        염장고등어의 히스타민 변화 조사-보관용기 중심으로-

        In order to find a way to reduce histamine formation when storing salted mackerel at home, a series of experiments were carried to monitor the time-related changes of histamine content, total aerobic bacteria and coliform quality of mackerel marketed in Incheon by the type of storage containers (clean, zipper and vacuum bag) during storage at 4°C, 24°C and -20°C for 10 days. Histamine formation was continuously increased with passing time during storage at 4°C, whereas it was decreased after 3 days during storage at 24°C. The initial value of histamine was maintained during storage at -20°C for 10 days. During storage at 4°C, total aerobic bacteria and coliform showed a tendency to increased rapidly till 3day and then decreased gradually. The formation of histamine was increased in the order of vacuum bag<zipper bag<clean bag during storage at 4°C.

        This experiment was tried for the measurement of the acceleration of gravity "g" with air track. Therefore, it was required to take a photograph of the slider motion on the air track in order to measure the acceleration with the poloride camera used stroboscope in dark room. After that, The data of the mean value of the accelertaion was measured by the film analysis. The experimental result is showed as the following; experiment 1 A measuremental value of "g" in the case of inclined plane of air track is; g=9.93m/sec^2 experiment 2 A measuremental value of "g" in the case of horizontal plane of air track by method of freely falling bodies used the weight is; g=9.75m/sec^2

      • GSTT1 null and MPO -463G>A Polymorphisms and Carboplatin Toxicity in an Indian Population

        Carboplatin, a second generation platinum drug, is widely used to treat different types of cancers. However, myelosuppression remains a major consideration in its use. Genetic polymorphisms of enzymes involved in drug disposition can influence therapeutic outcome. The homozygous null deletion of phase II metabolic gene GSTT1 that abolishes its xenobiotic- detoxifying ability may be associated with carboplatin toxicity. Further, since carboplatin generates oxidative stress, polymorphisms of oxidative stress genes that regulate the cellular level of free radicals may have important roles in generating drug- related adverse effects. We here investigated the null polymorphism of GSTT1, and the -463G>A promoter polymorphism of oxidative stress gene myeloperoxidase (MPO) for carboplatin toxicity in a population of northern India. Cancer patients who were treated with carboplatin, and developed toxicity was considered. The study group comprised of 10 patients who developed therapy- related adverse effects. Peripheral blood was taken from patients for DNA isolation. GSTT1 null genotype was determined by conducting duplex PCR and MPO-463 G>A was determined by PCR followed by RFLP. Hematologic toxicity was experienced by 5 patients, 2 of them had grade 3 and 4 toxicity and 3 others had grade 2 toxicity. They also had gastrointestinal (GI) toxicity. Remaining 5 individuals developed GI toxicity but no hematological toxicity. While GG homozygous of MPO was present in majority of patients having hematologic toxicity (in 4 out of 5 individuals), one A allele (AG genotype) was present in 4 patients who did not have any hematological toxicity. Thus variant A allele of MPO -463G>A may be related to lower hematological toxicity. These preliminary data, however, are required to be confirmed in larger studies along with other relevant polymorphisms.

        어초의 형태와 어군의 위집에 관한 연구

        西歸浦 沿岸에 人工魚礁를 設置하여 魚礁의 形態와 魚群의 蝟集에 關한 硏究에서 아래와 같은 結果를 얻었다. 1. 魚礁設置 海域의 15m 水深層에 대한 吹送流는 最高流速이 15.28㎝/sec였고 流向은 WSW가 20.5%였다. 2. 흐름과 波에 의한 圓形垂下型魚礁의 流體抵抗은 約 890㎏이 最大였고, 魚礁에 附着된 멍의 重量은 1,200㎏로서 固定力이 充分하였다. 3. 파라슈트魚礁에 대한 最大抵抗은 106.3㎏로서 멍의 固定力은 充分했으나 비닐캔버스와 展開用 資材가 弱하여 維持되지 못하였다. 4. 濟州島 近海産 重要魚類 53種中 人工魚礁에 蝟集한 魚種은 16種이었고 漁獲組成比는 참돔 23%, 볼락 13%, 보리멸 11%, 우럭볼락 7%, 쥐치 6%이고 潛水 觀察에서 魚礁의 中層部에 많은 稚魚가 蝟集된 것을 確認하였다. This study intended to investigate the shape of the artificial fish reefs settled in the waters of Seogwipo, and the thronging of fish schools into them. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Two types of artifical fish reef, circularized vertical type which is composed of Cryptomeria branches and parachute type, were put off the coast of Seogwipo at 33˚14'05" N Lat.,126˚34'40" E Long. The setting place is located 0. 4 sea-mile away from natural fish reefs, at 25 m in depth. And its sediment is consisted of f. S. and Sh. 2. Maximum velocity of wind drift current was 15.28 ㎝/sec at 15 m depth. The current direction was 20.5% in the WSW. 3. Maximum fluid resistance of the circularized vertical type to current and wind waves showed about 890 ㎏, and the weight of sand bags attached to the fish reef totaling 1,200 ㎏ was enough to sustain fish reef. 4. As maximum fluid resistance of the parachute type to current and wind waves was 106.3 ㎏, the retaining force of sand bags was enough to sustain the fish reef, but vinyl canvas and expansion materials were so poor that the fish reef was lost by the sea current and wind waves. 5. Sixteen species of fish among 53 usually caught in this area were thronged into the artificial fish reef. The fish catches comprized porgy (Pagrosomus major) 23%, black kock fish (Sebastes (Mebarus) inermis) 13%, sand borer (Sillago sihama) 11%, Sebastes (Pteropodus) hubbsi 7%, and file fish (Monacanthus cirrhifer) 6%. According to the submarine observations by divers, it was confirmed that a lot of fish larvae thronged in the middle part of the fish reefs.

