        미용업 종사자의 감각기관 이상에 대한 자각증상과 업무와의 관련성

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the symptoms of health anomalies (sensory organs) and find out their correlation with beauty industry professionals. In order to do that, a survey was conducted targeting 470 professionals by using a questionnaire of special check-up lists which was statistically analyzed. The results are as follows: first, 27.7% of the workers in the cosmetics industry experienced abnormal health problems and 40.6% of them perceived that the anomalies were related to their work. The makeup workers among them showing the highest score. Second, in terms of skin irregularities, the results indicated that the highest degree of roughness and cracking of skin developed which was highly perceived to be related to the work. Symptoms of eye abnormalities were frequent sore, tears and vision deterioration which were also highly perceived to be related to the work. The current study is meaningful in the sense that it investigated the health problems of beauty industry workers and found out their perceptions of the relationship between the problems and their work. Therefore, the results are expected to be used as a basic data on the work environment and health management of beauty industry professionals.

        보령 머드 파우더에 존재하는 점토 광물의 미세구조적 특성

        We investigated the ultrastructure of clay minerals of Boryeong mud powder. Observation of the mud powder sample using a low-magnification scanning electron microscope showed that the powder particles were uniformly dispersed in a relatively homogeneous state, and the relatively large particles were observed in the form of crystals. Using the scanning electron microscope at high magnification of the mud powder, most of the clay mineral particles were in the form of thin plates or lobes, and some trace particles in the shape of nanometer-sized columns were observed. The crystalline mineral particles, which are relatively larger than other mineral particles, measured from 38㎛ to approximately 45㎛ in length, and had a very smooth and flat surface. These crystalline clay minerals appeared in the form of rectangles, ovals, and diamonds. In addition to the particles observed as such large crystals, most of the mineral particles measured had a major axis diameter under 15㎛.

        피부미용 서비스와 스파 서비스 고객만족을 위한 서비스 품질요인

        The current study tries to figure out how the service quality of aesthetic & spa salon affects customer satisfaction. If the factors influence meaningfully, the present study further aims to find out which factor affects more strongly and what is the order of influences. In addition, we have also compared and analyzed the aesthetic & spa salon in terms of those influencing factors. A total of 336 questionnaires were prepared for customers of an aesthetic & spa salon located in Seoul and Kyunggi. Summary of findings of this study is as follows. Analysis of aesthetic service and spa service as a whole regardless of type revealed that service specialty, materiality, empathy and responsiveness have significant impacts on customer satisfaction. Among them, materiality has the least impact. While all the factors, viz. service specialty, empathy, materiality, and responsiveness influence customer satisfaction in aesthetic & spa salon, materiality has no influence on aesthetic salon. From the results of this study, it is necessary that more consideration needs to be given on service specialty, empathy, and responsiveness for improving customer satisfaction, and accordingly, strategic management and marketing is required for improving satisfaction based on the characteristics of aesthetic and spa services.

        보령머드를 이용한 아토피 질환 개선에 관한 연구

        Objectives: Boryeong Mud includes as much mineral as in the Dead Sea. Assumption that Boryeong Mud also can improve atopy immune and skin moisturizing process has been theorized. By variously moisturizing on the dry skin layer caused by atopy, I have studied the impact on the skin state improvement. Methods: Subjects are patients who have suffered from atopy. By variously moisturizing on the dry skin layer caused by atopy, I have studied the impact on the skin state improvement. 36 subjects were applied to the mud pack twice a week for 6 weeks. Results:The average moisture figure applied to Boryeong Mud has increased from 28,75(±3,412) to 49(±7,502) after the experiment.On the other hand, the average moisture figure applied to the Dead Sea Mud has increased from 30,75(±8,447) to 48,38(±6,545). Itching has been relieved after the experiment, too. average figure was 7,78(±2.635), and the opposite group(The Dead Sea) was also 7,78(±2.635) before the experiment. However both the figure has decreased to 1,11(±2.205) and,1.67(±2.500) and the itching of all the subjects has improved enormously. Conclusion: I have made sure that Boryeong Mud can be recognized as much as the Dead Sea Salt in that it can contain enough ingredients and can be produced specially according to various skin type. It can also be applied as a basic datum in esthetic field program.

        뷰티산업 종사자의 근무환경 분석 및 인력수급 전망

        This study was conducted to 370 beauty-industry employees from 7 metro cities: Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Gwangju, Daegu, Pusan, Ulsan to foresee manpower supply and demand of beauty industry and to promote development future measurements. The 370 participants of the study were given structured survey regarding their working environment and forms of employment. Regarding working environment, daily average working hours in particular, majority of 34.4% participants answered that they work over 10 hours a day, which exceeds legal 8 hours/day as stated in the Labor Standard Act. Moreover, 56.1% of participants had answered that in a month they have 4 daysoff, which shows that large number of workers work more than 6 days weekly. The study showed 48% of participants signed employment contract at the time of employment, and 57.6% had no formal agreement on pension, thus are not subject to Labor Standard Act. Surveys on 4 social insurance shows join ratio of 50.8% in National Pension, 52.5% in Health Insurance, 47.8% in Unemployment Insurance, 48.7% in Occupational Health and Safety Insurance. On prospect of manpower supply and demand of beauty industry, 43.1% increase of 253,391 in 2015 from 177,062 in 1997. Beauty industry demographics based on the new supply of manpower, is expected to grow by 37.1% from high school, 14.4% from university undergraduate, 17.5% from university graduate, 32.3% in graduate school. The prediction showed although the growth is expected to slow down between the university graduates, rapid growth is expected within high school and graduate school. This raises stronger emphasis on need for advanced and specialized human resources management system.

        고전머리와 고전머리장식에 대한 인지도 및 현대화 작업의 필요성

        This study set a survey targeting 258 of adults with diversity to inquiry the awareness of classic hair and accessories and the necessity of the modernization task. The results are followed: People`s interests and knowledge about the classic hair was low; however, 86.7% of respondents have seen the hair and the experience were reached through TV. Also, 79.5% of respondents have never worn it before and they showed low interests towards the classic-hair accessories. 76.7% emphasized the needs for the modernization task and 71.6% had intention to try the modernized classic hair. When the people were asked to give opinions about the modernization task of classic hair, they showed similar views such as 94.9% of ‘the classic hair has promotion effects of Korean beauty’, 91.4% of ‘professional education for classic hair is needed’ and 91.9% of ‘accessories for the classic hair needs modernization’. From this study, we could find about people`s awareness, interests, and intention to use the classic hair and accessories. Since the classic hair and the accessories have not exposed to the public much, people had less opportunity to have interests and the popularization did not happened much yet. If the classic hair and accessories become known among public and modernized for easier use, it will contribute to developing hair styles and introducing Korean beauty. In later study, we will need to study further on more detailed modernization process and more PR measures.
