In this study, the analysis on the distribution of indoor airflow velocity and temperature by using numerical simulation has carried out to make fundamental data for establishing the optimum design of laboratory animal facilities. From the results, it was found that replacement of cage lacks, air supply and exhaust system, supply air temperature, supply air velocity affect to the optimum design of laboratory animal facilities as a important element.

After analyzing the characteristics of the cooling dryer, the mixed cooling dryer was developed by adding the desiccant dryer which supplement the cooling dryer's demerits. Also, the hybrid desiccant cooling dryer was developed to use effectively the exhaust heat energy of the cooling dryer. It could make a more that 20 percent reduction in energy compared with the mixed desiccant cooling dryer. It has become essential to supply this equipment and search the suitable drying product.

Building energy efficiency rating system about the feild of building occupying 25% of total energy consumption has been implemented in order to meet the convention of energy saving and climate change in Korea. In particular, the electricity consumption in summer get bigger by the increase of the air-conditioners at the apartment occupying 41.4% of the residential facility types. Meanwhile, it is possible to get the certification without the information of cooling machines for the Building Energy Efficiency Rating. Otherwise, it must be included in terms of the certificaiton in the case of the construction company. In this case, even though the primary energy requirement is increased, the criteria of rating is applied eually regardless of air-conditoner. Installation of air-conditioners by consturction companies will be suggested strongly for the residents" comfort and easy construction. Therefore, this paper analyze the effect of air-conditioners for Building Energy Efficiency Rating.

The Desiccant air conditioning system has been designed as the industrial dehumidifier under the leadership of developed countries, considering CFC problems in 1990, indoor air quality(IAQ) and outdoor air intake rates. This could make the technical differences between them and us. Nowadays, domestic technology has been developed in some parts but there still remain many challenges to be managed. In this study, these tasks would be handled according to the desiccant air conditioning system market and prospects.

The fourth drying test of sliced radish 98.06 kg has been carried out by the manual operation with a dehumidifying operation, circulation fan operation and tempering operation(dehumidifying +circulation fan) of the heat pump desiccant dryer. It took 33 hours totally, 17 hours dehumidification and 16 hours circulation fan. As a result, coefficient of dehumidification could be 0.90 kg/kWh excellently. By analyzing this properly, the optimal condition would be applied in an automatic operation.

The chestnut shell was dried by two systems; the heat-pump cooling dryer and the hybrid desiccant dryer. We have confirmed two things: The fast drying rate will affect a good chestnut quality and A hybrid desiccant dryer is effective for the process of chestnut peeling and the product method.

Hybrid desiccant cooling system(HDCS) consists of desiccant rotor, regenerative evaporative cooler, heat pump and district heating hot water coil. In this study, TRNSYS and EES, dynamic and steady simulation programs were used for studying hybrid desiccant cooling system which is applied to an apartment house from June to August. The results show that power consumption of the hybrid desiccant cooling system is 70 ㎾h in June, 199 ㎾h in July and 241 ㎾h in August. Sensible and latent heats removed by the hybrid desiccant cooling system are 300 ㎾h, 301 ㎾h in June, 610 ㎾h, 858 ㎾h in July and 719 ㎾h, 1010 ㎾h in August. COP of the hybrid desiccant cooling system is 8.6 in June, 7.4 in July and 7.2 in August. COP of the hybrid desiccant cooling system decreases when latent heat load increases. Operation time of the system is 70 hours in June, 190 hours in July and 229 hours in August. Since the cooling load is largest in August, the operation time of August is longest for maintaining the indoor temperature at 26℃. Due to the characteristics of hybrid desiccant cooling system for efficiently handling both sensible and latent loads, this system can handle sensible and latent heat loads efficiently in summer.
