This study was investigated to determine the residual amounts of bifenthrin which is used to control Spodoptera litura using gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) with electron capture detector (ECD). Recoveries obtained from two concentrations were 95.33% and 97.82%, respectively. The residual amounts of bifenthrin in the chwinamul (Aster scaber) ranged from 1.42 to 3.08 mg kg-1. Because the maximum residue limits (MRL) of bifenthrin in the chwinamul (Aster scaber) was 1.0 mg kg-1, it can be proposed for these chemicals to apply up to 3 times before 14 days of harvest in Korea.

In the present study, a single residual analytical method was developed for fosthiazate. Fosthiazate was analyzed in brown rice, soybean, green pepper, and mandarin. For fosthiazate, samples were extracted with acetonitrile, concentrated and partitioned with dichloromethane and analyzed with GC/FPD. The limit of quantitation (LOQ) for fosthiazate was 0.1 ng (S/N>10) and method limit of quantitation (MLOQ) was 0.02 mg/kg. Recovery ranged through 80.7-111.3% at fortification level of 0.02 (MLOQ), 0.2 (10×MLOQ), and 1.0 (50×MLOQ). The coefficient of variation (CV) for both the pesticides was less than 10% regardless of sample types. These results were further confirmed with GC/MS, respectively.

This study was investigated to determine the residual amounts of acetamiprid in amaranthus (Amaranthus mangostanus L.) using high performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detector (HPLC/UVD) and to assess the standard for safe use of acetamiprid 5% SL. Acetamiprid is used to control the green peach aphid (Myzus persicae) on amaranthus. Recovery tests of acetamiprid in amaranthus were done by spiking 10 and 50-times of limit of detection (LOD). Recoveries obtained from two concentrations were 81.98% and 79.52%, respectively. The residual amount of acetamiprid from the amaranthus harvested 3, 7 and 10 days after 1 and 2-times treatment ranged from 0.06 to 1.63 mg/kg. Because the maxium residue limit (MRL) of acetamiprid in the amaranthus is 3.0 mg/kg (Provisional MRLs, Brassica leafy vegetables, KFDA), it is proposed for acetamiprid 5% SL to apply 2 times, 3 days before harvest in Korea.

For pyraclofos, samples were extracted with acetonitrile, concentrated and partitioned with dichloromethane and analyzed with GC/FPD. The limit of quantitation (LOQ) for fosthiazate was 0.1 ng (S/N>10) and method limit of quantitation (MLOQ) was 0.02 mg/kg. Recovery ranged through 78.1%-117.7% at fortification level of 0.02 (MLOQ), 0.2 (10×MLOQ), and 1.0 (50×MLOQ). The coefficient of variation (CV) for both the pesticides was less than 10% regardless of sample types. These results were further confirmed with GC/MS, respectively.

This study was investigated to determine the residual amount of teflubenzuron using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with ultra violet detector (UVD) and to assess the standard for safe use of this chemical in the peach. Teflubenzuron is used to control the Grapholita molesta on the peach. Recoveries obtained from two concentrations were 89.37% and 83.62%, respectively. The residual amount of teflubenzuron from the peach harvested 7, 14 and 21 days after treated 2 and 3-times were ranged from 0.04 to 0.21 mg kg-1. Because the maximum residue limit (MRL) of teflubenzuron in the peach is 1.0 mg kg-1, it is proposed for these chemicals to apply 3 times, 14 days before harvest in Korea.

This study was investigated to determine the residual amounts of boscalid in sedum (Sedum sarmentosum Bunge) using gas-liquid chromatography with electron capture detector (GLC/ECD) and to assess the standard for safe use of boscalid+trifumizole 30 (20+10)% WP. Boscalid is used to control the Botrytis cinerea causing gray mold on sedum. Recovery tests of boscalid in sedum were done by spiking 10 and 50-times of limit of detection (LOD). Recoveries obtained from two concentrations were 95.02% and 88.74%, respectively. The residual amount of boscalid from the sedum harvested 3, 7 and 14 days after 2 and 3-times treatment ranged from 11.68 to 46.20 mg/kg. Because the maxium residue limit (MRL) of boscalid in the sedum is 30.0 mg kg-1, it is proposed for boscalid of boscalid+trifumizole 30 (20+10)% WP to apply 2 times, 7 days before harvest in Korea.

This study was carried out to aid an establishment of guideline for safe use of boscalid in squash (Cucurbita spp.). Boscalid was sprayed on squash according to safe use guideline. Samples were collected 2 hr after spray at 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 days, and was analyzed by GLC/ECD. The limit of detection of boscalid was 0.02 mg/kg. The biological half life of boscalid was found to be 2.5-2.8 days. The residual amount of boscalid 10 days before harvest was 13.68 mg/kg. The residue levels in boscalid was lower than the established MRL.
