지네지누아리는 일년 내내 엽상체를 유지하는 다년생 홍조류이다. 6월 바다 이식 실험에서 늦봄에 급격한 생장 후에 여름에 엽체가 사그라져 길이가 감소한다. 여름기간에 구엽과 신엽이 나오는 이행 부분에서 세포 모양과 크기를 기준으로 재생 특성을 분석하였다. 지누아리의 전장은 7월에 88.1㎜(±6.7, SE), 8월에 90.7㎜(±13.1, SE), 9월에 127.2㎜(±16.2, SE)로 나타났다. 엽체 전체 길이에 대한 구엽 비율은 37.6%(±14.1, SE), 신엽은 62.4%(±14.1, SE)였다. 엽체가 쇠퇴하는 여름에도 전장이 늘어나는 것은 신엽의 성장을 의미한다. 엽체 표층세포 두께는 구엽이 26.5㎛(±1.7, SE)로 신엽 12.0㎛(±0.6, SE)에 비해 2배 이상 두꺼웠다. 표피층 수는 구엽이 4층, 신엽이 3층을 보였다. 피층세포 크기는 구엽이 6.0㎛(±0.3, SE), 신엽이 3.6㎛(±0.2, SE)으로 나타났다. 수층세포는 구엽이 38.9㎛(±3.2, SE)로 길고 가는 형태, 신엽은 12.6㎛(±0.5, SE)로 짧은 타원형을 보였다. 지네지누아리 계절성장 패턴은 늦은 봄에 급속한 성장 기간을 거쳐 여름에 성장이 둔화된다. 이때에 구엽은 여름철에 길이가 짧아지고, 신엽이 활발하게 형성된다. 이 패턴은 신엽과 구엽 사이에 이행역을 형성하여 다른 성장 계절의 엽상부를 쉽게 구별할 수 있다. Grateloupia asiatica is a perennial red algae that retains its blade year-round. In the sea transplantation experiment in June, after rapid growth in late spring, the blades fade in summer and the length decreases. The regeneration characteristics were analyzed based on the cell shape and size of the transitional part where old and new blades appeared during summer. The total length of G. asiatica was 88.1mm(±6.7, SE) in July, 90.7mm(±13.1, SE) in August, and 127.2mm(±16.2, SE) in September. The ratio of the old blade to the total length of the blade was 37.6%(±14.1, SE), and that of the new blade was 62.4%(±14.1, SE). The lengthening of the overall length even in the summer when the blade declines means the growth of new blades. The thickness of the surface layer cells of the old blade was 26.5㎛ (±1.7, SE), which was more than twice that of the new blade 12.0㎛ (±0.6, SE). As for the number of epidermis layers, the old blade had 4 layers and the new blade had 3 layers. The cortical cell size was 6.0㎛ (±0.3, SE) in the old blade and 3.6㎛ (±0.2, SE) in the new blade. In the medullary cells, the old blade was 38.9㎛ (±3.2, SE) long and thin, and the new blade was 12.6㎛ (±0.5, SE) and had a short oval shape. Seasonal growth pattern of G. asiatica goes through periods of rapid growth in the late spring, followed by stunted appearance growth in summer. At this time, the length of the old blade is shortened in summer, and the new blade is actively formed. This pattern forms a transition zone between the new and old blade, making it easy to distinguish blades from different growing seasons.
