        Purpose : The purpose of this study is to find out which method is efficient to enhance the flexibility of lower back between PNF(Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation), static and dynamic stretching. Methods : Subjects were 30 young people between the ages 17 and 19. They were randomly divided into three groups; static group(n=10) performed a static stretching, dynamic group(n=10) performed a dynamic stretching, and PNF group(n=10) performed a PNF stretching. Intervention was provided 5 days per week for 4 weeks. For each case, Trunk flexion forward, trunk flexion backward, trunk left lateral bending, trunk right lateral bending, trunk flexion forward a measuring instrument and tapeline were performed to measured the flexibility of lower back at different times(before starting the exercise, after 4 weeks). Results : The results of the study reveal that the lower back flexibility was a statistically significant difference in all groups(p<.05). There was statistically significant difference between PNF group and static group, PNF group and dynamic group. Conclusion : The finding indicated that PNF may be preferred technique for improving flexibility, and that flexibility training results in an increased consistency of flexibility scores.

      • PNF를 이용한 슬괵근 신장 운동이 요부 움직임과 유연성에 미치는 영향

Method : subject were 20 young people between the ages 20 and 25. subjects were randomly assigned to one of 2groups; PNF(n=10), static(n=10). respective group received the same stretching does of 3days per week for 4weeks. Trunk flexion forward a measuring instrument and tapeline were performed to measurement the flexibility of lower back at different times(before starting the exercise, 4weeks after starting). Results : The results of the study were as follows: The lower back flexibility was increased significantly in PNF groups. PNF, static groups showed meaningful defference in trunk flexion forward. The finding indicate that PNF may be preferred technique for improving flexibility and that flexibility training results in on increased consistency of flexibility scores.

        코어 프로그램 운동이 만성요통 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향

        Background: The purpose of this study was to ascertain the effects of core program exercise on balance in patients with chronic low back pain. Thirty-four subjects participated in this study, these subjects were assigned into two groups, a control group(n=17) and an experimental group(n=17). Methods: The subjects in the control group were received a conservative physical therapy and in the experimental group carried out the core program exercise for 30 minutes per day, three times a week during 6 weeks. In order to evaluate the progresses of balance ability, corresponding variables were measured at two times, pre and 6th week. The balance ability was assessed using GOOD BALANCE system. The collected data were analyzed by using the paired t-test and ANCOVA. In all statistical analyses, significance level, ${\alpha}$ was set by 0.05. Results: The results of this study were as follows: 1) In the position of left standing eye closed, there were significant difference of Y in the control group and X, Y, V in the experimental group. 2) In the position of right standing eye closed, there were significant difference of Y in the control group and X, Y, V in the experimental group. 3) In the position of dynamic balance 1, there were significant difference APV in experimental groups. 4) In the position of dynamic balance 2, there were significant difference MLV in experimental groups. 5) There were significances between the two group of X, V in static balance and APV in dynamic balance. Conclusion: The above results indicated that a core program exercise improved balance abilities in patients with chronic low back. The further studies should be focused at development of various modified forms of the core program exercise in keeping up the improvement effect of this exercise.

      • 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 통합 패턴이 정적 균형에 미치는 영향

        Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the combined patterns of PNF(proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) on the static balance ability. Methods : The measurements of the static balance ability were completed by 10 subjects for 6 weeks, from October to November 2007. The combined patterns of PNF were carried out by means of self-exercising suggested by Dietz, which were designed as four cases: two positions (standing and quadruped) for both patterns(sprinter and skater), respectively. The exercises were practiced once a day, 3 times a week in same condition. By using the GOOD BALANCE system, assessment of the static balance ability was taken at before and after exercise from 6 positions: normal standing, one leg left and one leg right standing when eye open and close, respectively. For each case, the experimental data was obtained in 3 items: mean X speed, mean Y speed and velocity moment. Results : The results of this study were as follows : 1. There were statistically significant differences of Mean X speed, Mean Y speed and Velocity moment between the before and the after exercise in the case of normal standing when eye open and close(NSEO and NSEC), respectively. 2. There was statistically significant difference of Mean X speed between the before and the after exercise in the case of one leg left standing when eye open(OLLEO). In this case, however, the statistically significant differences were not found in both terms of Mean Y speed and Velocity moment. 3. There were statistically significant differences of Mean X speed and Mean Y speed between the before and the after exercise in the case of one leg left standing when eye close(OLLEC). In this case, however, the statistically significant difference was not found in term of Velocity moment. 4. There were statistically significant differences of Mean X speed, Mean Y speed and Velocity moment between the before and the after exercise in the case of one leg right standing when eye close(OLREC). 5. There was statistically significant difference of Mean X speed between the before and the after exercise in the case of one leg right standing when eye open(OLREO). In this case, however, the statistically significant differences were not found in both terms of Mean Y speed and Velocity moment. 6. There were statistically significant differences of total Mean X speed, total Mean Y speed and total Velocity moment between the before and the after exercise. Conclusions : The above results from this study indicated that the combined patterns of PNF have improved the static balance ability. However the used self-exercise can be applied to normal people, i.e., the exercise is difficult to apply into clinical patients. The further study should be focused at development of various modified forms of the combined patterns of PNF in keeping up the improvement effect of this exercise.