      • Initiation and propagation of microcracks in Cu thin films on flexible substrates through the thickness direction during a cyclic bending test

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The initiation and propagation of microcracks in the copper thin film on flexible polyimide substrates was examined through the thickness direction following cyclic bending test using a focused ion beam (FIB) and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) technique. The EBSD observations of the cross-sectional plane clearly indicated that intergranular fracture was predominant during the initiation and propagation of microcracks. During the cyclic bending testing, through the thickness direction microcracks were propagated mostly along the high-angle grain boundaries (HAGBs) that separated the neighboring grains with a high Schmid factor (SF), instead of at the twin boundaries (TBs).</P>

      • Gas sensing with heterostructures based on two-dimensional nanostructured materials: a review

        <P>Gas sensors are being used in diverse applications in security, food safety, environmental monitoring, indoor air quality monitoring, personal healthcare, <I>etc.</I> During the past decade, two-dimensional (2D) nanostructured materials have attracted intense attention because of their unique chemical and physical properties. They have demonstrated promising potential for gas sensing devices because of their large surface-to-volume ratio, high surface sensitivity, and excellent semiconducting properties. Combining 2D nanostructured materials with other dimensional materials also holds great promise for developing high-performance gas sensors. This review presents a comprehensive summary of recent progress in gas sensors with advanced heterostructures based on 2D nanostructured materials. Furthermore, the fundamental sensing mechanisms of different types of gas sensors are systematically discussed, and key device architectures and their performances are summarized. Finally, the challenges and prospects for the future development of each type of gas sensor are addressed to promote better sensing-device architectures.</P>

      • Design of Optimized Ultrasound Clinical Work-Flow; Usability Perspective

        Purpose Usability is an important factor in our life. This paper presents an approach to design the clinical work-flow for ultrasound system. And, we tried to apply this work-flow in diagnosis ultrasound system. Materials and Methods For user learnability, we follow international standard IEC 60601-1-1 and IEC 62366 which describes usability of medical instrument. User requirement are applied by 10 clinicians who are well aware of usability. We considered user environment and designed clinical work-flow into two types: general use and emergency use. The designed clinical work-flow was evaluated by 10 clinicians and results derived from the evaluation were analyzed. Results We could successfully design optimized clinical workflow of ultrasound system. Conclusion This paper suggests usability testing for optimized ultrasound clinical workflow. Using this clinical work flow, users can enhance their clinical performance and reduce operation time.

      • GSTT1 Null Genotype Distribution in the Kumaun Region of Northern India

        Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) constitute a multigene family of multifunctional phase II metabolic enzymes. GSTT1, an important member of this group has a wide range of substrates including carcinogens. Total homozygous deletion or null genotype resulting in total lack of enzyme activity exists in populations for this enzyme. Since the null genotype may contribute to lower detoxification of carcinogens, this genotype is expected to increase cancer risk. The frequency of the GSTT1 null genotype is known to vary significantly among populations. However, little is known about its distribution in the hilly Kumaun region of northern India. Therefore, in this study, we determined the prevalence of the GSTT1 null polymorphism in the Kumaun popilation by conducting duplex PCR in 365 voluntary healthy individuals. The GSTT1 null genotype was detected in 18.4% of the individuals. Since GSTs play significant role in xenobiotic metabolism, the present data on GSTT1 genotype distribution should contribute in understanding genetic association with cancer risk in this understudied population.

        Effects of Microcrack Evolution on the Electrical Resistance of Cu Thin Films on Flexible PI Substrates During Cyclic-Bend Testing

        Cyclic-bend testing was conducted on flexible Cu-clad laminate (FCCL) to investigate the correlation betweenelectrical resistance and the evolution of microcracks. During the test, the change in the electrical resistance of theFCCL was monitored using two-point probe method. The variation in the electrical resistance of the FCCL withrespect to the bending cycle can be divided into three stages according to the slope. In order to reveal the microcracksin Cu thin film and how they contribute to the variation in electrical resistance, quantitative analysis of themicrocracks was conducted on the surface and cross-section of the deformed Cu thin films using field emissionscanning electron microscopy. Analysis showed that the simultaneous extensive evolution of microcracks in thetension and compression zones were main contributors to increase the electrical resistance following specificcritical bending cycles.
