Edge Computing enables image-based inference in close proximity to end users and real-world objects. However, since edge servers have limited computational and accelerator resources, efficient resource management is essential. In this paper, we present HeteroAccel system that performs optimal scheduling in Kubernetes platform based on available node and accelerator information for various inference requests. Our experiments showed 25.3% improvement in overall inference performance over the default scheduling scheme in edge computing environment in which four types of inference services are requested.
구강악안면 결손부 재건에 사용한 유리피판 재건술 164증례의 임상성적 및 합병증 분석

Purpose: Free flap reconstruction is performed on defects including benign and malignant tumors as well as trauma in the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, but there are few reports of free flap reconstruction cases for oral cancer in patients in Korea. Methods: This study was designed to retrospectively analyze surgical outcomes and complications of 164 free-flap reconstructions performed at the Oral Oncology Clinic, National Cancer Center, during 2002~2011. A total of 164 free flaps were performed for reconstruction of oral and maxillofacial defects which were caused by oral cancer and osteoradionecrosis in 155 patients. Results: The present study had 162 successful cases and 2 failed cases for a total of 164 cases. The study had a success rate of 98.8% for free-flap reconstructions. Flap donor sites included radial forearm free flap (n=93), fibula osteocutaneous free flap (n=25), anterolateral thigh flap (n=18), latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap (n=16) and other locations (n=12). Postoperative medical complications were generally pneumonia and delirium. Postoperative local complications occurred including partial flap necrosis, delayed wound healing of the donor site, infection of the recipient site and salivary fistula. The incidence of postoperative complications and patient-related characteristics including age, sex, smoking, history of radiotherapy, hypertension (HTN) and diabetes Mellitus (DM) were retrospectively analyzed. Patient age ($P$=0.003) and DM ($P$=0.000) and HTN ($P$=0.021) were significant risk factors for complications overall. Conclusion: The present study had no mortality and confirms that free-flap reconstructions are extremely reliable in achieving successful results.
Nonstoichiometry에 의한 Nb-doped $SrTiO_3$의 계면 이동과 유전 성질

The solid/liquid interface migration in Nb-doped $SrTiO_3$ and its effect on dielectric properties have been investigated. The specimen sintered in air shows no migration during oxide infiltration treatment in air, whereas the specimen sintered in $5H_2-95N_2$ shows appreciable migration during similar infiltration. In the migrated layers of the specimen sintered in a reducing atmosphere, no cations of the infiltrants are detected by wavelength dispersive spectroscopy. These results show that nonstoichiometry due to the atmosphere change can induce the interface migration as in the case of frequently observed migrations due to solute concentration change. The driving force for the migration is discussed in terms of the coherency strain energy in a thin diffusional oxidized layer of the receding grain. The interface migration caused by nonstoichiometry could be suppressed by preoxidizing grain surfaces before oxide infiltration treatment. The suppression of migration increased the effective dielectric constant of the material.

이 글은 민주화 이후 보수정부로 간주되는 노태우, 김영삼, 이명박 정부의 대북 인식과 정책을 비교 분석했다. 노태우 정부는 냉전 종식을 기반으로 남북기본합의서라는 남북 정부 간 최초의 공식 합의를 이끌어냈다. 노태우 정부는 비록 보수 정부였지만 민족 중심적 시각을 견지했기 때문에 이것이 가능했다. 그러나 후임 김영삼 정부는 초기에는 민족 중심적 시각에서 대북정책을 전개했지만 북한의 핵 개발과 김일성 주석의 사망을 계기로 다시 권위주의 시기의 적대적인 대북정책으로 회귀했다. 10년 후 등장한 이명박 정부는 국가 중심적 시각에서 전임 김대중, 노무현 정부의 대북화해정책에 반대했고 '상생ㆍ공영의 정책'이라는 적대적 대북정책을 전개했다. 또한 북한이 핵, 미사일을 개발하고 남북 간의 무력충돌이 발발하자 이명박 정부는 더욱 강경한 대북정책을 전개했다. 이렇게 같은 보수정부였지만 민주화 이후 세 정부의 대북인식과 정책은 상이한 모습을 띠었다. 이는 국제정세를 포함하여 각 정부가 처한 시대적 환경과 북한의 대응에 기인한 것이지만 지도자의 대북인식과 그에 따른 정책적 판단 역시 상당히 중요하다는 사실을 보여준다. 결국 이상의 고찰을 통해 우리는 남북관계의 개선에는 북한에 대한 적대적 인식과 대결 정책보다 대화와 타협을 통한 상호신뢰 구축이 보다 필요하다는 교훈을 얻을 수 있다. This article analyzes and compares three "conservative" post-democratization South Korean governments' attitudes and policies towards the North. The Roh Tae-woo government achieved the first official agreement between the South and North, called "the South-North Basic Agreement" in the midst of a post-Cold War environment. Although conservative, the Roh Tae-woo government was able to accomplish this because it maintained a nation-centered perspective towards the South-North relationship. The Kim Young-sam government adopted the same nation-centered policies towards the North in the beginning. However, it returned to more antagonistic policies of the pre-democratization authoritarian regimes when the North began developing its nuclear program and North Korea 's leader at the time. Kim II-sung, died. From the very outset, the Lee Myung-bak government opposed the reconciliation-centered policies of his predecessors, Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun, and adopted antagonistic policies towards the North under the banner of a "Policy of Mutual Benefits and Common Prosperity." These antagonistic policies intensified after the North developed nuclear missiles and armed conflicts between the South and the North began again. In summary, although the above three post- democratization governments were all essentially conservative in nature. the particulars of each of their policies towards the North were very different. This was primarily due to the international climate at the time as well as the policies of North Korea. Additionally, South Korean presidents' attitudes played an important role in their governments' different approaches and policies. This study also suggests that policies of dialogue and reconciliation rather than those of antagonism and confrontation can contribute better to building trust and improved relations between both parties.
