In this study. The forming behavior of Tailor welded HS and IF steel S-rail stamping is analyzed by experiments. According to the results. Blank holding force in the formed part is most important to prevent springback. Twist angle and wrinkle formation. The S-rail must have good characteristic of energy absorbing for reducing the severe deformation of passenger compartment. For that purpose. TWB IFHS and HSIF model were calculated by finite element method. In these results. IFHS model absored more energy then that HSIF model.<br/>

Winding simulation for first coiling of filament wires were conducted to establish manufacturing technologies of tungsten filaments for automotive lighting. Natural frequencies and natural modes of rotational axis at 36,000 revolution/minute were calculated to avoid resonance. First coiling process was modeled by nonlinear contact problem and the finite element method was used to solved this problem and consider parameters on manufacturing processes. It is important to maintain equal pitch for continuous filament wires because life time of lighting depends on uniform pitch.

Applications of TWB(Tailor Welded Blanks) in automobile manufacturing have been developed since 1980s for both weight reduction and cost benefits. In this study, the automobile subframe applying mash-seam welded blanks was designed to remove reinforcements that were necessary in conventional subframe. For the design of mash-seam welded subframe, the characteristics of both the conventional subframe and the mash-seam welded subframe were analysed by crash and forming analysis. With these results of analyses, the prototype of automobile subframe was produced.<br/>
