Actinobacillus succinogenes NJ113 is capable of microaerobic fermentation, which offers the possibility of a novel type of pyruvic acid production. A dissolved oxygen environment with stirring at 300 rpm was a key factor in the fermentative production of a maximum concentration of pyruvic acid. Potassium carbonate (K2CO3) was found to have a role in promoting pyruvic acid production, influencing the concentration of pyruvic acid and production of the by-product succinic acid. The final titer of pyruvic acid production was 36.8±0.1 g L−1 with an overall yield of 0.639±0.056 g g−1 glucose and 3.12±0.03mmol g−1 dry cell weight h−1. Significance and impact of the study: This study is the first to illustrate the advantage of using Actinobacillus succinogenes NJ113 with no genetic modification under microaerobic conditions for the production of pyruvic acid.
Between pairwise $-\alpha -$ perfect functions and pairwise $-T-$ $\alpha -$ perfect functions

Many academics employ various structures to expand topological space, including the idea of topology, as a result of the importance of topological space in analysis and some applications. One of the most notable of the generalizations was the definition of perfect functions in bitopological spaces, which was presented by Ali.A.Atoom and H.Z.Hdeib. We propose the notion of $\alpha -$ pairwise perfect functions in bitopological spaces and define different types of this concept in this study. Pairwise $-T-$ $\alpha-$ perfect functions, pairwise $-\alpha -$irr-perfect functions, and pairwise $-T-$ $\alpha -$ irr-perfect functions, are all characterized in addition to pairwise $-\alpha -$perfect functions. We go through their primary characteristics and show how they interact. Finally, under these functions, we introduce the images and inverse images of certain bitopological features. About these concepts, some product theorems have been discovered.
Pack-Boriding of Monel 400: Microstructural Characterization and Boriding Kinetics

Monel 400 was pack-borided in the temperature range of 1173–1273 K for exposure times of 2–6 h. The boride layersproduced on the surface of the alloy were examined by scanning electron microscopy and phase identification was carriedout by X-ray diffraction. The topmost layer on the borided Monel 400 was compact and contained the Ni2Bphase whilethe diffusion zone contained grain boundary precipitates of borides. Boride layers of 35–290 μm thickness and 1002–1476HV0.025hardness were obtained. SEM observations revealed a smooth interface between the boride layer and the diffusionzone. A kinetic model based on the integral method was applied to investigate the kinetics of Ni2Blayer. The boron activationenergy in the Ni2Blayer was estimated as equal to 300.7 kJ mol−1. An experimental validation of the model was madeby comparing the experimental layer thicknesses obtained, after boriding at 1198 K for 1 and 3 h, with predicted values.

This study was conducted to investigate whether adding different levels of raw or differently processed chickpea into different diets of laying quails affected live weight, feed intake, feed efficiency, egg weight and internal and external egg quality. Chickpea was used as raw, autoclaved or microwave-processed, and it was involved in the diets on two different levels (20% and 40%). The sample was divided into 7 groups including the control, 20% and 40% raw, 20% and 40% autoclaved, and 20% and 40% microwaveprocessed groups. 336 ten-week-old female laying quails were used in the study, and the experiment continued for 19 weeks. In the study, the differences among the groups were insignificant in terms of live weight, feed intake, feed efficiency, egg weight and egg quality characteristics such as shell thickness, shell weight, yolk weight, yolk color and albumin index. The differences were significant in terms of the shape index, Haugh unit (p<0.05) and yolk index (p<0.01). Consequently, it was observed that different thermal processes on chickpeas did not usually have a significant effect on the yield performance of the quails, and the results that were obtained were similar to the other groups. However, it was determined that some egg quality characteristics were affected by the autoclaving and microwaving processes. Between the thermal processes, it may be stated that autoclaving provided better results.
Thiol Disulfide Homeostasis in Schizophrenic Patients Using Atypical Antipsychotic Drugs

Objective: Schizophrenia is a severe, debilitating mental disorder characterized by behavioral abnormalities. Although several studies have investigated the role of oxidative stress and the effects of antipsychotic drugs on oxidative markers in schizophrenia, adequate information is not available on these issues. The aim of this study is to determine the changes in oxidative status and thiol disulfide homeostasis in schizophrenic patients using atypical antipsychotic drugs. Methods: Thirteen schizophrenic patients using atypical antipsychotic drugs and 30 healthy controls were included this study. The concentrations of total oxidant status (TOS), total antioxidant status (TAS), native thiol, total thiol, and disulfide levels were determined in the study population. Results: The TAS (p=0.001), total thiol, and native thiol levels (p<0.001) were higher in the patients compared to the controls, whereas the TOS and disulfide levels were lower in the patients than in the controls (p<0.001). Conclusion: These results may suggest that atypical antipsychotic drugs have a useful therapeutic effect by reducing oxidative stress via the inhibition of the formation of disulfide bonds. The study population number was one of the limitations of this study. Therefore, further studies are needed to establish the association between thiol disulfide homeostasis in schizophrenic patients using atypical antipsychotic drugs
Peak pressures on low rise buildings: CFD with LES versus full scale and wind tunnel measurements

This paper focuses on the processes of wind flow in atmospheric boundary layer, to produce realistic full scale pressures for design of low-rise buildings. CFD with LES turbulence closure is implemented on a scale 1:1 prototype building. A proximity study was executed computationally in CFD with LES that suggests new recommendations on the computational domain size, in front of a building model, apart from common RANS-based guidelines (e.g., COST and AIJ). Our findings suggest a location of the test building, different from existing guidelines, and the inflow boundary proximity influences pressure correlation and reproduction of peak loads. The CFD LES results are compared to corresponding pressures from open jet, full scale, wind tunnel, and the ASCE 7-10 standard for roof Component & Cladding design. The CFD LES shows its adequacy to produce peak pressures/loads on buildings, in agreement with field pressures, due to its capabilities of reproducing the spectral contents of the inflow at 1:1 scale.
