        강우처리 및 수확 지연에 따른 콩 종실 특성 및 수량성 변화

        Recently in Korea, soybean harvesting has been delayed due to rainfall during the harvesting season, resulting in a reduction in yield and seed quality. This study was conducted to analyze the changes in yield and seed quality during delayed harvest with rainfall treatment using different harvesting methods, including field harvesting and polyethylene film covering after cutting fully-matured soybean plants (PE covering after cutting), with two major Korean soybean cultivars (Glycine max L), Pungsannamulkong and Daewonkong. The shattering rate of Pungsannamulkong, which is higher than that of Daewonkong, increased up to 41.8% when the harvest was delayed for 40 days without rainfall treatment by harvesting with PE covering after cutting. The weight of 100 seeds tended to decrease slightly as harvesting was delayed. When Daewonkong was harvested using the PE covering after cutting method with rainfall treatment, the yield decreased to the lowest level with a 0.8 kg ha<sup>-1</sup> daily reduction rate. Pungsannamulkong showed the lowest yield when harvested using PE covering after cutting without rainfall treatment with a 3.4 kg ha<sup>-1</sup> daily reduction rate. The infected seed rate increased according to the harvest delay in both cultivars, and significant differences were observed according to rainfall treatment and harvesting method. The germination rate was maintained above 95% even after 40 days of delayed harvest if there was no rainfall treatment. However, with rainfall treatment, the germination rate was significantly lowered as harvesting time was delayed. In the field harvesting with rainfall treatment, the germination rate decreased to 77.2% for Daewonkong and 76.5% for Pungsannamulkong after 40 days of harvest delay. For the 100-seed weight, effects of individual treatments and interactions between treatments were not observed. In contrast, the effect of interactions between treatments on the shattering rate was significant in both cultivars, indicating that the shattering rate had the greatest impact on the yield changes during delayed harvest.

        학문 목적 한국어 학습자의 읽기-듣기-쓰기 요약 과제 수행 양상

        The present study explores several aspects of KAP (Korean for Academic Purposes) learners` performance as exhibited in their writings in response to the integrated reading-listening-writing test task. The writings, together with interviews of 32 KAP students, were analysed to see how the functions of reading, listening, and writing are integrated and how they use source materials. The results showed that the integration process was recursive and that not only does the proficient group tend to use organizing, selecting, and connecting more efficiently but also they were able to pair up contents from different sources according to their relevance. Secondly, the proficient group tends to use “summary” and “paraphrase” to present the content of source information. However, the less proficient group used “declaration” and “quotation” much more than “summary” and “paraphrase”. In addition, most of the proficient group identified the sources of information as the Reading and Listening texts whereas the majority of less proficient group writers did not identify the source of information.

