        BoKyung Lee(이보경),Seong Min Jeon(전성민) 한국경영학회 2017 한국경영학회 통합학술발표논문집 Vol.2017 No.08

The digital multi-sided platform has led the growth of industries. Accelerating this growth, generativity allowed innovation based on boundary-less modularity. Online games are a rich source of research but most of the research is dedicated in examining only the online game itself. However, there is a growing need to understand online games in an ecosystem level for a new phase of evolution is starting based on generativity. With generativity, online game users now make new graphics and quest that can be added and shared to the already existing game environment. The ecosystem is moving towards finding an amicable multi-sided distribution platform for these user generated game contents. Preliminary data suggest the possibility of actual connection between generativity and users’ game engagement. Interviews and surveys will be prepared to find out the details of the possible relationship and how the ecosystem will shape accordingly.

      • Quantitative Traits Loci (QTL) Mapping of Pleurotus eryngii

        Bokyung Park,Chank Han Im,Byeong Seok Ha,Eun-heui Han,Jae-San Ryu 한국버섯학회 2017 버섯 Vol.21 No.1

Pleurotus eryngii, an edible white-rot fungus, is cultivated widespread in Eurasia, northern Africa and China. It occupies the second position in the world mushroom market. Despites the importance, the small numbers of studies have been done. To promote the availability of P. eryngii, it is important to know the genome and organization of the fungus. In this study, the whole genome sequence of P5 monokaryon from P. eryngii KNR2312 strain was sequenced using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) strategy. Identified 222 SSR markers based on newly known genome information and various type of markers used to construct the map consisted of 12 linkage groups (LGs) spanning 1047.8 cM. Using composite interval mapping, 71 quantitative trait loci (QTL)s were identified on 12 linkage groups (LG) for nine traits such as yield, quality, cap color and earliness in four different populations. Clusters of more than five QTLs for various traits were identified on three genomic regions on LG 1, 7, and 9. The largest cluster was identified on LG 1 in the range from 65.4 to 110.4 cM. We performed the genes prediction analysis responsible for yield in the LG1 genomic region with highest logarithm of the odd (LOD) scores The identified genes were involved in biomass degradation and synthesis and signal transduction. However, the region was wide to identifie the genes crucial role in important trait, we need to narrow down. To improve the resolution of QTL mapping, we enlarge the populations crossing with additional 205 monokaryons. Find mapping of QTLs will increases the accuracy and efficiency of interpret the genomic region and enhance the usefulness of genomic information. • Microsatellites in the genome of the edible mushrooms, Pleurotus ostreatus cultivars, 'Heuktari' and 'Miso'

        Bokyung Park,Byeong Seok Ha,Eun-heui Han,Jae-San Ryu 한국버섯학회 2017 버섯 Vol.21 No.1

Molecular markers were crucial role in understanding and using genomic information for marker-assisted breeding, mapping genes of interest and cloning genes. Among the molecular markers, Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) has became increasingly important marker due to their co-dominant and high polymorphic nature and abundant distribution throughout the genome. Simple sequence repeats (SSR), also called “microsatellites” consist of tandemly repeated short DNA sequence motifs and have applied in various marker-based studies. SSRs were isolated and characterized from “Heuktari” and “Miso”, which are one of the major oyster mushroom cultivars in Korea by the genome sequencing and bioinformatic analysis. The genome sizes of “Heuktari” were 40.8 Mb and “Miso” were estimated to be 40.3 Mb, which were larger than the other P.ostreatus species (PC9 and PC10) and less than P.eryngii (KNR2312 P5). A total of 949 and 968 SSRs were found in the “Heuktari” and “Miso” genomes, respectively. A comparative analysis of five mushrooms including P.ostreatus var. florida (PC9 and PC15), P.eryngii, revealed that SSR numbers from “Heuktari” and “Miso” were the highest among them. Studied all mushrooms showed similar pattern of SSR distributions. Tri-, hexa- and octanucleotide motifs accounted for the top three fractions of all SSRs. This study are useful in understanding the P.ostreatus.[Supported by a grant from the IPET (213007-05-1-SBI30), MIFAFF, Republic of Korea.]

Teaching Culture in the Foreign Language Classroom

        Bokyung Murray 한국문화교육학회 2016 문화예술교육연구 Vol.11 No.3

The purpose of this paper was to explore the topic of teaching culture in a Korean university English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom, and determine its impact in enhancing students' language skills. A self-report questionnaire was administered to two groups of EFL students to assess the effect on their language skill and any change in awareness of their own or English culture. Various pedagogical techniques for teaching culture are presented such as role play, culture capsules, games, drama, and use of authentic materials. The researcher provides some observations on teaching two classes of Korean EFL university students, concentrating on the skill of reading. One class used a textbook, and the other class of more proficient students were assigned to read English literature, including Hemingway short stories. During a survey, both of these classes expressed generally positive responses about learning culture. The study concluded with some implications for the classroom.

The Effect of Teacher Feedback on Student Motivation in an EFL Writing Class

        Bokyung Murray 한국영어교과교육학회 2015 영어교과교육 Vol.14 No.1

Research studies on written corrective feedback have mostly focused on teacher input to students on their writing. However, this study concentrates on the effect of teacher feedback on student motivation and how it may affect their efforts to improve on future writing. Participants of this study consisted of 16 EFL students engaged in an English writing course in a Korean university. These participants were administered two self-report questionnaires to determine their affective responses to teacher written feedback on their writing. Results indicated that these students considered marking of all errors, especially errors in grammar, were very important to them to improve on new writing efforts. Teacher written feedback on organizational errors and vocabulary were also somewhat important to them. Feedback on content or ideas, punctuation and spelling were of lesser or no value to them. Findings also indicated that if these student preferences for feedback were utilized by the teacher, it seemed to have a positive motivational impact on these students to improve their writing skills. These results were triangulated with student interviews and teacher observations. The study concluded with a discussion of pedagogical implications, limitations and possible areas for additional research.

Unusual Presentation of Large B Cell Lymphoma- Bone and Stomach- Treated with Autologous Transplantation

        Bokyung Kim,Sung Yong Oh,Suee Lee,권혁찬,Sung-Hyun Kim,Sook Hee Hong,Sung-Soo Kim,김효진 대한암학회 2007 Cancer Research and Treatment Vol.39 No.4

Extranodal presentation of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBL) is frequently observed in the gastrointestinal tract, CNS, bone, testes and liver. However, the simultaneous detection of multiple extranodal involvement at presentation is quite an uncommon occurrence. In this study, we report on a patient with an uncommon presentation of DLBL, and he had symptoms of left knee joint pain and hematemesis, characterized by bone and stomach involvement. Computed tomography and fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography (FDG-PET) scanning revealed a rapid, extensive spread to the bones and soft tissues. Subsequent histopathological examination verified the bony and gastric CD20-positive DLBL localization. We diagnosed this case as DLBL of stage IV with an international prognostic index of 3, and classified him into the high intermediate risk group. This patient was treated via chemotherapy with an R-CHOP regimen. After achieving a partial response, the patient received autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. The patient attained partial remission, as shown on the FDG-PET scan, and he displayed improvement of his left femur pain. (Cancer Res Treat. 2007;39:181-184)
