The objectives of this thesis is to provide the effective method of shape design and screw tools manufacture of the self-wiping co-rotating twin screw. The screw shape which is designed by the newly developed channel formula was compared with the shape of self-wiping type screws. The screw design program has been developed to design the shape of an extrusion screw and the cutting tool. With this program, general designers, with no particular knowledge of extrusion, can save time and make more effective design because of its ease of operation and simple menu-driven process. The new tool was designed and manufactured using the channel formula of exponent function type and the CNC machine which can be attached into the insert-type ball end mill holder.

This paper describes the development of machining simulation program which is able to design cutter profile and 3-dimensional geometry for rotors in screw compressor. Based on the symmetric rotor profiles developed previously, cutters are designed and 3-dimensional geometries of rotors are generated by using simulation program. Symmetric rotors are manufactured by a universal milling machine, and surface geometries of them are measured by a 3-dimension scanner It is shown that simulation program developed is useful to design cutter for rotor manufacturing and to generate the 3-dimensional helicoid geometry of rotor in screw compressor.
인벌류우트-圓弧 合成齒形기어의 振動 및 騷音에 關한 實驗的 硏究

In this paper the characteristics of the vibration and noise of standard involute tooth profile gear and involute-circular arc composite tooth profile gear were studies experimentally. For the first, the unwound angle [θcom= 1˚] and the radius of circular arc [α=25 mm] of composite tooth profile are determined, and then computer programs for cutting are made. Using the program, the gears are cut by the wire-cutting machine. Also the experimental equipment for the vibration measurement is built. The following results were obtained through experiment. 1.The composite tooth profile gear is less variational than the standard involute tooth profile gear in the time signal of vibration and noise amplitude. 2.The composite tooth profile gear huts smaller the amplitude of vibration and noise than the standard involute tooth profile gear. 3.The experimental fundamental natural frequencys of the gears agree well to the calculated values of the Dunkerley'a formula.