        동영상 학습 환경에서 사전지식과 내용복합성에 따른 인지부하의 객관적 측정 방법 탐색

        본 연구는 인지부하의 객관적 지표로서 잘 알려진 동공확장 지표를 동영상 학습에서 적용하여 내용복합성과 사전지식 수준에 따라 탐색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권 소재 대학생 82명을 모집하여 인지부하를 발생시키는 요인인 내용복합성 수준에 따라 동영상 학습 시청 중의 동공반응을 측정하였다. 동공반응이 동영상 학습 중 내용복합성에 따른 차이를 반영하는지 살펴본 후, 사전지식 상, 하 집단 간에도 이러한 차이가 유의한지 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 연구 참여자들의 동공확장 평균, 동공확장 누적을 실험을 통하여 수집하고, 수집된 변수에 대하여 내용복합성에 따른 종속표본 t 검정을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 동영상 학습 과정에서 동공확대 평균, 동공확대 누적 변수는 내용복합성에 따른 차이를 통계적으로 유의하게 구분하였다. 그러나 사전지식에 따른 집단 간에는 서로 다른 양상을 보였다. 사전지식 상 집단의 경우 내용복합성에 따른 동공확대 평균, 동공확대 누적 변수 모두 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였으나 사전지식 하 집단의 경우 내용복합성에 따른 차이가 유의하지 않았다. 이에 연구진은 이러한 실증적 검증을 근거로 하여 동공변화를 동영상 학습 환경에서 학습자가 경험하는 인지부하 수준을 비교하는 데 활용되기 위한 논의를 모색하였다. The purpose of this study was to investigate pupil expansion factors, known as objective indicators of cognitive load, in video learning. We recruited 82 college students and measured pupil response during watching video learning according to the level of content complexity, which causes cognitive load. Through this, we examined whether the differences according to the contents complexity during the video learning were reflected, and then examined whether these differences were significant among the upper and lower groups of prior knowledge. Through experiments, the average pupil dilation and cumulative pupil dilatation were collected and the dependent sample t test according to the content complexity was conducted. As a result of the study, the pupil dilation average and pupil dilation cumulative variables were statistically significant. However, there was a difference between the groups according to prior knowledge. In the group with high prior knowledge, the pupillary mean and pupillary cumulative variables showed statistically significant differences according to the content complexity. However, in the group with low prior knowledge, there was no significant difference according to the content complexity. Based on this empirical study, it is expected that the pupil change can be used as an index for estimating the cognitive load level experienced by learners in the video learning environment.

        미국 대학 한국어 학습자의 학습 지속 동기 연구 -비계승어 학습자를 중심으로-

        This article studies what makes a learner continuously invest in learning Korean. Narratives of nine non-heritage learners in the Korean program of a university in the US were qualitatively analyzed. The participants’ initial motivations were various, such as interest in Korean popular culture, having Korean friends, etc. However, the data indicate that the participants’ motivations have dynamically changed in the course of learning Korean as follows: (1) some students attained or strengthened integrative motivation as they contact target language speakers with their improved Korean proficiency, (2) some students attained their instrumental motivation as they discover benefits for their future job, (3) the participants seemed to shape their ideal L2 selves in details, and it was affected not only by integrative motivation but also by instrumental motivation, (4) some participants extended their cultural interest to various fields of Korean society and culture other than popular culture, and it was partly due to the strengthening of their integrative motivation, (5) Korean language learning seems to affect the identity of Asian American learners because they value Korean language and culture as Asian culture that they can relate.         역동적 체계로서의 한국어 학습 동기 - 외국인 학부 유학생의 동기, 탈동기, 재동기를 중심으로 -

        The present study investigates international students’ dynamic motivation based on the L2 Motivational Self System. Data were collected from international college students through the survey and qualitative interviews. The results showed: 1) attitude towards the Korean language and Korean community and interest in foreign languages were major factors of motivation; 2) major factors of demotivation were pressure/ difficulty in learning, and psychological factors in learning; 3) ideal L2 self made a major contribution to remotivation and 4) the motivation for learning Korean was the highest in the proportion of learners in the early phase of studying abroad. The proportion of de-motivated learners increased from the early years to the middle and the latter in study abroad. (Chonnam National University)

        미국인 한국어 학습자의 교환학생 경험과 정체성 연구

        This study qualitatively examines the identity development of three non-heritage Korean language learners participating in a semester study abroad program in South Korea. The data in the present study were collected through weekly journals and pre-, mid-, and post-study abroad interviews. In a narrative inquiry, the analysis indicates that the non-heritage American students developed their identity as follows: (1) first-hand experience of the target language community helped to discover and to verify participants’ identities; (2) experiences in South Korea positively influenced the ethnic identity of an Asian American student; (3) study abroad can also affect students’ identity negatively developing foreigner identities especially in case they are not prepared culturally and linguistically; (4) the language learner’s imagined communities became real communities through study abroad experiences and it motivated the participant to invest more on Korean language learning and (5) the participants had different experiences with native speakers how foreigner-like they look to the eyes of the target language community. This study contributes to a more comprehensive theory of Korean language learners’ identity development. (Chonnam National University)

