Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) have many advantages such as high power density, wide speed range and so on. With the IPMSM, miniaturization and energy efficient design can be achieved in comparison with Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(SPMSM). In order to secure miniaturization and manufacturing efficiency of the motor, it has concentrated winding, because concentrated winding can reduce the motor volume and make manufacturing to be simple compared with the distributed winding. However, according to the pole-slot combinations motor parameters can be changed and unexpected normal force can be generated. Especially, unbalanced normal force in airgap can cause serious vibration and acoustic problem. Accordingly, in this paper, normal force and parameters variation of concentrated winding IPMSM are investigated according to the pole-slot combinations.

Recently, Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) is widely used in the industry applications such as power train for hybrid vehicles and compressor motors of air-conditioner due to its high power density and wide speed range. In designing motors, pole slot combination should be chosen properly according to the use of the motor and driving method in the initial design stage, accordingly there have been many researches about pole slot combination. As a part of the studies, this paper presents a comparison of characteristics of concentrated winding IPMSM, such as back-emf, Total Harmonic Distortion(THD) and core losses for each pole slot combination. By comparing the characteristics of each model, this paper can be a guide or reference in determining pole slot combination in the initial design stage.

중증도의 확장성심근증을 동반한 말단비대증 환자에서 Sandostatin LAR 치료 이후에 좌심실기능의 호전과 뇌하수체 종양의 크기의 감소를 관찰할 수 있었던 환자 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Cardiovascular disease is the most frequent cause of death in patients with acromegaly. Recently, long-term treatment with a somatostatin analogue (Sandostatin LAR) has been shown to be effective in controlling growth hormone (GH) and insulin like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) hypersecretion in most patients with acromegaly. Along with the effectiveness in the hormone profile, Sandostatin LAR has been reported to be effective for tumor mass shrinkage and clinical symptom improvement. We have encountered a female acromeglic patient with severe dilated cardiomyopathy and the patient was treated with Sandostatin LAR After treatment for 12 months, as seen by follow up echocardiography, the overall cardiac function was significantly improved. 흉통과 발열을 주소로 내원한 27세 남자 환자에서 심전도와 심초음파를 통하여 세균성 심내막염에 병발된 급성 심근 경색을 진단하였고, 심부전과 색전증의 위험성이 높아 응급 승모판 치환술 시행시 수술 시야상 관찰된 관상동맥색전 부위에 색전제거술을 시행한 예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. An acute myocardial infarction caused by a septic coronary embolism is a known complication of infective endocarditis and usually carries a fatal prognosis. We experienced a case of a 27-year-old man with an acute myocardial infarction caused by a coronary embolism due to bacterial endocarditis. An echocardiogram demonstrated mitral valve regurgitation with highly mobile multiple vegetations. Because of the high risk of systemic embolization and congestive heart failure, the patient underwent emergency surgery. Mitral valve replacement and an embolectomy were performed successfully without any surgical complications. (Korean J Med 72:85-89, 2007)

Long term results of hepatic resection for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are not satisfactory due to a high incidence of postoperative recurrence. To improve the prognosis in patients who underwent hepatic resection, identification of risk factors for recurrence and development of effective preventive strategies are required. A single nodular mass was found in the right hepatic lobe of 53-year old male with B viral cirrhosis by surveillance ultrasonography. Dynamic abdominal CT showed a 3 cm-sized hypervascular mass in the right posteroinferior segment (S6). AFP was 359 ng/mL. Child-Pugh classification was A, and ICG R15 was 18.8%. After preoperative transarterial chemoembolization (TACE), right hepatic wedge resection was performed. Resection margin was free of tumor. Microinvasions in the surrounding vessels, lymphatics, bile ducts were not found and microsatellite nodules were absent in the resected specimen. Although there were no risk factors that associated with high postoperative recurrence, multifocal intrahepatic recurrence in the right lobe and left medial lobe occurred at 7 months after hepatic resection. He underwent two sessions of TACE.

This paper deals with the cost reduction design of a single-phase line-start permanent magnet (LSPM) motor. Due to high cost of the permanent magnet (PM), cost reduction can be effectively achieved by reducing PM volume. Therefore, motor characteristics according to the PM volume are calculated by using d-q axis equivalent circuit analysis, and the characteristic map is made. In the characteristic map, maximum torque and efficiency are shown according to motor parameters such as back electromotive force (back emf) and inductances; back emf represents the PM volume. Minimum back emf and inductances satisfying output performance are determined in the characteristic map. Then, motor geometry based on the prototype motor is optimized to get the determined parameters using response surface methodology (RSM) and finite element method (FEM). Through the presented cost reduction design, total PM volume is reduced to 32% of prototype model.
