Six dammarane-type triterpenoids, dammar-24-en-3b-ol (1), 3b-epicabraleahydroxy lactone (2), (E)-25-hydroperoxydammar-23-en-3b,20-diol (3), dammar-24-en-3b,20-diol (4), 3b-acetyl-20S,24S-epoxy-25-hydroxy- dammarane (5), and 3b-epiocotillol (6) were isolated from the methanolic extract of the bark of Aglaia elliptica. The chemical structure were identified on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and by comparison with those spectra previously reported. Compounds 1 - 6 were isolated first time from this plant. Compounds 1 - 6, along with a known synthetic analog, cabraleone (7) were evaluated their cytotoxic activity against P-388 murine leukimia cells in vitro. Among those compounds 3b-acetyl-20S,24S-epoxy-25-hydroxydammarane (5) showed strongest cytotoxic activity with IC50 value of 8.02 ? 0.06 mM.
Effects of Mn doping on dielectric properties of ferroelectric relaxor PLZT ceramics

A series of PLZT (8/65/35) ceramics with different Mn2O3 concentration (0.01, 0.1, 0.3, 1.0, and 3.0% by weight) have been synthesized to figure out its influence on their dielectric properties. The complex dielectric permittivity ε* ¼ ε 0『iε 00 as function of frequency and temperature as well as polarisation loops P(E) have been studied as a function of Mn concentration. It was found that Mn doping is restrained the Vogel-Fulcher law held in the unmodified PLZT compound producing essential change of the dependence of ε* on temperature and frequency and of the shape of P(E). The observed effects are explained by gradual involvement of Debye and Maxwell-Wagner polarisation mechanisms in relaxation processes with the growth of the concentration of Mn concentration admixture. A decrease of the ε'(T) maximum value and shift of the maximum to higher temperatures is observed. The observed effects are attributed to impacts of Mn2þ and Mn3þ ions: formation of oxygen vacancies paired with Mn2þ as dipoles and Jahn-Teller distortion prompted by Mn3þ ions.

In this paper, we analyze the effect of the representative spectral indices, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), normalized difference water index (NDWI) and normalized difference built-up index (NDBI) on classification accuracies of Landsat-8 OLI image.After creating these spectral index images, we propose five methods to select the spectral index images as classification features together with Landsat-8 OLI bands from 1 to 7. From the experiments we observed that when the spectral index image of NDVI or NDWI is used as one of the classification features together with the Landsat-8 OLI bands from 1 to 7, we can obtain higher overall accuracy and kappa coefficient than the method using only Landsat-8 OLI 7 bands. In contrast, the classification method, which selected only NDBI as classification feature together with Landsat-8 OLI 7 bands did not show the improvement in classification accuracies.
