This study deals with a project model proposed for the urban regeneration of Keumchang Dong Village in Incheon. After lifting the redevelopment district designation plan, large obsolete and low-rise housing areas have been subdivided toward the regeneration of small scale villages. While doing so, some areas have been isolated and neglected causing the villages to be socially depressed and physically deteriorated. With the villager participations, this study intends to suggest some basic methods towards the village improvement.

Urban regeneration projects are projects that provide vitality to the community by readjusting the residential environment of the decayed old city center and revitalizing the community of residents. Urban Regeneration projects are mainly planned under the initiative of the administration and are carried out in a structure in which local governments implement them. However, for sustainable regional revitalization, residents" understanding of and active participation in the project is inevitable. In this study, we want to identify the importance and problems of residents" participation in urban regeneration projects, and apply the CLEAR model in the U.K. to the actual cases of urban regeneration projects in Korea in phases to present effective measures for residents" participation.

Transplantation is considered to be a very useful approach to improve human welfare and to prolong life-span. Heterologous organ transplantation using pig organs which are similar to human beings and easy to make mass-production has known as one of the alternatives. To ensure potential usage of the pig organ for transplantation application, it is essentially required to generate transgenic pig modifying immuno-related genes. Previously, we reported production of heterozygous ${\alpha}1,3$-galactosyltransferase (GalT) knock-out and human membrane cofactor protein (MCP) expressing pig ($GalT^{-MCP/+}$), which is enforced for suppression of hyperacute and acute immunological rejection. In this study, we reported generation of homozygous pig ($GalT^{-MCP/-MCP}$) by crossbreeding $GalT^{-MCP/+}$ pigs. Two female founders gave birth to six of $GalT^{-MCP/-MCP}$, and seven $GalT^{-MCP/+}$ pigs. We performed quantitative real-time PCR, western blot, and flow cytometry analyses to confirm GalT and MCP expression. We showed that fibroblasts of the $GalT^{-MCP/-MCP}$ pig do not express GalT and its product Gal antigen, while efficiently express MCP. We also showed no expression of GalT, otherwise expression of MCP at heart, kidney, liver and pancreas of transgenic pig. Taken together, we suggest that the $GalT^{-MCP/-MCP}$ pig is a useful candidate to apply xenotransplantation study.
한국 한려해상국립공원 서부 조간대 저서다모류 동물상 연구

본 연구는 한려해상국립공원(서부) 경성조간대와 연성조간대의 저서성 다모류에 대한 종류상, 분포상 그리고 군집구조를 파악하기 위해 2020년에 조사를 시행하였다. 저서다모류의 출현종수는 6목28과121종, 개체밀도는 188.8개체/㎡로 확인되었다. 경성기질에서는 굵은석회관갯지렁이(28.4%), 연성기질에서는 얼굴갯지렁이류(20.9%)가 우점하는 것으로 확인되었다. 전체정점에 대한 우점도는 0.21, 다양도는 3.38 그리고 종풍부도는 22.90으로 확인되었다. 다양한 생태지수를 고려해 보면, 남해대교지구(st. 5, 6)에 비해 사천지구(st. 1, 3)와 상주·금산지구(st. 7, 8)의 다모류 군집이 생태학적으로 안정하다는 것을 알 수 있다. 출현종과 개체밀도에 따른 집괴분석 결과는 생태기질의 종류에 따라 조사정점들이 묶이는 것을 확인하였다. 고착성으로 알려진 다모류 군집이 생태기질에 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 보인다. This study was carried out to investigate the species composition, distribution, and community structure of benthic polychaetes in the western intertidal zones of Hallyeohaesang National Park in 2020. The total number of benthic polychaetes was 121 species of 28 families in 6 orders. The mean density of community was 188.9 individual/m2. The major dominant species was Spirobranchus cf. kraussii (Baird, 1864) (28.4%) in the hard substrate, and Aonides aff. oxycephala (Sars, 1862) (20.9%) in the soft substrate. The biodiversity index and richness index for all sites were calculated as 3.38 and 22.90, respectively. Considering the various ecological indices, the polychaete communities of Sacheon district (st. 1, 3) and Sangju-Geumsan district (st. 7, 8) are more ecologically stable than those of Namhae Bridge district (st. 5, 6). From the cluster analysis based on the species composition and population density, study sites were grouped into ecological clades according to the type of ecological substrates. It seems that the polychaete communities are highly influenced by ecological substrates.
