In order to design new type of Limited Slip Differeotials(LSD) for Sports Utility Vehicles(SUV) which was supported by Ministry of Commerce Industry and Energy, Reverse Engineering is applied to evaluate existing LSDs and mechanical properties of materials, thermal treatment and design criteria are derived. Design parameters of new LSD parts are decided based on these information. CAE tools such as CATIA and APM WinMachine are utilized for reverse engineering of existing LSDs and decision of design parameters of new LSD.
