This paper describes a boost converter cascaded high frequency link direct dc-ac converter suitable for fuel cell power sources. A new multi-loop control for a boost converter to reduce the low frequency input current harmonics drawn from fuel cell is proposed. A new PWM technique for the cycloconverter at the secondary to reject the low order harmonics in the output voltages is presented in detail.

This paper describes a power control scheme for a fuel cell hybrid system. The fuel cell hybrid system consists of a fuel cell system , battery as an auxiliary power source and power converters, where the fuel cell system supplies the power required by a load and charges the battery. In the proposed power control strategy, the power balance between fuel cell and battery is managed properly based on the battery SOC and the power demand to improve the efficiency of fuel cell hybrid system. A dual boost converter with a dead-beat control is hired to control the output power of the fuel cell stack and manage its operation region for improving the performance of fuel cell system.

This paper proposes a new soft switching technique for a phase-shift controlled bi-directional DC-DC converter. The described converter employs a low profile high frequency transformer and two active full-bridge converters for bidirectional power flow capability. A new soft switching technique is proposed, which guarantees soft switching over wide range (no load to full load) without any additional circuit components. In the proposed switching scheme, the switch pairs in the diagonal position of the converter each are turned on/off simultaneously by the switching signals with a variable duty ratio depending on the phase shift amount, and the converter is operated without freewheeling interval.

Electrodeless fluorescent lamps utilizing an inductively coupled plasma were found to have a long lifetime and high efficacy and now are used in some indoor and outdoor applications. This paper gives a basic data of electrodeless fluorescent lamp "QL"(Philips). The experimental system consist of QL 85W/840 lamp and QL 85W S/03 ballast.

This paper describes a power control scheme to improve the performance of a fuel cell-battery hybrid power source for residential application. The proposed power control scheme includes a power control strategy to control the power flow of the fuel cell hybrid power system and a digital control technique for a front-end dc-dc converter of the fuel cell. The power control strategy enables the fuel cell to operate within the high efficiency region defined by the polarization curve and efficiency curve of the fuel cell. A dual boost converter with digital control is applied as a front-end ed-ed converter to control the fuel cell output power. The digital control technique of the converter employs a moving-average digital filter into its voltage feedback loop to cancel the low frequency harmonic current drawn from the fuel cell and then limits the fuel cell output current to a current limit using a predictive current limiter to keep the fuel cell operation within the high efficiency region as well as to minimize the fuel cell oxygen starvation.

본 논문에서는 연료전지용 듀얼 부스트 컨버터의 전압제어루프의 피드백 루프에 디지털 필터를 도입하여 부하에 의해 발생하는 출력전압의 저고조파 리플성분을 제거한 측정값을 사용함으로써 입력전류의 저고조파 리플을 제거하고, 전류제어루프에 predictive deadbeat 제어기법을 적용하여 제어주기와 제어알고리듬 계산에 의한 시간적 지연에 의해 발생되는 동적응답특성의 저하를 최소화한다. 센서를 사용하는 대신 연료전지 스택에 공급되는 수소와 공기의 압력과 스택의 출력전류에 결정되는 연료전지의 전압-전류 특성곡선을 이용하여 부스터 컨버터의 입력전압을 계산하고 전류를 제어함으로써 연료전지 시스템의 성능을 최적화한다.
