      • Methanethiol이 흰쥐의 赤血球 形態에 미치는 영향

        This study was designed to investigate effects on methanethiol-treated of rats erythrocyte morphology and on the erythrocyte fragility. The methanethiol was given at 7.5㎎/100g body weight, and after 72hrs, the animals were sacrified, The apply of 0.02㎖ of rats whole blood to the 0.30% of NaCl solution showed the complete hemolysis, but control group showed the complate hemolysis at the 0.15% of NaCl solution. The RBC count, hemoglobin, hematocrit value, MCV and MCH of erythrocyte in methanethiol-treated rats were more increased than those in the control group, exept MCV value. The WBC, Differential count in methanethiol-treated rats were more decresed than those in the control group, but neutrophil increased on differential count than those in the control groups, but the number of neutrophil was increased than those of the control groups.

        MCV률 이용한 번혈의 형태학적 분류에 대한 고찰 (대구보건대학 엄상병려과 재학생을 중심으로)

        The anemia is functionally best characterized by a hemoglobin concentration below normal. Anemia is a disorder in which the patient suffers from tissue hypoxia, the consequence of a low oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. The most classical studies of blood cell counting and morphologic observation were used to chamber count and microscopy, and useful indices such as MCV, MCH MCHC to diagnosis about several red cell disorders. The two common methods of classification of anemia are morphologic and according to pathophysiologic cause. In the morphologic classification, anemia is subdivided into three large groups according to blood counts, cell indices, particularly MCV. Anemia are classified in to the three morphologic groups on the basis of the MCV, and may also be classified by MeV and RDW. The pathophysiologic cause classification of anemia relates the disease process to the current concept of the two mechanisms or causes of anemia : anemia caused by decreased ROC production and by increased ROC destruction or loss. Subjects consist to take part in spontaneous of 225 students department of clinical pathology, Taegu Health Collage from sep., 1. 1007 to sep., 11. 1007. Coulter Counter Gen-S was used for CBC. The results were as fellows; 1. Hemoglobin levels below than normal : 2.27% in male, 11.60% in female. 2. In the most of anemia, the decreased of MCV, MCH, and MCHC, But increased the val-ues of RDW. 3. The diseases that disclosed low MCV and high RDW(microcytic heterogenous) to concl-ude Iron deficiency anemia by inappropriate diet of students.

        단백식이 조건을 달리하여 성장한 흰쥐에 Methanethiol 투여가 간기능에 미치는 영향

        식이성단백이 methanethiol에 의한 간기능에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 검토코자 흰쥐를 저단백식이 (LP ; casein 7%) 및 고단백식이 (HP ; casein 20%)로 1개월간 성장시킨 뒤 methanethiol을 투여한 다음, 간무게, 혈청 ALT 활성을 측정하여 간기능 정도를 두 군간에 비교하였다. 동시에 이에 대한 원인을 규명하는 일환으로 간조직 중 glutahione함량과 glutathione포합효소의 일종인 glutathione S-transferase (GST)활성을 측정하여 다음과 같은 실험결과를 얻었다. Methanethiol 투여로 인한 대조군에 대한 간무게와 혈청 ALT활성 증가율은 LP군이 HP군보다 높았으며, 간 glutathione함량과 간 GST활성이 HP군 보다 LP군이 낮게 나타났다. 이상 성적을 종합해 볼 때 methanethiol에 의한 간 독성은 식이 중 단백함량감소에 비례해서 증가되며 이는 LP군이 HP군 보다 methanethiol해독에 관여하는 간 glutathione함량과 GST활성의 감소에 기인되기 때문인 것으로 생각된다. To evaluate an effect of dietary protein on the intoxication of methanethiol in rats, the methanethiol was intraperitoneally injected to the rats fed a low or high protein diet and then the liver weight per body weight and seurm levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) activities were determined to investigate the differences in liver damage between the animal groups fed low protein died and that fed high protein diet. On the other hand, the hepatic glutathione content and its conjugating enzyme, glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity were determined to clarify the cause of difference in liver function between the two groups. The increasing rate of liver weight/body wt., serum levels of ALT to its control group were higher in methanethiol-treated rats fed low protein diet than those fed high protein diet. The hepatic content of glutathione and GST activity were higher in rats fed high protein diet than those fed low protein diet and the decreasing rate of hepatic glutathione content to its control group was higher in rats fed low protein diet than those fed high protein diet. Furthermore, the hepatic GST activity in methanethiol-treated rats was higher in rats fed high protein diet than those fed low protein diet. In case of control group, the GST activity was also higher in rats fed high protein diet than those fed low protein diet.

        Effect of Methanethiol on the Xanthine Oxidase Activity of Liver and Serum in Rats

        Methanethiol을 흰쥐에 투여시 혈청중 alanine aminotransferase 활성이 대조군 보다 약 3배의 유의한 증가를 보였으며, 이때 간 및 혈청중 xanthine oxidase 활성은 감소되는 경향을 보였다. 또한 간효소액과 methanethiol의 혼액을 37℃에서 preincuabation 시킨후 in vitro에서 xanthine oxidase활성을 측정 하였을때 본 효소의 활성이 억제됨과 동시에 기질인 xanthine의 량을 변화 시켜가면서 관찰한 kinetic 실험에서도 대조 시험에 비하여 Km치가 높게 나타났다. To evaluate the effect of methanethiol on the activity of xanthine oxidase in both liver and serum, the rats intraperitoneally received methanethiol. Injection of methanethiol in rats showed the more decreased xanthine oxidase activity of both liver and serum than that of the control group. Concomitantly, the xanthine oxidase activity in livers preincubated with methanethiol was decreased in vitro. The xanthine oxidase in livers preincubated with the methanethiol also showed more increased Km and similar Vmax value than those of the control. These results suggest that the methanethiol may induce a change in substrate binding affinity of xanthine oxidase.

