      • Glutathione-S-Transferase T1 Polymorphism is Associated with Esophageal Cancer Risk in Chinese Han Population

Weng, Yuan,Fei, Bojian,He, Ping,Cai, Ming Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2012 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.13 No.9

Background: Glutathione-S-Transferase T1 (GSTT1) gene has been shown to be involved in the development of esophageal cancer. However, the results have been inconsistent. In this study, the authors performed a meta-analysis to clarify the association between GSTT1 polymorphism and esophageal cancer risk among Chinese Han population. Methods: Published literature from PubMed, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Wanfang Data were searched. Pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) was calculated using a fixed- or random-effects model. Results: Eleven studies with a total of 2779 individuals were included in the meta-analysis. The results showed that GSTT1 null genotype was significantly associated with esophageal cancer risk in Chinese (OR = 1.31, 95%CI 1.12 to 1.53, p = 0.001). Further sensitivity analyses confirmed the significant association. The cumulative meta-analysis showed a trend of an obvious association between GSTT1 null genotype and esophageal cancer risk as information accumulated by year. Conclusions: This meta-analysis suggests a significant association of GSTT1 null genotype with esophageal cancer risk in the Chinese Han population.

The Alpha-2A Adrenergic Receptor Gene -1291C/G Single Nucleotide Polymorphism is Associated with the Efficacy of Methylphenidate in Treating Taiwanese Children and Adolescents with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

        HuiChing Huang,Lawrence ShihHsin Wu,ShunChieh Yu,BoJian Wu,Ahai Chang Lua,ShinMin Lee,ChaoZong Liu 대한신경정신의학회 2018 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.15 No.3

Objective-The therapeutic effect of methylphenidate (MPH) in treating attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been related to the alpha-2A adrenergic receptor (ADRA2A) gene -1291C/G single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). We investigated the effect of MPH in treating Taiwanese children and adolescent with ADHD and its relation to the ADRA2A gene -1291C/G SNP. Methods-The subjects with DSM-IV ADHD diagnosis underwent a titration period to find out the dose of MPH for maintenance treatment. After 4 weeks maintenance treatment, the effect of MPH was evaluated by the Swanson, Nolan and Pelham version IV total scores. The subjects with more than 25% score reduction were referred to responders and those with ≥50% improvement were considered as better responders. The -1291C/G variant of the ADRA2A gene was identified by DNA sequencing and what relevance it has to the MPH response was examined by binary logistic regression analysis. Results-Of the 59 subjects, 44 (74.6%) were responsive to MPH treatment and the responsiveness was not shown to be associated with the ADRA2A gene -1291C/G SNP. As the responsive subjects were categorized as moderate responders and better responders and subjected to statistical analysis, the GG homozygotes showed a greater chance to have a better response to MPH treatment than CC homozygotes (p=0.02), with an odds ratio of 32.14 (95% CI=1.64–627.80). Conclusion-The ADRA2A gene -1291C/G SNP is associated with the efficacy of MPH for the treatment of ADHD in Taiwanese children and adolescents. The responsive subjects bearing homozygous -1291G allele are more likely to have a better response to MPH treatment.

Research on Action Strategies and Simulations of DRL and MCTS-based Intelligent Round Game

        Yuxiang Sun,Bo Yuan,Yongliang Zhang,Wanwen Zheng,Qingfeng Xia,Bojian Tang,Xianzhong Zhou 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.9

The reinforcement learning problem of complex action control in multiplayer online battlefield games has brought considerable interest in the deep learning field. This problem involves more complex states and action spaces than traditional confrontation games, making it difficult to search for any strategy with human-level performance. This paper presents a deep reinforcement learning model to solve this problem from the perspective of game simulations and algorithm implementation. A reverse reinforcement-learning model based on high-level player training data is established to support downstream algorithms. With less training data, the proposed model is converged quicker, and more consistent with the action strategies of high-level players’ decision-making. Then an intelligent deduction algorithm based on DDQN is developed to achieve a better generalization ability under the guidance of a given reward function. At the game simulation level, this paper constructs Monte Carlo Tree SearchIntelligent Decision Model for turn-based antagonistic deduction games to generate next-step actions. Furthermore, a prototype game simulator that combines offline with online functions is implemented to verify the performance of proposed model and algorithm. The experiments show that our proposed approach not only has a better reference value to the antagonistic environment using incomplete information, but also accurate and effective in predicting the return value. Moreover, our work provides a theoretical validation platform and testbed for related research on game AI for deductive games.

Mechanism of Ce promoting SO2 resistance of MnOx/γ-Al2O3: An experimental and DFT study

        Xiaopeng Zhang,Zhuofeng Li,Jijun Zhao,Yuezong Cui,Bojian Tan,Jinxin Wang,Chengxiang Zhang,Gaohong He 한국화학공학회 2017 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.34 No.7

Various physico-chemical techniques and theoretical chemistry computations are used to obtain a deep insight into the mechanism of Ce improving SO2 resistance of the catalyst Mn0.4Cex/Al2O3 (x stands for the molar ratio of Ce : Al). Theoretical computation with density functional theory (DFT) shows that Ce modification enhances the adsorption energy of SO2 adsorbed on Ce surrounding, resulting in the preferential adsorption of SO2 on Ce surrounding. It protects the surface Mn from SO2 poisoning, leading to a better SO2 resistance. FT-IR and TG results are in good accordance with DFT results. FT-IR results suggest that absorption peaks related to SO4 2− cannot be detected in Mn0.4Ce0.12/Al2O3. Moreover, TG results show that weight loss peaks due to sulfated MnOx decomposition disappears after Ce addition. Therefore, Ce modification inhibits sulfates formation on active components lead to a better resistance to SO2 of Mn0.4Ce0.12/Al2O3.
