In the high-speed EMU, the modularized traction converter produces the significant harmonic currents caused from the switching behavior of a power converter. These harmonic currents bring the interference among the traction equipment. One way to minimize the interference is to design the secondary windings of a power transformer decoupled magnetically as possible. This paper presents a magnetic field analysis on a winding disposition to clarify an impact on magnetic decoupling between secondary windings, under a limited height of a train. Two winding dispositions for a single-phase shell-type transformer are constructed and simulated by a three-dimensional finite elements method (FEM) model. Two different winding dispositions are constructed and simulated by three-dimensional FEM model using Maxwell3D.
고속전철용 단상 병렬 컨버터의 비간섭제어 성능 개선을 위한 전향 제어기 설계

This paper presents the design of the feed forward controller to improve on the non-interference control performance of a single PWM converter in parallel for high-speed trains. The feed forward controller is designed to minimize the interference generated by converter switching in parallel operation of PWM converters. The gain value of the feed forward controller is calculated by inductance values of the input transformer. However, it is difficult to decide this gain value exactly because inductance values are changed by the operation condition of an input transformer. In this paper, the proposed design of feed forward controller can exactly decide the gain value using the leakage inductances estimated by detecting the variation of input current. the validity of the proposed feed forward controller is proved through the simulation results.

In this paper, the fault tolerant system for BLDC motor has been proposed to maintain control performance under open phase fault of inverter. Fault detection and diagnosis method is proposed to two different types which are the method by differences between reference and actual current, and using additional voltage sensor across lower switch of inverter leg. The reconfiguration consists of four switch topology connecting faulty leg to DC-link middle point by bidirectional switch. The proposed fault tolerant system quickly recover general performance by short detecting time and reconfiguration of system topology. The feasibility of proposed system is improved by simulation.

In this paper, a novel sensorless brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive method using the fuzzy back-EMF observer is proposed to improve the performance of conventional sensorless drive methods. Most existing back-EMF sensing methods need additional circuit and have a low performance in transient state or low speed range. Therefore, this paper proposes the fuzzy back-EMF observer and an algorithm using this observer to estimate a speed and a position of the rotor. The robustness of the proposed algorithm is proved through the simulation compared with other sensorless drive methods.
MV급 대용량 전동기 구동용 모듈러 멀티레벨 컨버터 기술

본 고에서는 최근 대용량 고압 전동기 구동 시스템에 새로운 적용이 가능한 모듈러 멀티레벨 컨버터 토폴로지의 기술적 특징을 확인하고, 전동기의 기동 및 저속 영역에서 영향을 미치는 모듈러 멀티레벨 컨버터의 주파수에 따른 서브 모듈 커패시터 전압의 변동폭을 이론적으로 분석하고, 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 기존 연구 결과의 고찰을 통해 향후 MMC 적용 고압 전동기 드라이브 기술의 개발 전략들을 제언하고자 한다. In this article, the technological characteristics of the modular multi-level converter(MMC) topology, which can be newly applied to the high-power medium-voltage motor drive system, has been confirmed. The voltage fluctuation of the sub-module capacitor, which affects the motor start-up and low-speed region according to the operating frequency of the modular multi-level converter, was analyzed by theoretical equation. This article seeks the future strategies for MMC-applied Medium-voltage motor drive technology through consideration of the results of previous research.
동력분산형 고속철도의 변압기 및 컨버터 스위칭 성능 개선 연구

In this research, studied were performance improvements of the power conversion system for the high speed EMU. The object of this research is separated into two parts ; the one is the analysis of the designed transformer and the other is the switching improvement of a parallel PWM converter. The multi-outputs of a transformer must be balanced. However, the output of transformer is interfered and unbalanced in practical operation. To solve these problems, the electromagnetic analyzing model of a transformer is used to minimize the output interference. Also, the improvement of converter switching can reduce the unbalanced output and harmonics.
고속철도 차량용 PWM 컨버터의 전원전압 변동에 강인한 제어

High-speed traction has voltage source variation because the electric power of tractions is supplied by difference traction power system according to operating section. This paper proposes the robust control maintaining constant output performance against voltage source variation for PWM converters of the high speed traction. The proposed scheme consists of feed-forward compensation for current controller by on-line calculating the rms voltage of voltage source. Total dynamic performance of high speed traction can be improved by the reduction of the output voltage ripple which is resulted from voltage source sag and variation. The superior performance and validity of the proposed scheme is proved through the simulation.