      • 건강 성인의 망상적혈구 및 미성숙 망상적혈구 분획의 참고치에 대한 고찰

        1998년 3월부터 1998년 12월까지 본원 건강검진자중 어떤 질환도 앓고 있지 않은 건강 성인으로 판정된 467명(남 : 229명, 여 : 238 명)을 대상으로 Coulter Counter Model GEN-S를 이용하여 얻은 망상적혈구 및 망상적혈구와 관련된 지수의 참고범위는 다음과 같다. 1. 망상적혈구수는 0.75~2.88%(남 : 0.78~2.50%. 여 : 0.68~3.20%) 이었다. 2. 평균 망상적혈구 용적은 104.3~138.3 fl(남 : 105.8~139.8 fl, 여 103.1~136.3 fl) 3. 미성숙 망상적혈구 분획은 0.11-0.39 (남 : 0.16~0.40, 여 : 0.11~0.38) 이었다. 4. HLR은 0.18~0.79%(남 : 0.18~0.79%, 여 : 0.17~0.76%) 이었다. To establish the reticulocyte and IRF(Immature Reticulocyte Fraction) reference values in healthy adult population, we measured the reticulocyte count, MRV(Mean Reticulocyte Volume), IRF, HLR(High Light Scatter Reticulocyte), RBC and MCV, determined by Coulter Counter model GEN-S in 467 (M : 229, F : 238) persons. The results were summarized as follows : 1. Reference value of Reticulocyte count: 0.75~2.88% (Male : 0.78~2.50%, Female : 0.68~3.20%). 2.       • 흰쥐에 Methanethiol 투여가 순환 혈액에 미치는 영향

        This study was designed to investigate effects on the morphology and the osmotic fragility of the methanethiol-treated of rats. The 7.5㎎ methanethiol was given to each rat per 100g body weight, and after 72hrs, the animals were sacrified. The apply of 0.02㎖ of rats whole blood to the 0.30% of NaCl solution showed complete hemolysis, but control groups showed complete hemolysis at the 0.15% of NaCl solution. The RBC count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and MCH, and spleen weight per body weight of the methanethiol-treated rats were increased than those in the control groups, but the MCV was decreased. The WBC count and differential count of the methanethiol-treated rats were re decresed than those in the control groups, but the number of neutrophil was increased than those of the control groups. The spleen weight per body weight in methanethiol-treated rats were more increesed than those in the control group. These results suggest that the methanethiol may incluced the damage of rat's spleen and caused by increased destruction of erythrocytes.

      • 男性尿路에서 複數菌感染에 關한 硏究

        Auther have studied on polymicrobial infection of urinary tract with man. The results of urine culture in 1984, Jan. and 1985, Dec. are analyzed according to single and mixed infection. 1. The number of bacteriuriuria are 224(56.7%) among the total 395 specimens and single infection are 194(86.6%), and mixed infection are 30(13.4%). The most prevalent bateria of single infection are E. coli 125(64.4%) and those of mixed infection are E. coli and proteus 11(36.7%).

        An experiment was made to detech the presence of Trichomons vaginalis in 89 patients with lower urinary tract infection. Microscopic examination and cultvation of sediments of urine and prostatic secretion. 1, Trichomonas vaginalis was demonstrated in 7.9% of the lower urinary tract infected group. 2, Motile T. vaginalis were found in 28.6% through microscopic examination and additionally 42.9% by cultivation in urine. 3, Motile T. vaginalis was not found through microscopic examination but additionally in 28.6% by cultivation in prostatic secretion.

        Iron deficiency is the state in which the content of iron in the body is less than normal. It is characterized by decrease of absent iron stores, low serum iron concentration, low transferrin saturation, and low hemoglobin concentration or hematocrit value. Iron deficiency anemia is a more advanced state of iron deficiency than is iron depletion. Iron deficiency may occur as a result of inadequate dietary iron intake, malabsortion of iron, chronic blood loss, diversion of iron to fetal and infant erythropoiesis during pregnancy and lactation, intravascular hemolysis with hemoglobinuria, several infestation of ancylostomiasis, or a combination of these factors.

      • 만성 전립선염의 전립선액과 정액배양 소견에 대한 고찰

        The chronic prostatitis is the most common infectious disease in the urinary tract in male, it is confusing us to diagnose. It is usually diagnosed by history, urinalysis, rectal palpation, and wet smear of prostatic secration. But sometimes these findings are not identical to the true condition of patients 72 patients suspected of chronic prostatitis were studied by cultures of prostatic secretion and semen. And they compared to each other. The results were as follows. 1. Semen cultures, in 10 cases of control group showed positive findings in one case. It is a Staphylococcus epidermidis, but the colony counts was less than 100. 2. The positive findings on prostatic secretion culture were 53 cases (73.6%) and on semen culture were 45 cases (62.5%). 3. Although there is no evidenece the semen culture is superior to the prostatic secretion culture for diagnosis of chronic prostatitis, it is more useful in the patient who my have on acute exacervation of chronic prostatitis, the patient whose prostatic juice can't be obtined by masage, and the patient who can't endure pain because of rectal pathology such as anal fissure or sever hemorrhoid.