        Purpose : The purpose of study was to determine effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss ball exercise and Swiss ball exercise on balance in the 40 students from H university. Method : There were two experimental conditions. There were two difference groups in the experimental conditions, which had to perform different exercise tasks: Swiss ball exercise group (n=20) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation exercise with Swiss ball exercise group(n=20). The experimental group received Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation exercise for 20minutes and Swiss Ball exercise for 40minutes, 3 times a week for 4weeks. While another experimental group received Swiss Ball exercise for 40minutes, 3 times a week for 4weeks. In order to evaluation effects of the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss Ball exercise and Swiss Ball exercise in the two different experimental group, subjects was measured by static balance. Statistical analysis was the paired t-test to compare the differences within groups and the SPSS to analyze the differences between groups. Results : The result of this study were as follows: The static balance was higher for the two different experimental group in post-exercise than in pre-exercise(P<0.5). Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss Ball exercise experimental group was significant difference better then another experimental group(P<0.5). Conclusion : The Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation pattern exercise with Swiss Ball exercise can result in improved static balance better then Swiss Ball exercise.

        PNF 스케이터 패턴 운동이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향

        본 연구는 PNF 스케이터 패턴을 이용한 운동이 뇌졸중 환자의 균형에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 뇌졸중 환자 42명을 대상으로 PNF 스케이터군 21명과 대조군 21명을 무작위로 선정하여 주 당 3회, 1일 30분간, 총 6주 동안운동을 실시하여 군내 균형능력 변화와 군 간 차이를 비교하고자 운동 전·후 균형 능력을 균형검사 장비(GOOD BALANCE system)와 일어나 걸어가기 검사, 기능적 팔 뻗기 검사를 통하여 측정하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 본 연구의 결과는 두 그룹 모두에서 정적 균형의 X, Y축의 평균속도와 동적 균형의 TUG, FRT가 실험 후 유의하게 개선되었지만(p<.05), 그룹간 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 이와 같은 결과로 보아 일반적인 운동치료와 PNF 스케이터 패턴을 이용한 운동치료 모두 뇌졸중 환자의 균형 능력을 증진시키는데 효과적임을 알 수 있었지만, PNF 스케이터 패턴을 적용한 군이 여러 항목에서 더 긍정적인 영향을 주었기 때문에, 본 연구 결과가 임상에서 PNF 스케이터 패턴을 이용할 수 있는 기초 자료로써 충분한 자료가 될 수 있을 것이다. This study conducted the following experiment to see how application of skater pattern in PNF affects balance capabilities among stroke patients. The experiment was conducted with 42 patients diagnosed with stroke; The control group received general rehabilitation treatment 3 sessions a week while the experimental group utilized the skater pattern in PNF treatment for 6 weeks. By using the GOOD BALANCE system, assessment of the static balance ability was taken before and after exercise. The dynamic balance ability assessment was implemented by using timed up and go(TUG) test and functional reach test(FRT). For the results of this study are as follows: After the completion of the rehabilitation exercise, mean velocity of X, Y direction, BBS, FRT were showed statistically significant differences in control group and experimental group(p<.05). but difference between group did not appear. From these results, general exercise therapy and exercise therapy using PNF skater pattern of patients with hemiplegia proved to be effective in improving their balance, but PNF skater pattern group resulted in a more positive impact on several entries given. The clinical results of the study are available from the PNF skater pattern as the basic data.

