<P>A new approach towards the recycling of waste ground rubber tire (WGRT) powder was demonstrated in this study by introducing the polypropylene/ waste ground rubber tire (PP/WGRT) foaming method by using CO<SUB>2</SUB> as the foaming agent in an extrusion foaming process. The regression models were constructed to study the relationships between the foam structure (i.e., void fraction, average cell size, and cell density) of foamed PP/WGRT blends, the processing parameters (extruder’s die temperature and CO<SUB>2</SUB> concentration), and WGRT content by applying a three-factor central composite design (CCD) statistical approach. The response surface plots generated using the regression models allow the rapid selection of the proper process parameters to obtain microcellular PP/WGRT blends with the desired density and morphology.</P>

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>With the increased adoption of thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) in automotive weather seal systems, the foams of TPVs present an important milestone in providing key applications such as trunk and door seals. In this study, microcellular foams of TPV based on waste ground rubber tire powder (WGRT) were investigated. In order to investigate the relationship between processing conditions and structure of TPV foams, we first prepared the thermoplastic vulcanizates of PP-g-MA/WGRT, then the samples were saturated with carbon dioxide and the saturated specimens were expanded during the pressure-quench process. The results indicated that the microcellular structure was dependent on the processing conditions. Cell size increased with saturation temperature, whereas cell density and relative density decreased. Different nucleation processes were produced with saturation pressure.</P>
Networking issues in medical implant communications

IEEE 802.15 working group established a new task group, body area network (TG-BAN), to develop short range wireless technology in and around human body recently. This paper investigates networking issues in implant communications at 2.4 GHz frequency band. The object is better understanding of medical implant networks and how and where to start TG-BAN work. We applied IEEE 802.15.4b and 802.15.4a-chirp spread spectrum (CSS) for implant communications. We derived a path loss model in the layered body and found two unique issues: clear channel assessment (CCA) of implant devices, interference from neighbor piconet in adjacent channel, and multihop long distance communication. All of them can be attributed to the rapid attenuation of electromagnetic wave through lossy tissue, which is about 30 dB more than the free space propagation. The carrier sense multiple access mechanism and transmit mask of 802.15.4b cannot be directly adopted. The modulation of 802.15.4a-CSS is robust to the interference from adjacent channel. A time division based MAC protocol should be considered by TG-BAN. Instead of routing among implant devices, a simple two-hop protocol which uses a body surface forwarder was presented and verified for long distance implant communications.
항만물류 서비스 품질이 고객 만족 및 충성도에 미치는 영향에 관한 실증연구

본 연구는 중국 춘탄항의 항만물류 서비스 품질이 고객 만족 및 충성도에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 실증분석을 수행하였다. 춘탄항을 이용하는 중국의 선사, 포워더, 화주 등을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 항만물류 서비스 품질 수준에 유의한 영향을 미치는 요인들의 영향력을 통계적으로 검증한 결과 기술적 품질, 물리적 환경, 기능적 품질 순으로 나타났다. 연구의 결과, 항만물류 서비스 품질이 고객 만족도와 충성도에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 기술적 품질이 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요소로 나타난 것을 고려할 때 물류서비스 품질 관리의 중요성과 전략 수립의 필요성을 시사하고 있다. 항만 경쟁력 확보의 초점이 하드웨어나 용 우위로 대표되는 양적인 측면에서 물류 서비스의 질적인 측면의 중요성이 강조되고 있다는 점에서 춘탄항의 항만 관련 주체들에게 서비스 품질 향상과 관리를 위한 유의미한 시사점을 제공할 것이다. Purpose : This empirical study aims to investigate the effect of port logistics service quality on customers satisfaction and loyalty with Chongqing Lianglu Cuntan Bonded Port Area(Cuntan port). This study suggests the major point of current issue about kinds of strategy which Cuntan port should establish in providing the port logistics service quality for occupying higher position. Research design, data, methodology : To verify the hypothesis, a survey was conducted on the 211 China Shipping companies, freight forwarders, shippers and the collected questionnaires were analyzed via the SPSS 22.0. Results and Conclusions : This study identified the relationships between Cuntan Port logistics service quality, customer satisfaction and loyalty. Also switching cost was related as moderating effect in customer satisfaction and customer loyalty relationships. The results of this study can be used to suggest how to enhance the port logistics service quality in order to manage competitive strategy of the Cuntan Port.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>In this article, the possibility of obtaining the recycled material based on waste polypropylene (WPP) and waste ground rubber tire powder (WGRT) has been studied. It has been proved that partially replacing WPP with PP-g-MA increased the elongation at break of WPP/WGRT blends, whereas decreased the thermal stability. The presence of compatibilizer increased the elongation at break and thermal stability of WPP/WGRT blends, whereas decreased the processing flowability, as revealed by using universal testing machine (UTM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and capillary rheometer. Moreover, the tendency of the change became more obvious with the content of PP-g-MA and compatibilizer or with the combination of PP-g-MA and compatibilizer. In addition, the improvement of the nonpolar compatibilizer (SEBS) in properties of WPP/WGRT blends was better than that of the polar compatibilizer (SEBS-g-MA).</P>

<P>PLA biodegradable composites reinforced with various silk fibroin powder contents (0, 1, 3, 5 and 7 wt.-%) were prepared by solution processing technique using CH<SUB>2</SUB>Cl<SUB>2</SUB> as solvent. After that the composites and virgin PLA were foamed by using supercritical CO<SUB>2</SUB>. The influence of silk contents on PLA/silk fibroin powder composite foams were investigated by using SEM, XRD and DSC. Compared with PLA foam, the composite foams exhibited a reduction in cell size and increase in cell density at high silk content. With an increase in saturation temperature and pressure, the cell size was increasing and both the cell density and foam density were decreased simultaneously.</P><P> <img src='wiley_img/14387492-2009-294-9-MAME200900103-gra001.gif' alt='wiley_img/14387492-2009-294-9-MAME200900103-gra001'> </P> <B>Graphic Abstract</B> <P>Supercritical CO<SUB>2</SUB> was used to foam biodegradable PLA composites reinforced with silk fibroin in CH<SUB>2</SUB>Cl<SUB>2</SUB> solution. Development of High Spectral Resolution Lidar System for Measuring Aerosol and Cloud

A high spectral resolution lidar (HSRL) system based on injection-seeded Nd:YAG laser and iodineabsorption filter has been developed for the quantitative measurement of aerosol and cloud. The laserfrequency is stabilized at 80 MHz by a frequency locking system and the absorption line of iodine cellis selected at the 1111 line with 2 GHz width. The observations show that the HSRL can provide verticalprofiles of particle extinction coefficient, backscattering coefficient and lidar ratio for cloud and aerosolup to 12 km altitude, simultaneously. For the measured cases, the lidar ratios are 10~20 sr for cloud,28~37 sr for dust, and 58~70 sr for urban pollution aerosol. It reveals the potential of HSRL to distinguishthe type of aerosol and cloud. Time series measurements are given and demonstrate that the HSRL hasability to continuously observe the aerosol and cloud for day and night
