuta japonica. 6. The extract of Cuscuta australis reduced the carbonyl content more stronger than that of Cuscuta japonica. In conclusion, two kinds of Cuscutae Semen exhibited significant antioxidative effects, among them, the effect of Cuscuta australis was stronger than that of Cuscuta japonica.

        [논문] '팩션(faction)'으로서 역사 : 『다빈치 코드』 읽기

        The purpose of this article is to show The Da Vinci Code is a post-modern historiography based on the post-modern historical theory which denies the dichotomy of fact and fiction. Dan Brown argues that the Christianity of today is not the religion of Jesus, but that of winners. These winners include, first, men like Pietro and second, powerful persons like Constantine I. Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code tries to tells a rather herstory of Christianity than its history by decoding that the person suppressed by the two groups is Maria Magdalene. Such a herstory is a ‘faction’, which is a combination of fact and fiction. There is an old saying that “winners wrote a history, and losers wrote a novel.” If it is true, ‘faction’ that destroys the barrier between fact and fiction can tell the truth. Just as Hyden White argues in Metahistory, the plot putting individual facts together a story is made by historian’s imagination. Because historians invent the plot as much as discover it on the way of reading historical sources, every historiography is ultimately a ‘faction’ to combine fact and fiction.