        국외 한국어 교사의 자질에 대한 학습자 인식 연구 -미국 대학의 한국어 교육을 중심으로-

        This study attempted to characterize qualities of an effective Korean language teacher in the U.S. perceived by U.S. college students. For this purpose, a survey was conducted to 190 learners of Korean at university in the U.S. The results of this study indicate that (a) the students deemed teacher’s mastery of the target language to be more important than teacher’s nativeness; (b) the students found it more important for teachers to understand students’ different cultural background than to understand American culture; (c) the students gave weight to giving good feedback and clear criteria; (d) the students agreed upon the importance of teaching Korean in Korean, however, they disagreed about the effectiveness of ‘teaching only in Korean’ in class; (e) the students perceived that Korean teachers were more approachable, understanding, patient, and creating a greater bond with students comparing to teachers of other subjects. The results of this study will help (a) training program for teachers who will be dispatched overseas and (b) hiring decision of Korean instructors in the US. (Korea University)

        The purpose of a machine translation program is to provide verbal output. Most machine translation program users evaluate machine translation program using a method that is read by the reader. It is necessary to research the machine translation program user as a reader, however there is a lack of related research. Therefore, this study analyzed the relationship between evaluation of machine translation and purchase decision making. As a result of this study using decision tree, word and grammatical equivalence have been confirmed to be used as a criterion in situations where professional judgment is required. On the other hand, the use of pragmatic and textual equivalence seems to be an important criterion in all situations, but it is mainly used as a criterion on a personal level.

        미국 대학 KFL 학습자의 한국어 학습 전략 연구

        본 연구는 미국 대학 KFL 학습자들의 한국어 학습 전략 양상을 분석하여 KFL 학습자의 언어 학습 전략을 이해하고 교육적 시사점을 얻고자 하였다. 이를 위해 미국 대학에서 한국어 과목을 수강중인 127명의 학습자를 대상으로 언어 학습 전략 조사 목록(SILL)을 활용하여 학습자의 한국어 학습 전략을 조사한 후 이를 범주별, 문항별로 분석하였다. 범주별 분석 결과, 기존 ESL/EFL 및 KSL 연구 결과와는 달리 미국 대학의 KFL 학습자들은 6개의 SILL 전략 범주 중 상위인지전략을 가장 높은 빈도로 사용하며 사회적 전략, 인지적 전략, 기억 전략, 보상 전략, 정의적 전략 순으로 한국어 학습 전략을 많이 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 간접 전략을 직접적 전략보다 높은 빈도로 사용하고 있었다. 다음으로 51개의 SILL 문항별로 분석한 결과, 18개 항목은 높은 수준,28개 항목은 중간 수준, 5개 항목은 낮은 수준의 사용 빈도를 보였는데, 구어 관련 전략에 비해 문어 관련 전략은 상당히 낮게 나타나는 특징을 보였다. 또한 상위 10개 문항에는 4개의 상위인지 전략, 3개의 인지 전략, 2개의 사회적 전략, 1개의 기억 전략 항목이 있었으며 보상 전략 및 정의적전략은 포함되지 않았다. 상위 10개 문항 중 한국의 문화 관련 전략이 두항목 포함된 점이 특징적이었다. 또한 자신의 학습을 관리하는 측면의 상위인지전략은 상위 10개 문항에 다수 포함된 반면, 학습과 관련해서 스스로 자신에게 상을 주거나 학습 과정의 느낌을 표현하는 정의적 측면의 항목들은 하위 10개 문항에 포함되었다. 이러한 범주별, 항목별 전략 사용빈도 양상은 미국 내 KFL 학습자 및 학습 환경의 특성을 반영하는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 그 동안 한국어 교육 연구에서는 대부분 KSL 환경에서 언어 학습 전략 연구가 이루어져 왔고 영어를 L1으로 하는 학습자에 대한 전략 연구는 드물었다. 따라서 이러한 미국 내 KFL 학습자의 한국어 학습 전략에 대한 연구는 학습자에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓혀 줄 수 있으며, 학습자들이 자신의 학습 전략을 인식하고 보다 적극적으로 활용할 수 있도록 하는 교육적 자료가 될 것이다.