        고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 통합 패턴에 따른 정적 균형의 변화

        고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 통합 패턴이 정적 균형에 미치는지, 여자 대학생 20명을 대상으로 6주간 실험하였다. 고유수용성 통합패턴은 Dietz에 의해 고안된 스프린터와 스케이트 패턴을 이용하였으며, 훈련은 주3회 일 1회 실시하였다. Good Balance system을 이용하여 정상적인 기립자세, 눈을 감고 한발 들고 좌,우 기립자세, 눈을 뜨고 한발 들고 좌,우 기립자세에서 X축 속도, Y축 속도와 속도 모멘트 3항목의 변수를 측정한 결과 눈뜨고 서기자세, 눈감고 서기자세, 눈감고 우측외발서기 자세에서 X, Y 축의 평균속도, 압력중심의 속도 모멘트 영역 모두에서 운동 전ㆍ후 감소하여 통계학적으로 유의하게 감소하였으며, 눈뜨고 좌측외발서기 자세에서는 X축의 평균 속도만 운동 전ㆍ후 감소하여 통계학적으로 감소하였다. 이러한 결과 고유수용성 신경근 촉진법의 통합패턴이 정적 균형 능력에 영향을 미치며, 향후 본 연구의 운동방법을 임상에서 환자에게 적용할 수 있도록 더 쉽고, 다양한 형태의 기술이 포함된 연구가 진행 되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. This study was to investigate the effects of the combined patterns of PNF(proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) on the static balance ability by 20 subjects for 6 weeks. The combined patterns of PNF were carried out by Sprinter and Skater suggested by Dietz which were practiced once a day, 3 times a week. This study were measured normal standing, one leg left and one leg right standing when eye open and close on GOOD BALANCE system. These result lead us to the conclusion that mean velocity of X,Y direction, COP velocity moment were showed a statically decrease applying post-exercise on Normal Standing Eye Open(NSEO), Normal Standing Eye Close(NSEC), One Leg Right Standing Eye Close(OLRSEC) and Just velocity of X direction were showed a statically decrease applying post-exercise on One Leg Right Standing Eye Close(OLRSEC). The above results from this study indicated that combined patterns of PNF have improved the static balance ability. However the used self-exercise ca be applied to normal people, i.e., the exercise is difficult to apply into clinical patients. The further study should be focused at development of various modified forms of the combined patterns of PNF in keeping up the improvement effect of the exercise.

        고압산소치료가 지연성근육통의 통증, 관절운동범위 및 근피로 회복에 미치는 영향

        Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) on the pain, ROM (range of motion) and muscle fatigue recovery of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Methods: Twenty-six subjects who are student in their 20s at a university participated in this study, these subjects were assigned into two groups, a control group (n=12) and an experiment group (n=14). The subjects in experimental group were intervened by HBOT (40 minutes, 1.3 ATA), while ones on control group weren't by any intervention after induced DOMS. Results: First, in the comparison of VAS (visual analog scale), there were significant variations with the period (p<0.001), interaction of period (p<0.05) and group (p<0.05). In the comparison of PPT (pressure pain threshold), there were significant variations with the period (p<0.001) and interaction of period (p<0.05). Second, in the comparison of ROM, there were significant variations with the period (p<0.001), interaction of period (p<0.001) and group (p<0.01). Third, in the comparison of CK (creatine kinase) and LDH (lactate dehydrogenase), there no signigicant variations with all measure variables. Conclusion: The above results indicated that HBOT were effective to decrease the pain and improve the ROM in DOMS. Also the statistical significant variations of blood factors of muscle fatigue were not found in this.

        테이핑과 체간의 구심성 운동이 근력, 지구력 및 유연성에 미치는 영향

        Background: The purpose of this study is to measure the amount of influence of taping and a whole body balance upon muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility. Experiments were conducted by two different groups, specially designed for this study. The choice of exercise methods for each group depends on its own idiosyncratic characteristics (or Each group employs its own idiosyncratic exercise method). Methods: The first group, with taping applied, undertook exercises three times a week; second group just took exercises three times a week. These experiments show the following outcomes. Results: The first group showed a considerable amount of difference in terms of muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility. Second group also showed similar outcome. Both the first group and the second group revealed a considerable difference. But the first group showed a bigger difference than the second group. Conclusion: Thus, the result of these experiments strongly indicates that exercise, with taping applied, turns out the most effective in promoting muscle strength, endurance, and flexibility.

      • 하지의 닫힌 사슬 운동시 대퇴부 테이핑 적용이 등속성 근기능에 미치는 영향

        Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of kinesio taping of thigh muscle on isokinetic muscular function during closed kinetic chain exercise of lower extremity. Methods : Twenty healthy males were participated in this study. The isokinetic muscular function of closed kinetic chain were measured for peak torque, peak torque % body weight, average power, max rep tot work before and after application of kinesio taping on thigh muscles. Results : At $60^{\circ}/s$ peak force and peak force % body weight were significant increased in both extension(p<0.01) and flexion(p<0.001) after applying kinesio taping. At $180^{\circ}/s$ average power was significant increased in both extension and flexion after applying taping(p<0.001). At $240^{\circ}/s$ max rep tot work was significant increased in both extension(p<0.001) and flexion(p<0.05). Conclusion : This study suggests that application of kinesio taping on thigh muscle was more effective to improve isokinetic muscular function in closed kinetic chain exercise of lower extremity.
