This study aims to elucidate the molecular characterization of Trichoderma strains isolated from rice soil rhizosphere from paddy cultivation in West Sumatra, Indonesia, and investigate their beneficial effects on seedling growth of local rice varieties. A total of eight strains of Trichoderma strains were analyzed using 18 s rRNA gene. Their ability to enhance rice seedling growth was determined through an in vitro assay where Trichoderma inoculated seeds were compared with those uninoculated seeds on petridishes under aseptic laboratory condition. The results showed that seven out of eight strains of Trichoderma were identical to T. harzianum (99–100%) and the other strain was identical to T. minutisporum (99%). Each strain had recorded different capacity in increasing rice seedling growth. This study successfully identified two species of Trichoderma (T. harzianum and T. minutisporum) isolated from rice rhizosphere of rice cultivations in West Sumatra, Indonesia, and Trichoderma strains was found to be able to increase rice seedling growth

This work deals with human-friendly trajectory generation of an arm robot. Various methods for the trajectory generation have been proposed so far, but robots must deal with environments including human operators. In this situation, the robot should take a suitable action/motion to the individual operator. This work applies an interactive particle swarm optimization for the trajectory generation using human evaluation. Particle Swarm Optimization offer multiple sets of candidate trajectory and then the best one is shown to the human to be evaluated. Basically human evaluation is very important for generating robotic behavior, but the detail of the human evaluation is not clear. Furthermore, to reduce the number of the human evaluations, a state-value function is used. Therefore, we can search for good trajectory candidates with the estimated human evaluation. The experimental results show that the state-value function can estimate the human evaluation.

The decay heat that is produced by nuclear reactor spent fuel must be cooled in a spent fuelstorage pool. A wickless heat pipe or a vertical two-phase closed thermosyphon (TPCT) isused to remove this decay heat. The objective of this research is to investigate the thermalperformance of a prototype model for a large-scale vertical TPCT as a passive coolingsystem for a nuclear research reactor spent fuel storage pool. An experimental investigationand numerical simulation using RELAP5/MOD 3.2 were used to investigate the TPCTthermal performance. The effects of the initial pressure, filling ratio, and heat load wereanalyzed. Demineralized water was used as the TPCT working fluid. The cooled water wascirculated in the water jacket as a cooling system. The experimental results show that thebest thermal performance was obtained at a thermal resistance of 0.22℃/W, the lowestinitial pressure, a filling ratio of 60%, and a high evaporator heat load. The simulationmodel that was experimentally validated showed a pattern and trend line similar to thoseof the experiment and can be used to predict the heat transfer phenomena of TPCT withvarying inputs.
