The research aimed to seeing how 12-week swimming and aquarobics would influence stamina and body composition of obese middle-aged women. The thesis studied a total of 16 people of two groups; eight middle-aged women with more than 30% body fat who are working out in a regular manner but not swimming; other eight middle-aged having the same body fat percentage who are exercising on a regular basis but not doing aquarobics. The study was conducted after the subjects agreed to take a voluntary participation in the research, given sufficient explanation over its details, procedure, significance, possible effect and potential risk. The swimming program, which was for beginners, was conducted for 12 weeks. In the first four weeks, the subjects adapted to the circumstances for the exercise, learned basic swimming movements, and swam the freestyle stroke with 50-60% HRmax under the guidance of an instructor, while walking and jumping in the swimming pool between the main workout in the consideration of individual stamina. In the aquarobics program consisting of 12 to 15 items, the subjects performed the workout-mainly fundamental movements-with 50-60% HRmax in the first four weeks, 60-70% HRmax for the next four weeks, and 70-80% in the final four weeks. The conclusions obtained from this study were as follows; Trunk flexion(p<.001), sit-up(p<.01), sargent jump(p<.01), body fat ratio(p<.05), lean body mass(p<.05), total body water(p<.05) and protein mass(p<.05) were statistically significant difference in the swimming group. and Trunk flexion(p<.001), sit-up(p<.001), One leg standing(p<.05), Sargent jump(p<.01), Lean body mass(p<.05), total body water(p<.05) and muscle mass(p<.05) were statistically significant difference in the aquarobics group.

For the purpose of offering the basic data for establishing the training programme proper for physics major candidates, we operated the systematic training to E school students for 12 weeks knowing the effect on the body composition and concluded the following from the study. 1. Fat mass the male student by 7.78kg to 5.56kg the female student showed a decrease by 20.0kg to 18.5kg but a car that keeps in mind was expose that is not . 2. Total body water increased in the male student from 41.1ℓ to 42.4ℓ, the female student was from 31.6ℓ to 32.4ℓ. 3. Muscle mass decreased as in the male student from 55.7kg to 57.4kg, in the female student it was 43.0kg to 44.2kg. 4. Lean body mass decreased in the male student from 59.2kg to 60.9kg, in the female student it was 45.6kg to 46.8kg. 5. The male students percent of body fat decreased in quantity from 11.6% to 8.48% but and , decrease in te female student was 25.9% to 26.9%.
