Objective : This study was aimed to investigate the effective treatment for patients with thoracic outlet syndrome. Method : This study was carried out to established the clinical criteria of thoracic outlet syndrome. We collected and analyzed the data of patients had come to the GyeonWoo Oriental Medical Clinic after traffic accidents from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011. The patients with thoracic outlet syndrome were treated with acupuncture, chuna therapy for 4 weeks. Visual Analog Scale(V.A.S.) was used as the tools determining the effects of oriental medical treatment on neck pain. Result : The treatment of Korean Medicine(KM) including acupuncture, chuna therapy decreased V.A.S. significantly. Conclusion : Acupuncture, chuna therapy were useful treatment for relieving the hand paresthesia due to thoracic outlet syndrome.
일엽추 추출물이 RANKL 유도 RAW264.7 Cell의 유전자 발현에 미치는 영향

Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the effect of Securinega suffructicosa Rehder (SS) on osteoclast differentiation and gene expression. Methods : The osteoclastogenesis and gene expression were determined in RANKL-stimulated RAW 264.7. The results were summarized as followes. Results : SS decreased the number of TRAP positive cell in RANKL-stimulated RAW264.7 cell. SS decreased the expression of RANK, TNF${\alpha}$, and IL-6 in RANKL-stimulated RAW264.7 cell. SS decreased the expression of iNOS and COX-2 in RANKL-stimulated RAW264.7 cell. SS decreased the expression of Cathepsin K in RANKL-stimulated RAW264.7 cell. Conclusions : It is concluded that SS might decrease the bone resorption resulted from decrease of osteoclast differentiation and it's related gene expression.

The defense industry has become a global industry, and military technology is actively being traded between countries to increase their military capabilities. The Republic of Korea has been ranked one of the top 10 countries for exports of military technology. To maintain competitive advantages in the global defense industry, it is essential to protect key technologies employed by exported weapon systems. Various techniques have been developed for protection of confidential technologies in weapon systems, and the U.S. DoD has been leading the development of the protection techniques. This paper reviews current anti-tampering techniques that prevent leakage of key technology from weapon exportation or pillage. Based on the protection techniques employed by the U.S. DoD Anti-Tamper Executive Agent, this paper suggests novel design methods for protection of confidential technologies. The proposed design methods were tested on an actual weapon system.
GDI 엔진의 냉각수온에 따른 연소성능 및 입자상 물질 배출 특성

본 논문에서는 GDI 엔진의 냉각수 온도에 따른 연소 및 배출가스 특성을 연구하였다. 엔진에서 나오는 입자상 물질의 수와 크기 분포는 DMS-500 장비로 측정하였다. 배기포트 에 장착된 CLD-400 과 HFR-400 을 통해 NOx 및 THC 의 배출 특성을 연소주기 별로 측정하였다. 결과적으로 낮은 냉각수온에서 5~10 ㎚ 의 입자상 물질이 크게 증가하는 특성을 보였다. THC 또한 낮은 냉각수온에서 증가하는 특성을 보였는데 이는 연소실 내 연료의 액막현상 때문이다. 그리고 NOx 는 높은 냉각수온에서 감소하는 특성을 보였는데 이는 내부 EGR 이 증가하기 때문이다. 결론적으로 THC 와 NOx 그리고 입자상 물질의 배출을 줄이기 위해서는 냉각수온을 빠르게 올리는 EMS 변수 설정 필요하다. This paper investigated the combustion and exhaust gas characteristics of gasoline direct injection engines for various cooling water temperature. The engine-out nanoparticle emission number and size distribution were measured by a DMS-500 equipped upstream of the catalyst. A CLD-400 and an HFR-400 were equipped at the exhaust port to analyze the cyclic NOx and total hydrocarbon emission characteristics. The results showed that the nanoparticle emission number greatly increased at low coolant temperatures and that the exhaust mainly contained particulate matter of 5?10 ㎚. THC also increased under low temperature conditions because of fuel film on the combustion chamber. NOx emissions decreased under high temperature conditions because of the increase in internal exhaust gas recirculation. In conclusion, an engine management system control strategy for driving coolant temperature up rapidly is needed to reduce not only THC and NOx but also nanoparticle emissions.
대퇴신경지각이상증의 치료를 위한 외측대퇴피신경차단 - 증례보고 -

Meralgia paresthetica is a disorder characterized by a pain or dysaesthesia, or both, in the anterolateral aspect of the thigh caused by entrapment or neurinoma formation of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve. Currently available modes of therapy include conservative treat- ment, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block with steroids and local anesthetics, and surgery. At our neuro-pain clinic, we recently encountered three cases of meralgia paresthetica, all of which were treated by lateral femoral cutaneous nerve block. In which of them, two cases were successfully treated but one case was associate with pain relapse due to entrapment of lateral femoral cutaneous nerve by a retroperitoneal mass, schwannoma. In this paper we re- port our experience along with a review of the current literatures.

Blockade of the ganglion impar was performed as an alternertive means of managing in- tractable neoplastic perineal pain of sympathetic origin. We successively treated a patient who had suffered from excessive perianal sweating with ganglion impar block using pure alcohol. Eight months after block, the patient has no complaint of perianal sweating. Ganglion impar block is an effective method in the treatment of excessive perianai sweating as well as perineal pain of sympathetic origin.
