A Predictive Model for Farmland Purchase/Rent Using Random Forests

This study contributes to guidance for understanding farmland purchase and rent decisions in Korea via an analysis using a machine learning tool, Random Forests: A Supervised Machine Learning Algorithm. Farm Household Economy Survey is employed to predict the relationship between farmland acquisition and farm household economic characteristics. Our main findings are two folds. First, a farmland purchase decision is positively related to transfer incomes, the value of inventory & fixed assets, and the value of farmland that farmers owned. Second, a farmland rent decision is also positively associated with a rent paid in a prior year, revenue from field crops, inventory and agricultural assets, and transfer incomes.

In accordance with the USCG type approval procedure, a fixed CO2 fire-extinguishing system is mounted on a ship after obtaining type approval. For it to pass the vibration test for type approval, an appropriate vibration resistance design is required. In this study, we analyzed the severity of the vibration test standard UL2127 and developed a modularized test method for USCG type approval. Based on the proposed test method, the vibration response characteristics of each module were evaluated with three-axis vibration test machines. In the case of the cylinder module, damage was caused by excessive vibrations due to resonance, which can be mitigated by changing the rigidity of the boundary structure and shifting the natural frequency out of the frequency range of interest.

A new approach to postoptimality analyses of the transportation problems has been developed using the dummy points. In contrast to the usual sensitivity analysis the proposed methods allow for simultaneous or independent change of the supplies or demands while preserving the current optimal basis. Therefore this method will enable resource allocation to be more economical.
대학생의 성장기 부모화 경험과 우울증상의 관계에서 정서표현 양가성의 매개효과

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of ambivalence over emotional expressiveness between childhood parentification and depressive symptoms. The subjects of this study were 411 university students located in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The measurement scales used were Filial Responsibility Scale-Adult (FRS-A), the Center for Epidemiologic Studies for depression scale (CES-D), Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire (AEQ-K). The results are as follows:There were significant positive correlations among childhood parentification, ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and depressive symptoms. Furthermore, In the verification of the mediating effects, they turned out the ambivalence over emotional expressiveness had partial mediating effects between childhood parentification and depressive symptoms. This study confirmed the childhood parentification and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness to explain depressive symptoms. 본 연구는 대학생의 성장기 부모화 경험의 각 하위요인이 우울증상에 미치는 영향에서 정서표현 양가성의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 및 경기 소재 대학교에 재학 중인 대학생 450명을 대상으로 2017년 6월부터 9월까지 약 3달간에 걸쳐 설문지를 배부하였으며, 회수된 설문지 가운데 무응답 및 자료로 이용하기에 부적절한 질문지를 제외한 총 411부를 분석 자료로 활용하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴봤을 때, 정서적 부모화, 물리적 부모화, 불공평은 각각 정서표현양가성과 우울 증상에 정적 상관을 보였고, 정서표현 양가성과 우울증상 또한 정적상관을 보였다. 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 대학생의 성장기 부모화 경험의 하위요인인 정서적 부모화, 물리적 부모화, 불공평은 모두 정서표현 양가성을 부분 매개로 하여 우울증상을 유의하게 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대학생의 성장기 부모화 경험과 우울 증상의 관계에서 정서표현 양가성이 중요한 역할을 함을 시사한다. 이와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 본연구의 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to present a method for determining the k most vital arcs in the maximum flow problem using genetic algorithms. Generally, the problem which determine the k most vital arcs in maximum flow problem has known as NP-hard. Therefore, in this study we propose a method for determining all the k most vital arcs in maximum flow problem using a genetic algorithm and a revised genetic algorithm. First, we propose genetic algorithm to find the k most vital arcs removed at the same time then present the expression and determination method of individuals compatible with the characteristics of the problem, and specify the genetic parameter values of constitution, population size, crossover rate, mutation rate and etc. of the initial population which makes detecting efficiency better. Finally, using the proposed algorithm, we analyzed the performance of searching optimal solution through computer experiment. The proposed algorithms found all alternatives within shorter time than other heuristic methods. The method presented in this study can determine all the alternatives when there exists other alternative solutions.
